There's MORE proof that the Chinese lied!
The Times of London reports that a very determined hacker has uncovered official Chinese state documents that 'prove' He Kexin is NOT 16, the age a gymnast must turn this year in order to compete in the Olymipcs.
The hacker found spreadsheets compiled by the General Administration of Sport of China. On said spreadsheets, He's date of birth is listed as January 1, 1994 – making her 14 years and 220 days old. So not 16 and not eligible to compete.
Duh!
The hacker said, "Much of the coverage regarding Kexin’s age has only mentioned ‘allegations’ of fraud, and the IOC has ignored thematter completely. I believe that these primary documents, issued by the Chinese state … rise to a level of evidence higher than ‘allegation’.”
Is the Olympic committee really going to sit back and let the Chinese get away with cheating?

you know a lot of people say that the US is just being a sore loser, and really it's not about that. it's about the integrity of the games. if you have cheating going on then they need to be punished for it no matter what national origin. the simple fact is, the Chinese have made a mockery of the Olympics this year with all of their deceit and trickery. They only want a win no matter what. And it's really sad because all of their shams that are coming to light are taking the spotlight off the TRUE athletes who are deserving of the attention.

I'm only surprised she's 14. One of the chinese girls didn't look any older then 12 to me. You can put all the eyeshadow you want on them but when you look like you still have your baby teeth and not your adult teeth yet and obviously don't look 16, it's a real shame to the integrity of the game. It has nothing to do with beating the USA or the other countries. Cheating is cheating and should be disqualified no matter what country you are.

The world should boycott the closing ceromonies for the Olympics. Beside the human rights issues, also for the cheating scandals.. I think you will see the medals taken away from the Chinese Gymnists within a few years.

IF this is true then I hope people understand that these girls are not at fault, they just do as they are told. It´s the trainers and other people around them that totally disregard the rules and don´t care about the health and safety of the girls.
I just watched a documentary called Little Big Dreams, it´s about a gymnastic school in China where very young children are sent to train. It was so sad, horrible, awful and shocking to watch and see how little kids are treated there. It also showed why the Chinese are so good, it´s almost unhuman how these kids train, just awful.
Oh, Perez, can't you stop it? This is slowly becoming too much. Sure the Chinese aren't perfect, but there are sooo many other athletes and countries out there that would (and not only would) cheat, too. China wants the Olympic Games to be as perfect as possible. Why can't we just enjoy the games as what they are: a huge and amazing sports event!
The Chinese count age differently so you are 1 the year you are born and also their calender runs differently as well I'm 25 but my Chinese age is 27. So it's more than likely a misunderstanding down to that rather than just out and out lying.

The Huffington Post was the original source for the proof that the Chinese gymnasts are under age. The "officially sanctioned lies" are disgusting. It's not that the girls aren't good, it's that the Chinese government is complicit in the lies by their gymnastic officials. Imagine the outcry if the US or another free country tried to get away with this.
I Believe that the IOC wil give sanctions only when the games are over.

The IOC is so inept. First they don't put China on probation when one of their gymnasts admitted after a past olympics that she lied about being 16 because the gov't told her to lie & gave her a passport. Then they award this cheating by giving the Olympics to China even though it has a horrible records when it comes to human rights. And animal rights are just nonexistent. And then again, there is ample evidence of them lying again, and the IOC just turns a blind eye. So freakin disgusting! I HATE CHEATERS. EVERY SINGLE COUNTRY THAT COMPETED IN GYMNASTICS SOULD FILE A PROTEST. AT THE VERY LEAST IT WOULD SEND A MESSAGE.

For anything to happen FIG (Federal international gymnastics- the international governing body) has to make the change to the age requirements for 2012- until that happens- we will always have this problem because gymnasts peak usually VERY early (12-15). Did the Chinese cheat? Probably. Is this new to the sport- absolutely not. Is it fair- heck no. But, there is nothing that can change this outcome. Let's just hope that China forgot to dot all their I's and cross there t's somewhere along the line…..

i know, my boyfriend & i were watching that when it was going on….she doesn't even remotely LOOK like she's 16. Nastia was so much better it wasn't even believable that He got the gold…they said that most of the judges didn't even have a clue about gymnastics….why are they judging it then!?
I never realized how unfair the Olympics were before this year. It was exciting, but makes me not wanna watch it because even though the athletes are AMAZING….the whole point is ruined because they aren't judged fairly.

