"ANGELS FOR ANIMALS RESCUE LEAGUE is a non-profit 501(C)3 organization started in Allen County. We have a shelter for the incoming animals to get shots, spayed or neutered and any other testing that needs done. We try to get them housebroken and adoptable so they will be loving lifelong companions. Some of our animals are sent to Allen Correctional Institution for obedience training by the inmates for 8 weeks. These dogs come out of prison housebroken, obedience trained, well socialized and crate trained. Most receive their AKC Companion Dog Certificate."

Quite the hypocrite Perez aren't we?? While perez "supports" these charities he goes and buys a hugely overpriced mongrel worth not $50 if it wasn't for these moronic hybrid "breeds"

      oooh how cute =)

Now, THIS is a charity that I will definitely support. I am a supporter of charities that help/support babies, small children and animals.

it's such a good cause. not only does it support animals, but it supports prisoners also. They benefit from animal care as much as any of us. Good on you Perez.

I have been involved with trying to save two dogs' lives…
Sammy and Carson. Their time will be up VERY soon at the McClean County Animal shelter…
I have e-mailed rescue after rescue. (Including this one).
I have posted their info on myspace.
      I'll try this avenue!
Go to Petfinder.com then Shelters by State. Go to Kentucky, and McClean is on the first page. Click on that and you'll see Sammy and Carson, two cattle dog mix brothers. THEIR TIME IS RUNNING OUT!

Re: ChrisInKy – Oh, those creatures. There is no way for you to adopt them? I wish that I could…but, I am up in Wisconsin.

Thanks, Perez, for featuring Lima, OH!!!! (Pronounced like the bean, not the country capital).

This group has done some great work and will hopefully continue doing so given your promotion on your site.

      Thanks again!

      Re: Kristii

You can help at your local shelter.

They love volunteers to either foster pets or if that is too much for you, as little as walking or petting the pets up for adoption. Most shelters need volunteers.

Go on Petfinders put in your zip, it will search locally for you.

      CONSIDER ADOPTING FIRST

I will support this but why didnt PEREZ adopt from a charity like this? Is this his way of making up for it? No good deed goes un-noticed. The exposure he is giving this charity kinda redeems him.

Re: ChrisInKy – I hope this works for them. You're an Angel.

This is one of the best ads I've ever seen for a shelter. I went and donated what I could, which isn't much right now, but hopefully in the future I can donate more. My dogs come from shelters and I always try to support them, even if it's only a little bit of money at a time.

PEREZ!! Thank you SO muck for including a VERY VERY WORTHWHILE cause! I am so thrilled that you are promoting this cause and spreading the word! Will DEF support.

I have two rescue dogs…they are my best friends and I love them!!! It was hard not to take all of them home but as they say….you can't make a difference in every dog's life, but you can make a difference in your dog's life..and mine are spoiled!!!! :)

No one should be paying a breeder…there are too many dogs in this world that need homes…rescue!!!

    19. 19

      I donated.
      This is an AMAZING charity.

Just think … not buying one Cd, or one movie, and you can save an animal's life!!!

Re: Sugarcube – EVERY little bit helps, darlin'. Never be ashamed that you aren't able to donate more…we all do what we can.

Since I was a little girl, my family has always taken in strays…we have never gone to a breeder or pet shop. When my son and I wanted to adopt a kitten, or two….we asked our Veterinarian (who had always taken care of our dog, before she passed away), if there was someone who had kittens (that they couldn't take care of). We were ecstatic when there was….a tan tabby polydactl (who we named Charlie) and his brother, a grey tabby, who we named Sam. When we went to pick them up…we found them locked in a bathroom (which was smaller than an average closet)…and, they were kept in there 24/7…because that owner also had a HUGE dog who wanted to make an appetizer out of those little creatures.
Unfortunately, Charlie didn't make it past his 2nd birthday (I think that it had alot to do with his being a polydactyl, but, I didn't have an autopsy done). Sam, on the other hand, is doing wonderfully well. The kid and I are just grateful that Sam let's us live in HIS home. LOL

I love the idea of helping any animal. But I do not agree with sending them to a prison! It doesn't make any sense to me except to save money. As far as prisoners benefiting from it? They don't deserve it as far as I am concerned. I'd pay the extra money to know the animal is going to be safe… My father was a Captain of the State Police and I can honestly say most people have no idea what goes on behind closed doors and NOT everything is supervised!!!!!!! If prisoners can harm people…what makes you think they won't harm animals???????

    22. 22

the picture makes me wanna cry!! im a HUGE animal lover and i cry everytime the damn animal commerical comes on :(

    23. 23

Re: divarusted – I agree with you. I have a brother who worked as a prison guard in a couple of other prisons, and is now a Sergeant in a California prison.
When my brother told me what some of these prisoners are capable of, I just could not believe it. I am not going to say what those things are, here….since they are acts/deeds/deceptions that are used as 'loopholes' to get OUT of prison. And, I would rather they be kept IN.

I love ALL animals and wish I could rescue many animals. If I were rich I would donate ALOT of my funds to animal rescues and shelters.
