Why do all really decent programs have to be remade for an American audience? Its pathetic. The office was made into some awful cheesy comedy soap/drama, deal or no deal had to have girls in bikinis and now Kath and Kim is also being redone! Sort it out! bet you will get summer heights high soon but it'll be set in America instead of Australia- remember you heard it here first!

The original played in Canada on Showcase a couple of years ago…it was HILARIOUS!!!
If the remake is as good as the original, its going to be the BEST show on TV.

Why fix what aint broken? The Aussie version is brilliant! Just going to be another case similar to what was done to the British version of The Office. I hope the Aussie creators are getting paid a bucket load for being ripped off!

hey guys, well im from australia and the original aussie version of kath and kim is hilarious to us..it is just totally the way some of us are….ive seen the ads for the american version and i really dont think you guys will like it much….the way they have changed the language so you guys wil understand kinda looses the funniness of it…i cant say this is gona be a huge hit in the US…but watch it anyway!
Doing an American version of 'Kath and Kim' is like doing an American version of 'AB FAB': unfunny and pointless. Why not just show the Australian version? I'm sure it'll be a lot cheaper than to produce something that is sure to be a flop. They might have had a chance if it were on HBO, or whatever, where they could be a bit racier. Unfortunately, here in Canada it's the US version that will be known now instead of the far supierior (oh, you just know it is) Australian version.
I'm a straight female and I tell ya what - I will not miss this show! I'm so happy that NBC dumped sucky Scrubs and put this in its place!

See, the actual show Kath and Kim (from Australia) amazing! No other version will top it- it's will be like the British version (original) of the Office (which is the best version) Vs. The American version…..it's hard to improve on perfection, and as far as semi-mockumentary shows go, Kath and Kim is perfection.
I urge all you Americans to watch this show. I'm an Aussie and I have to say the Aussie version was a Smash Hit, a real cack (aussie for funny). I hope the US version is shown here too. If nobody in the US watches it, we certainly will.

Already said that I will not watch. But I want to add that part of the comedic appeal of the show was that Kim was on the heavier side and wore trashy tight clothes. Seeing a super skinny Selma rockin spandex isn't anything to add to the 'insider joke'. BORING.
