Cher's the Next Catwoman?

We thought this was a joke, but The Telegraph is a respected newspaper.
According to the UK's Telegraph, Academy Award-winner and music icon Cher is in talks to play Catwoman opposite Christian Bale in the third installment of the revamped Batman film franchise.
A studio executive reportedly said,
"Cher is Nolan's (director) first choice to play Catwoman. He wants to her to portray her like a vamp in her twilight years. The new Catwoman will be the absolute opposite of Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry's purring creations."

It would throw away any sense of credibility the Batman franchise has built with the past two films. This is just an outrageous story. There hasn't even been discussions as to where the next film will be heading, according to Chris Nolan.
Oddly enough, I think Madonna would make a great Catwoman, and I'm by no means a Madonna fan.

Well, she WAS in talks for the role when Tim Burton was directing in the 1900's…I'd say why not? and as old as she is, there is always that chance she'll die right before and be they'll have another summer blockbuster on their hands! Here's hoping!

Very cool and unexpected twist. Nolan's off beat ideas have resurrected this faultering franchise. Why cast some young hottie when an aging, Nora Desmond type character would be so much more interesting. Kudos to him for giving us something than the typical studio tripe. Two years ago you all would have been questioning his decision to make The Joker a Clockwork Orange style psychopath. Yet it worked.
