Great plan Obama but you didn’t say how you were going to make all these changes….McCain is going to shred Obama’s ass today!

  3. 3

Just another speech packed full of lies!! He claims he won't raise taxes yet he plans all these new programs!! BULL$H1T!!! Those programs need to be paid for and we all know where it's coming from. Lies about taxes are the type of lies that either don't get you elected OR if you are elected, no second term. Check out history on this fact!

  4. 4

He was amazing, the way he filled 80 k asses w/ sunshine. They grined ear toear knowing now all their will come true! I'm going to quit my job ,climba tree and learn to play the flute!

I liked the fact that he tackled the issues head on, went into detail on what we need in the White House and hammered home the point that WE not Government own this country and that if WE want things done WE have to take back Washington.

  11. 11

it's moving to hear someone finally be forthcoming & passionate about changes that need to be made!

  12. 12

Re: magentaii – You obviously weren't listening because he said he was going to find the money by shutting down programs that don't work and by cleaning up the overspending in those programs we do need.

McCainites are just like him - denial denial denial

Americans need to admit that the current system doesn't work - we have to try something new even if it scary

  13. 13

YAAAAAAAAAAAWN! take away the teleprompter and see if he can deliver. booya

  14. 14

He is just another talking head. Shakespeare had it wrong, the first thing we do is kill all the politicians. There isn't a single one who isn't representing some special interest or another.

  15. 15

ha ha .. what BS.. NOBAMA .. will never win this election
    Go McCain

  16. 16

Why didn't just put a endless loop of Dreamweaver on and let all those assholes sway back and forth to it while they gazed upon their new God!

  17. Minx says – reply to this

Here's a novel idea, the $ we are draining in Iraq can finally be spent here? The money we give indescriminately to coorporae America can be channeled to something constructive?
Morning sunshine how are you! I like debating w/ you atleast your level headed, question intelligently and don't stoop to name calling!

A mile high and an inch deep, that's "Borat" Obama
Americans are slowly waking up to the "real" Obama.
Look for President McCain to win in a landslide November 4

  19. 19

Skittles and megentaii, first time commenting on this site, but just couldn't help it. Did you fools actually watch the speech ? Obama was very clear how he was going to achieve his goals. Cut the pork and re-allocate funds to the programs that deserve thos funds. He stated he would go through the budget with a fine tooth comb. If either of you can tell me how McCain plans on implementing his lofty plans and they come even close to be as concise as Obama was last night, I might take you both seriously. It's this level of intelligence that got us the last 8 years. You may both now resume crushing beers cans on your vacious skulls.

  21. 21

    NOBAMA 08!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. 22

how can you say that mccain is going to rip obama to shreds??? what does he have to come back with. his whole stance is based on what bush has already done and he continues to do more of the same. plus, joe biden is going to tear apart whatever vice presidential candidate comes along. i dont care what anyone says about him, he says whats on his mind and he knows how to get things done. as for obama, his speech was wonderful last night. and you must not have been listening to how he planned to get things done without cutting taxes..because he did say that he planned on shutting down programs that don't work, ones that we spend billions and billions of dollars on and that take away tax money from the american people, and use that money to fund his new programs. he said he had it worked out to the penny. also, he talked about finding alternative sources of energy, using wind power and solar power and not relying on foreign oil anymore. i dont see how you can look at the republican view right now and say that things will get any better. if there is going to be improvement in this country, whether it be economically or improving the quality of the future generations, we NEED change.

    GO OBAMA/BIDEN '08!!

  23. 23

Re: Minx – I think that was my favorite part. We need to take care of us first - I don't think we should ignore the rest of the world, but how can we rationalize sending all that money elsewhere when we really need it here?

  24. 24

    More like the Nightmare Begins…..

  25. Sammy says – reply to this

Funny how people beleive politcians anything they say! Have you guys not learned they can say anything and it will not change anything, no matter republican or Dems they can talk a pretty game but, when they have the ball on their court they fumble!!!! I too if I where president would wish we paid no taxes, all had insurance, no wars, no logans, no foreclosure and everyone be rich! But those are words how will I achieve it? We need taxes cause we need to build highways, schools etc, we can not have insurance for all cause that would require taxes or taking more money from rich, we will probably never live a life without war cause people are evil, there are no jobs so there will be no money and that will make us have foreclosures, and the Logans well we can not kill them so we have to put up with them,

  26. 26

Jesus Perez you are so transparent. The only reason you are Pro-Dem and Anti Republican isn't because of the economy, war, etc. It is because of Bush's and McCain's Stance on Gay Marriage. If they flipped it and Obama was against it and McCain for it….YOU WOULD BE SCREAMING 4 More years! Scary to think that people think it is all Bush's fault. The Democrats Run Congress. The President is but a mouthpiece for them. So expect more of the same regardless of who wins. Idiots.

  27. LS says – reply to this

Re: amartin – You a dumb Fuck… McCain can remember a question if u ask him are u serious… You must of voted for bush those 2 times and not look at our COUNTRY. Stay home and don't vote if you dont want change. I wish you had the much feeling for thge man who got us where we are BUSH.

  28. 28

Beautiful! He knocked it out of the park!

  29. 29

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? That speech had about as much excitement as a marshmellow hitting a brick wall. So unbeleivably canned and rehearsed; almost like an great actor putting on a good show. He was like a robot, devoid of any real, human emotion. It was a joke and gross.

  30. 30

    He will not win.
He is a great ACTOR…along the lines of our great thespians Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washington.
We already elected one actor as President (Reagan for all you un-enlightned PH fans), and he had decades of EXPERIENCE under his belt BEFORE he was elected.
OBAMA is an attractive character "created" by the hollywood/Democratic machine.
    He will not win.

