Wow!
26.3 million people tuned-in to see the Beijing Olympics closing ceremony on Sunday.
It was the top rated summer Olympics closing ceremonies since the 1976 Montreal Games.
The telecast was up 27% from the closing night of the 2004 Athens Games and 38% from Sydney in 2000.
All in all, NBC kicked some major TV ass with the Olympics!
NBC also has the rights to the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

i actually enjoyed watching the olympics this year. i didn't like hearing about all the alleged scandal cuz in the back of my mind, i kept second guessing things but it was amazing.
The Olympics were addictive this year! Best reality TV ever! Can't wait for the next ones.

i LOVED IT!!! it wasn't as good as opening ceremony but it was kickass! and i feel sooo bad for london… cus being after china; they'll have to make their opening ceremony and olympics more exciting… fraekign impossible. the beijing olympics were the best ever. admit it

Watched the closing ceremonies and was kind of disappointed. It wasn't as cool as the opening ceremonies, and the London 2012 preview left a lot to be desired even with Beckham there. Did you see Phelps on stage in London? He needs a stylist as the clothes he wore were so dorky, and I think his pants were barely hanging on which might have livened things up if they fell off his hips.
Oh yeaaaah, Vancouver 2010, looking forward to it. At least I'll save on hotel fees.

Re: missjenn – Actually neither men's nor women's hockey will win gold coz Canada will keep its record of being the only Olympic host city to not win gold. We also will have a very low medal count. The Montreal (11 medals in total) and Calgary Olympics (5 medals in total) had zero gold for Canada, and Vancouver will continue the jinx.

The only reason to watch the closing ceremony was obviously to see Michael Phelps, who wasn't even there. Result = waste of time except of course for the chinese opera.

i live about 10 min from the downtown core of vancouver. living here, anticipating the winter olympics, im filled with mixed emotions. on one hand, im excited that vancouver will get world wide attention. itll be interesting to see my home town in the papers and on the news. but im worried that vancouver isnt exactly the greatest city to host the winter olympics because we dont gat any snow! lol, we get alot of rain, but maybe a day or so of snow. in anycase, itll bring great revenue and commerce to this city, and im excited to watch the olympics on tv. i had a hard time watching the bejing olympics what with all the speculations and scandals.. it kinda took my attention off of what i was actually watching and forced me to second guess everyone.
