The Dave Matthews Band's saxophonist LeRoi Moore has passed away.

He was 46 years young.

The musician was injured in an ATV accident in June, resulting in a punctured lung and broken ribs.

Moore went back into the hospital last month due to complications. He passed away Tuesday in Los Angeles after more complications.

Our condolences to LeRoi's family and bandmates.

I still cannot believe the news. Thanks for being sincere in this post, Perez. Sometimes you come off being an ass but at least you showed compassion in this one. I still love you.

DMB is my life and my thoughts and prayers are going out to Leroi's family and friends, bandmates, and those loving fans I adore. I can't believe I'll never see Leroi stage left ever again. My 20th show is definitely going to be an odd one!

I don't have any words to express how sad I am. I really wish the haters would not leave posts on stories like this. It is sad and regardless of whether or not you like DMB and even know who Roi is show some fucking respect.

I just saw the guys this past weekend at the Texas shows. DMB will never be the same without Roi. We love you and will miss you dearly. Thoughts and prayers are with family and friends.

    10. 110

I had the privilege of being at the concert tonight in Los Angeles. It was truly a special occasion. Dave sounded incredibly choked up when he first mention the news saying that its been a very very bad day for them. He thanked us for being there to help ease their pain and lift their spirits. They also adjusted their set list to include all of Leroi's favorite songs and Dave told a story about the first time he met Leroi and fell in love with his sax playing.

    15. 115

Amazing talent…not a huge fan of DMB, but am of great musicians…and he was one…R.I.P. sir and thank you for your art

    16. 116

I saw this man up soo close I could touch him in '96..he mesmermized me with his many range of instruments he played music lost a great musician, now he has the pleasure of playing w/ the greats that passed on before him…R.I.PLEROI…….My heart bleeds for the band…

    17. 117

wow… what a night. i witnessed my 48th dave matthews band show, the first ever without mr. leroi moore. it was a night full of tears and shakes and thoughts of "i can't believe leroi has passed on." sitting from the 2nd row, i could witness dave, carter and stefan choking up throughout the show. not only was leroi the quietest member of the band, but he was by far the sweetest i had ever met. in 2001 leroi had invited me on his tour bus at the gorge in washington, to take pictures, give me autographed items and backstage passes because he just adored the fact i loved jazz as much as he did. leroi continued his discourse with me by talking to me from the stage, handing me setlists and waving from time to time. i know leroi valued the fact that i was such a fan of his and adored the attention, but he also shy-ed away from all the attention given by strangers. i know he just loved what he did everyday and the lives he influenced, and today could not be harder for me as a fan and a friend. with all of our love, bonnie and tee

    18. 118

WHAT!!!! this is so devatstating!!!!! RIP and huge love to DMB and Fans

    19. 119

Very sad…not only are his family and friends suffering the loss, the music world has lost a great talents _and_ the Dave Matthews band will have a different sound now — maybe eventually 'as good', but forever different. Moore ws such am integral part of that band's 'je ne sais quoi'.

    20. 120

This is so sad… not only is it obviously a deep loss to his family and friends, but the music world has suffered a huge blow… and the Dave Matthews' band will now sound different — maybe eventually 'as good', but forever different. Moore was an integral part of that band's 'je ne sais quoi'.

    21. 121

LeRoi was a beautiful man. Not the trashy celebrity beauty that we come here to see, but a kind and gentle soul that shared the beauty of his talent with us. RIP LeRoi, you will be missed.

    22. 122

      Sad!!

    23. 123

    27. 127

i was at a DMB concert in VA back on the seventh, and LeRoi still was still not playing, so i knew something was wrong, but this is horrible.

    32. 132

ive always enjoyed their music but never saw them live because tickets would always sell out so fast. I wish I had tried harder to see them because I know that a part of that group is gone forever. RIP Leroi. Im sure he'll be play ing his sax in Gods band that back up the choir of angels!!!!

    33. 133

How sad. I was in an ATV accident when I was 16 and almost died. They are so dangerous. I feel for his family.

    41. 141

Re: sk8terboy1983 – didnt anyone ever teach you to not say something unless you have something nice to say? or atleast be respectful of people who can't say anything back. you are being disgraceful to a person who passed away. people obviously care or else why would this news be up on a gossip site? also why would lots of people be leaving comments?
most importantly your comment that he wouldn't care about us? why do you think he kept sharing his music with the world? he had enough money he could have been done years ago.
my thoughts go out to the Moore family and all the dmb fans

    42. 142

      So So So very SAD

    43. 143

Re: sk8terboy1983 – You are Fucking Pathetic. Have a heart okay. Also, next time you comment, you should really change your screen name. Anything from an Avril song is not flattering.
