So, what does Team Barack think about John McCain's choice of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to be his Vice Presidential running mate.
Well, Obama's spokesperson, Bill Burton, says:
"Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency," Obama spokesman Bill Burton said in a statement.
Burton also criticized Palin as a vice presidential pick for her support of oil drilling in the Alaskan wilderness and her anti-abortion stance, referring to the 1973 Supreme Court decision that made abortion legal in the United States.
"Governor Palin shares John McCain's commitment to overturning Roe v. Wade, the agenda of Big Oil and continuing George Bush's failed economic policies. That's not the change we need, it's just more of the same," he said.

Yeah I'm definatly pro-choice and women who arn't pro-choice are just kinda weird in my opinion, but they really do need to drill in Alaska, I hope that goes through, I have a bunch of family that lives up there and all of the people want it to happen to bring more revenue to Alaska and also the fact that at the place they want to drill…there's nothing fucking there!

the state of alaska has a population of less than one million…..the CITY of chicago has a population of over 2.8 million. I realize that she has executive experience. But that is like comparing the CEO of a small local company to a CEO of a fortune 500 company.

umm, bill burton does not know what the definition of republican is? Maybe the other side should come out with that Biden is in support of abortion? She has executive experience, running a state. She also is one very tough person, refusing to be the former rep. governor's puppet. She is a mother of 5, one with down's syndrome. I saw no quote from her saying she was going to drag down the economy.

I'd say she is the Governor of on of the 50 states, which is more experience than Obama has, who has only been a senator. She is the commander of the Alaska National Guard…which is more than Obama has ever been…she has balanced a budget for a state, which is more than Obama has ever done…and she been to Iraq more times than Obama has. This is someone who has more executive experience that Obama/Biden combined and has never been in Washington…THAT is Change to believe in.

The future composition of the U.S. Supreme Court is dependent on who is elected next. If McCain/Palin is elected, you can say goodbye to Roe v. Wade. If McCain/Palin is elected 47 million Americans will STILL be without health care. Such would be disasterous. Outlawing abortions won't stop abortions from happening. Let's learn from history and not allow women's health to be at risk. Regarding health care, ALL Americans should already have it. It's morally bankrupt to allow America's health care system continue on as it has in the past. Not to mention all you gay rights civil rights supporters (myself included in that group), McCain/Palin will do nothing to advance your cause.

That's absolutely correct. McCain's VP candidate only has a Bachelor's degree, is from a low-population state, is a card-carrying member of the NRA, and opposes the right of a woman to choose.
Obama chose Joe Biden to fill the gaps in his own experience, which is widely regarded as an acknowledgement of his own shortcomings in the best possible way.
McCain seems to have chosen a woman to try and grab Clinton's woman voters. What he doesn't seem to realize is that the average person who would have voted for Clinton is much too smart to vote simply based on sex.
To vote for McCain/Palin i would be completely opposing everything a vote for Clinton would have stood for.