So you are trying to say that it is a misunderstanding and that the Chinese government didn't really understand the way the rest of the world counts ages? Well then why did the official Chinese News Outlet give her age as 13 one year ago? Then the Govt. quickly took down that site. It sounds like they new exactly what her age was and didn't want others to find out. Additionally, if that news outlet was using her "Cinese Age, then that would mean she was even younger, so `13 this year instead of 14.

Actually younger girls have a much easier time doing gymnastics, they are more flexible and haven't had a growth spurt, don't have hips to throw off their balance etc… the age limit isn't there because younger girls are worse, it is to protect them from too much competition too early…i.e. Jennifer Capriati syndome. the fact is, with enough work an 11 year old would have a MUCH easier time winning events than an 18 year old.

Its not just America that has tried really hard its all the other countries too.If He Kexin is too young then that means that not only does America deserve the Gold but Great Britain's Beth Twiddle deserves the bronze as she came 4th. Nastia & the underage girl were tied for first. The tie breaking process was to simply drop the low score. I watched the event. I saw the mistakes that the chinese girl made, when the announcers pointed them out. When Nastaia's 'mistake' occurred, I had no idea what they were talking about. I saw nothing wrong. BUT- the Big Problem in judging gymnastics is this- Any county with an athlete competing in gymnastics, can't be a judge for the sport. So it's all judges from counties where gymnastics ISN'T a big sport, judging these Olympic events, & some of the don't have a clue! During the tie- Everyone was blaming the Austrailian judge for being incompetent.
Nastia deserved the gold. The judges are not educated enough for the job, cheating or no cheating

You know, not only do two of the chinese team's girls look under 16, but if you listen to the commentators on NBC it seems that many of their routines are over-scored and the USA's gymnasts are under-scored. Do you think it's fair that Alecia Sacrymone was pushed out of Bronze on the Vault when Chung Fei had bad form on her second vault and landed on her shins?!?!!!!! BS!!!! And, according to the commentators, who are all retired medal winning gymnasts, Nastia's uneven bars performance was much better than He Kexin's in the first place. The commentators were appauled! Also, they said that many of the chinese on the balance beam were over-scored as well!
They've explained that the mis-scoring is due to unexperienced judges, which is true…but my husband and I cannot ignore the obvious favoritism toward the Chinese gymnasts during the whole competition! They haven't over-scored any gymnasts except for the chinese!!! This whole competition has been a travesty due to age controversies and bad biased judging!!!!

I don't think the controversy has anything to do with the US being bitter. What does the US even have to be bitter about? Considering we've got 46+ medals at this game alone- the most out of any country this year. (And that's the most recent count I could find online, could be more by now!) And we are home to the supposed "best Olympian ever." The only reason this story is blowing up so big is because politically, EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD HATES CHINA! You really think the US cares about losing an handful of medals? Not at all. It's not about the medals. It's about putting China in it's place.

we should all take into consideration that if she is 14- she has no choice. She is taken to the national training center and does what she is told to do. If there is an age issue here, then it is the coaches and the Chinese officials that are to blame- not the athlete.

Even though it was not cool to break the age limit rule, youve got to admit, its pretty impressive for a 14 yr old. She's got alot of potential for gold in 2012.
I don't understand why this is made into such a big deal but seriously, does no one know that the IOC put an age limit on the age of these gymnasts because of US? It is almost shameful to say, as an american. Because it was the US who first put young girls into olympics (who felt too much pressure), that forced the IOC put an age limit. Nevertheless, it should all be fair game, and the chinese olympics committee gave a poor judgement in that area.

Another point….IF China cheated, it doesn't just affect the US and Britain because they got gipped out of medals. It affects every competing country. Say Canada had a 14 year old girl that was amazing, but we didn't send her obviously because of the age restrictions. Is that fair?
