Now this is un-retiring news we can get behind!
British by way of Sri Lanka music star M.I.A. will be making another album!
She proclaimed retirement at the Bonaroo Music Festival earlier this year. However, since the fest, her song Paper Planes found a new audience, thanks in big part to the Pineapple Express trailer it was featured in.
There's now a huge demand for more M.I.A. music!
She told Entertainment Weekly:
Well, [Bonaroo] it was my last ever show. And it still is. I stopped touring after that and I didn’t want to make music again. I was quite happy to just leave it all behind. I was happy with what I had achieved. Now, with the success of “Paper Planes,” there’s pull for me to make another record. Even my mum believes in me more [laughs]. It’s a nice encouragement. But I was planning my life as a fishing woman on the outskirts of Cambodia. That’s a joke.
We're looking forward to her new stuff!

Thats great I had faith in her since I heard her "Bucky done gun" song I know I butchered it but i didnt own the cd haha my sister did…her musics fun and has a message if you listen to it….For those who are badgering her style…Youre missing the point Im sure she doesnt care what you think…shes probably dressed outlandsih on purpose.

So, she throws a hissy because she wasn't getting the right kind of "support" *cough*popularity*cough* she felt she deserved, and comes back just because her song does well in a movie? Claims she left because she felt compromised in her art? What ever, she felt compromised in her pocketbook. I liked her before, I think she's a sellout now.

i want to know what she's goign to do without diplo… we all know he's the genius behind this creation. dont get me wrong. i think she's a wonderful woman with great insight and wonderful at helping those in need, but musically she NEEDS diplo. even the stuff she did with timbaland was shit in comparison and made absolutely no sense. i sure hope they can some to terms. I am not sure I understand why people feel the need to say such negative things about others. If you dont like someones form of expression then simply move on. God forbid people enjoy the right to expression in art, music and appearence. People that lash out with ugly staments usualy are pretty unhappy with thier owne lives. Congrats to M.I.A for being herself and having fun while she does it, and congrats on the inspiration to create more music!
I never believe celebrities when they say they are going to retire. Its just a brilliant marketing tool.
