Even the Director HATES It!

New film Babylon A.D. sounds like it's dead in the water.
Here's what the film's OWN DIRECTOR, Matthieu Kassovitz, has to say about the Vin Diesel picture and the studio releasing it, Fox:
"I'm very unhappy with the film… I never had a chance to do one scene the way it was written or the way I wanted it to be. The script wasn't respected. Bad producers, bad partners, it was a terrible experience. I should have chosen a studio that has guts. Fox was just trying to get a PG-13 movie. I'm ready to go to war against them, but I can't because they don't give a shit."
The studio apparently fought the director every step of the way on budget and in the editing room, chopping fifteen minutes out of the film that he felt was key to making it all make sense.
If you do see it and hate it, you can't say you weren't warned!

As a film student I know that this shit happens all the time and it's not fair. Studios need to trust the directors more since it's obvious they have NO FUCKING CLUE how to make a film that actually works!

Number 2 that would be Saving Private Ryan! That's the first film Disel was in with Spieglberg. Tom Hank was the major star. Diesel played a frenchmen, I think.

Lots of these types of movies would be better off after cutting random bits out. They would be sooooo much more interesting. Instead of trying to desperately explain every stupid plot point. BRAVO

He's a great director too. And a great actor. He played the Israeli team bomber in Munich. Very huge in Europe. Fox is stupid for not letting him do his thing.

Well, that's depressing. Director dissing the movie? Ugh. That's terrible. I'm not really a Vin Diesel fan, but I do like Melanie Thierry who stars in the movie as Aurora, but… well, I wish her the best. Not a great way to bring your career over to the states, soo…. poor girl! Not to mention I hope she gets a good paycheck out of it. I hear she's pregnant.
Studios continually fuck up movies and they continually fail at the box office. Are they too stupid to just let the directors do their job?
Diesel played an Italian-American in "Saving Private Ryan." Heard a lot about script/writer/production trouble with this film last year. A shame the director had to put up with all that crap… Heard their were clashes ["creative differences"] with Diesel too (not that that means it's true, but.. *shrug*)
Fox sucks ass. They ruined the X-Files movie. Debuting it the week after Batman and not even promoting it sucked ass. It seems like they wanted it to fail.
I'd love to ride Vin Diesel like he was Seabiscuit, but it's still not enough to make me see this movie.
Unless a ride came free with ticket purchase…..
Kassovitz hasn't done a single good movie since La Haine (which is a masterpiece) anyway. Sad…
Damn, anything Vin Diesel is in, you have to know its a bad sign of a crappy movie! It'll be funny if it get nominated for like an Golden Globe or Oscar or make a shit load of money, lmao, unlikely.
