This seems like a very good cause (I haven't done the research, yet).
My only concern is that…there are so MANY children, in so MANY dire straits…..what is the protocol as to how are the donations are disbursed? If the surviving children of a hurricane, for example, are being given aid…are they going to be ignored if another catastrophe occurs, in another part of the World, at the exact same time?
Just wondering.

Actually, as much as I love celebrity gossip sites, I find reading the comments can usually ruin my day. Not so much for this post (and not always this site as much as ones similar to it…but sometimes this site too), but I often find a few people change the tone of the comments boards for everyone. I find there's a lot of racism, sexism and hate in some of the comments, and those few disgusting ones can turn you off the whole site. Sad, but true.
I don't know if the children's charity people were responding specifically to monstergirl's comments, or if they were just browsing around the site and were horrified by comments elsewhere. Either way, I love Perez, but I can kind of see where they're coming from too.
Good for them for sticking up to trash. I hope someone gives them the money back. They deserve it, for the cause — those kids didn't do anything to deserve a $25,000 grant down the drain.
I think sometimes people go to far on comments, being disgusting and profane, but you have to admit, they ARE funny. I laugh my head off at the comments I read, especially when people fight.

this is how it works, perez:
if the devil himself tells people to start donating bibles to the less fortunate, no one would ever buy it… so no matter what your intentions are in posting those charity links, they (charitable institutions) will only loose their credibility because you - a messed up person who has put it in himself as a life long goal to make everybody else's life miserable because they are better than you (in every way, believe me) - endorsed them.
Here's a tip perez:
if you really wanna help those charities, then don't post their links on your site.
And here's another: these "acts" of charity you are doing will never make up for the lives you try to ruin with your mischevous slanders. Don't think you'll go to heaven by acting charitable. coz your already damned to hell for all we know.
I don't believe that anyone denied them a grant because they were featured on the site, especially when they were featured in this context.
It's sad that people are still so small-minded.
