Six Months to Walk

Count your blessings, y'all.
According to a new report, Annie Lennox must to through at least six months of physiotherapy to recover from the spinal surgery she had last week before she can walk properly again.
Annie is reported as saying, "I could only drag my leg around the house. Something told me urgent action was required. I had micro surgery on Friday morning. This is the fifth time I've gone under the scalpel and each time I think it's miraculous. I can now walk again slowly, without the drag, but it's going to take at least six months of physiotherapy before I start to walk more normally again."
That Annie's the fighting type!
We hope you're back to normal sooner than 6 months!

I had back surgery…..It's not easy to heal from.
The therapy is very painful.

My late husband had to undergo 2 spinal surgeries. He even had 'supposed' titanium brackets and screws implanted, to replace sections of his spinal cord…and they SNAPPED within 2 years of implanting (I STILL have the x-rays to prove it)!
My husband passed away, at the age of 43, due to a 'heart attack'…but, I have no doubt in my mind that, it was due to the fact that he was forced to medicate with vicodin and oxycontin (DAILY AND OFTEN), because of the snapped implant (which the Teamsters Union, insurance and Doctor refused to rectify).
If there are ANY professional truck drivers reading this…..PLEASE, get periodic x-rays and medical exams! I can't stress that enough. I never want any family going through what me and my son are going through.
I wish Ms. Lennox the very best, in her recovery.

Get well soon Annie - could've been worse, at least she will recover at some point. Some folk end up in wheelchairs for life.
Sounds painful though.

Annie Lennox rocks! Wonky-eye Paris doesn't belong on the same page as somebody with actual talent.
What happened to her to start all this? What's wrong with her? I've had extensive surgery on my spine twice. First time I had a cervical laminectomy from my 4th cervical vertebra to my 1st thoracic vertebra. Second time they had to cut into my spinal cord and insert a shunt. Horrible surgeries to recover from. I wish her well.

Re: Halfpint – After sitting in a hospital waiting room, for hours on end, and 'nursing' my hubby through his 2 surgeries….I know exactly what you, and your family, are going through. Speaking, not only for myself, but for my son, also…..we wish you all the very best, for a speedy recovery.
