Mimi's B.F.F. Is Sentenced to Prison!

It must be a sad day for Mariah Carey.
One of the few people invited to her secret wedding to Nick Cannon and her main bestie, rapper Da Brat, was sentenced to three years in prison on Friday.
Her offense???
Striking a woman with a rum bottle at an Atlanta-area nightclub.
Crazy!
Da Brat, whose real name is Shawntae Harris, was also sentenced to seven years probation and 200 hours of community service.
About six members of Bratty Brat's family wept when a sheriff’s deputy took her into custody.
Da Brat told the family, “I love y’all,” as she was led out of the courtroom by authorities.
Her fam responded, “We love you, too,” in unison.
The report didn't mention any Mimi sightings in the courtroom.
What kind of a friend is that????

THATS CRAZY! 3 YEARS?? i mean of she hit her in the face w a bottle but i think 3 years is the maximum prison time for that offense. I wonder if she got the maximum due to her celebrity?? As a matter of fact they were talking about this issue on the radio one day and a random person called in and said that they recieved only 3 months in prison and 2 years probation for this. Looks like shes gonna have LOTS of time to think about what shes done!! SUCKS!
fucking kills me how she gets 3 years for hitting someone that probably deserved it and people driving the wrong way on the highway (nicole) slamming into trees all cracked out (lezlo) and driving totally drunk (khloe, shia, etc) get 83 minutes of jail. whateverrrrrrrrrrrrr…….. just doesn't seem like the glove fits (oj)

Re: hottie – Could be that she may have had priors, which always help determine what your sentencing will be. I served 4.5 years in the Florida Department of Corrections, and during my time there, I saw many, many people, with just driving with no license charges, doing the same amount of time as me, simply because of previous convictions. And in the south (I'm assuming she got sentenced in the state of Georgia) they don't play about that shit. It's not like the North East, where they're lenient and only give you fines and community hours.

Back then we did that shit and you just didn't hear back from the person. Hell I was in a bar fight where the entire bar was fighting and we all ran and no one got in trouble, pool balls were flying, sticks and chairs thrown and broken…That's insane. Isn't it intersesting that black celebrities ALWAYS get such harsh sentences for (somewhat) minor offenses, yet white celebs like Lindsay Lohan, Khloe Kardashian, and Paris Hilton BARELY get a slap on the hand for driving around Los Angeles shitfaced on a regular basis.
