Dent Coming Back?
The Dark Knight has made such an impact on its fans, that people are already talking about the next chapter in the franchise.
This installment will soon have made $500 million domestically and it's already the second-highest grossing film of all time.
Fans are already talking about the potential villains that will appear in the next flick.
Here comes a SPOILER for those few of you that haven't seen The Dark Knight yet movie.
Among the discussions is the "death" of Harvey "Two-Face" Dent.
So the question is: after he falls, does he really die?
In the movie, you see people at his memorial service. However, some people are debating whether he really dies.
Luckily, earlier this week the script for the sequel was made available for purchase. Shortly thereafter it ended up online!
The script is 167 pages long, but if you go directly to page 163 you'll find the answer regarding Dent.
The script reads, "Dent lies at the bottom of the hole, his neck broken." Followed by the stage direction, "DEAD."
And there you have it.
Shame!
Dent was one of the best things of Dark Knight.

Really, Perez? Because your opinion isn't sacred, no matter what you think. I happen to disagree: The Joker was the best thing about Dark Knight. I saw your review and I thought you were being really insincere. It was obvious to me that you went out of your way to be contrary just so you'd come across as independent-minded.
Oh, and btw, Jessica Alba is not 100% Latina so if she doesn't want to be referred to as such, she's within her right to say so. Beyonce might look vaguely like a tranny, but that's not such a crime:-) and she's still very elegant in her dress and pretty… And Paris Hilton didn't even finish high school and shouldn't be validated by anyone. Harvey Dent was great… but, Two-Face was fucking terrible.
Penguin, Riddler and Catwoman will be the next three villains.
man I was seriously dissapointed with the way Harvey's character played out…I wish they had drawn out the angst of his character a little more, instead of just one minute being Gotham's golden boy to an angry, bitter hate monger..I'm excited to hear his story, though. I thought he looked a little cheesy, for sure. I wish there more Joker in the movie as well! Too many characters=not enough focus on Heath (R.I.P).

I liked how they handled Two-Face. There are rumors floating that Rachel didn't die and is in fact going to be Cat Woman in the next movie. She was already hinted at when Lucius said his new bat suit would withstand cat attacks. Remember kids, they weren't planning on Ledger to die so Two-Face returning is probably a big possibility. I though the actor did a fine job and the makeup wasn't that over the top.
I didn't like the Dent character either. Too fakey looking was his makeup and he took some of the spotlight off the Joker who was the real "star" of the movie!
dents character was perfect: everything he believed in and stood for crumbled and fell away from him - his whole world pretty much disappeared around him. he was left with nothing but the thoughts of what could be and what should be. of course he is going to be mad
plus, dent was so angry at the end, he was going to kill himself second but his coin flipped to the good side, so he moved on to the next. it would be stupid to keep harvey in the second movie cause he would have turned into the very thing he was so pissed off and hateful about - the loss of hope. harvey would have become the very thing he loathes if he stuck around, and would have really destroyed what rachel stood for.

Well, Prez. If you look at that script, does it say whether the Joker died. Because the last I remember seeing of him was when he was hanging upsidedown talking to Batman. The assumption being that he went to Jail…but lived to comeback another day. I think the plan was for the third Batman to battle the joker once again, along with The Riddler and Catwoman. I think they might have to bring Two Face back, now. No one else can play Heath's Joker. It is exactly seven months ago, today, that Heath died. It's hard to even type those words.

You know, for those who haven't seen the movie (there might be those out there) why no make one of your "click" links that you are so fond of doing anyway. Harvey Dent was cool and Two-Face was good but nothing topped The Joker.
ok first of all if any of you were true batman fans you would know that two face doesnt die because theres and old batman movie (the one with jim carrey as the riddler) that has two face in it so uhhh he cant die DUH!!!! and second of all the way two face looks in the dark knight is the way he looked in the comic books so i think the make up job is superb!!!!

Second of all, just b/c the SCRIPT says he's dead, doesn't mean he has to be. I mean… They wrote it that way when they assumed Heath Ledger would be alive to reappear. It would be easy enough to write off his "death" and just say that he was being held in a hospital somewhere, to spare Harvey Dent the humiliation he would feel. Sort of. Know what I mean?
the thing about catwoman and the penguin and the riddler is just a rumor. they busted it on aintitcool.com, you should check out the 'buzzkill' section where they frequently report on which rumors are fake. it's obvious that most of you have never picked up a batman comic book in your life, so most of your opinions are utterly moot. and everyone saying they should've focused more on heath and less on dent obviously missed the entire point of the movie.
also, two-face AND dent were spectacular.

OBVIOUSLY the Joker was the best part of the film. I don't think anyone really disputes that. But Harvey Dent was definitely important to the film and I really don't think his character took anything away from the Joker. The Joker created Two-Face, so you could indirectly say they are connected. Two-Face just shows how far reaching the Joker's malevolence can go. I think Dent is dead though. It really wouldn't add much to the sequel if they brought him back, his story began and ended in Dark Knight. It'd be really repetitive and monotonous, which I hate to say because I love Aaron Eckhart. And I think Catwoman or Penguin would be sick. No Riddler though because Riddler reminds me of the Joker too much.
That proves nothing in my mind. I mean its just script direction big deal?

Umm hello… the dark knight story supposedly happens before Batman Forever (the one with the kiss from a rose song) has two faced aka Harvey Dent in it. The guy doesn't die……

That's only for domestic grosses (U.S. and Canada). Worldwide it is currently #19 and would need to make another $300+ million to get past LOTR: Return of the King for the #2 spot.

After watching 4 decades of 'cliffhangers', on TV programs and movies…..my advice is, don't believe everything you see.
If they can bring Bobby Ewing back, on 'Dallas', by way of a DREAM…anything is possible.
BTW…anyone who buys the script for the sequel to the 'Dark Knight', before pre-production and before it is shown to test audiences…is a fool, IMO. Chances are that the script will undergo MANY script changes and even an alternative ending, depending on how the audience feels about it, before the final script/movie is released.

A lot of people believe that the only reason they put "DEAD" on the script was if it got leaked before the movie premiered. So if a fan read it, they would be fooled to believe Dent dies. I really hope he's not dead, he was one of my favorite characters!
That's stupid. How do they explain Batman Forever (the best Batman movie before Nolan)? They're just going to ignore the entire continuity? I hate it when directors just decide to ignore all the other movies in the series.
I do not think he means the script to the third installment. He means the script to The Dark Knight.

i have heard a few things though, even that he MIGHT be replaced. after all, they did replace katie with maggie. several people i have heard to replace ledger were johnny depp and daniel day lewis.
if batman survived that fall then how could harvey not ?

Except they wrote the script when they were under the impression they could use the joker for future films.
Clearly things are going to have to change, Dent will come back because they aren't going to start fresh again with a new batch of villains.

How could 2face possiblely be dead when he appears in a LATER batman film aka tommy lee jones its the one with the riddler aka jim carey. Thats the stupidest thing ive ever heard thats like saying batman doesnt appear in the next film when we all know he goes on to be friend robin and even god help us bat girl (why alecia silverstone whhhyyy!!)