  31. 31

if obama doesnt win the election is rigged. end of story.

  32. 32

This was beyond moving in my eyes. I loved everything about it. Go Obama!!

  33. 33

Obama has no experience doing anything he promises to do. His home state is one of the worse states in every sense and still people expect him to be able to run a country. Please!

  34. 34

    Our Country Needs Obama!
    OBAMA 08!!!

  35. 35

Re: JET – SO how deep is John McCain? Just curious!

  36. 36

Re: SoupNazi – The democrats didn't run Congrees when this mess started - as a matter of fact they didn't for the majority of Bush's term

  37. 37

i believed him when he spoke those words…hopefully we get a president we can believe in and count on. great speech.

  38. 38

Noooo Obama got Bill Clintons "Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you "-virus.

  39. 39

Re: jrzygrl – So with you on that one!!

  40. 40

Yes that would be great! But we can not just pull out on Iraq again and leave them twisting in the wind. I agree we need the rest of the world to help us help Iraq. Iraq needs a stable government before we pull out or another Saddam will be running that country and we will be back at square one.
I agree fat cat corps don’t need the tax cuts they should be taxed and taxed hard. I watched this speech last night (had to drag myself out of bed this morning LOL). I really liked what he said about giving tax breaks to people who employ Americans. BUT what programs is he thinking about cutting? The military? Not smart we need to be able to protect ourselves. So all these changes are going to take some serious cash and where is it coming from? I about spit my water all over the TV when he was talking about healthcare. He just left me with more questions then answers.

Lesson: Look for INNOVATION to TRUMP Conventional Wisdom! You can't teach an old dog new trick afterall!

  42. 42

The world believes America to be in crisis and has NO RESPECT for the Republican politics of Bush. Get your dinosaurs out of Washington and allow yourselves to socially, economically, environmentally and politically evolve!

  43. 43

Times are changing….I'm so sorry some of you ignornat fools just don't get it!!! I'll pray for you!

  44. Sammy says – reply to this

I just can not get over the names OBama Biden one sounds like Osama and of course his middle name Hussain and the other is a combo of Bin Landen

  45. 45

Everyone keeps complaining that Obama has no experience. Hey ASSHOLES no one really have experience when they're first starting a job. No one before becoming President has experieced being a President. They may know things about it but never actually sat in the hot seat. Let's wake up here. It's a first time for everything. He'll do a splendid job.

  46. 46

I'm voting for change! Obama '08!

His speech was amazing, it brought many-a-tear to my eye! If anyone wants to vote for McCain, then all you're going to get is the same bullshit we've BEEN getting for 8 years. Why would you want that?

Obama made the Republicans look like asses (respectfully), and what do they have on him? That he might be Muslim? Bitch, please.

  47. 47

Re: OBAMA 08 – He will never get elected. Mark My Words. Not enough Hippies will vote for him.

  48. 48

Sammi, if I may ask what you solution is then ? What do you suggest ? Unfortunately we must have leaders so the solution is to pick the one who seems like he is at least going to try no ? While I appreciate your pessimism, until you and anyone else who simply gives up on the process come up with a better and feasible alternative, your opinions are of absolutely zero value.

  49. 49

I do not vote based on the speeches and if they "moved" me,
I wait until the last minute, after I've heard everything from all sides and I walk in the booth and vote on which candidate has the values the most closely related to mine and that is it, if a candidate is nowhere close to my values, I do not vote and seriously consider moving to an island somewhere warm or even Canada,, hehe
I hate when people vote based on which party they consider themselves, if people would just vote based on the issues we would do better each four years
so far, I've voted in each presidential vote since I was 18 and I'm hoping there will always be a candidate that matches my values and belief's

  50. 50

Re: Frenchmanaz – Please read all my post before you start attacking me. I DID watch the whole damn DNC thank you very much. I like to HEAR both side of thing. That’s what any good American will do. Let me ask you this are going to watch the RNC tonight?? Probably not so don’t be so quick to point a bias finger in my direction. The beer can thing was uncalled for it just shows your level of intellect in debating.

  51. 51

Obama for PEREZIDENT! I was so emotional watching this speech!!!! hes so amazing!

  52. Minx says – reply to this

I agree with you on Iraq and that is why they now have a government we have put in place. The longer we stay, the more it comes across to the rest of the world that we are Occupying a country that has thanked us and now is asking us to leave THIS is why INSURGENTS exist! With that said we need to start addressing things here OUR economy and OUR National Security that was HACKED into DESPITE all this spending by Bush just two weeks ago! The problem is we are all over the map and we need to focus on us the USA for once. As Barack says we needed to have finished addressing Bin Laden before even stepping into Iraq.
As for where the $ is going to come from, we have squandered so much to Haliburton and friends while our men and women went ill prepared for wr. Corporate America gets an UNBELIEVABLE taxbreak, we need to start there and close the loopholes on government spending that currently exists. As Barack said, WE the people should have the same healthcare that Congress gives itself and WE pay for it! We are a wealthy nation we need to start checking our unchecked spending. You'd be amazed at how much $ we would have if he sticks to his word of reigning in reckless spending.

  53. 53

Re: SoupNazi – Unfortunately for McCain - it's the young vote that will win this, not the hippies. They want somebody with new ideas - not the same old sh*t we have been getting.

  54. 54

Re: SKITTLES – Thought The RNC didn't start until Sunday? I would liek to watch but didn't know what I needed to watch tonight

  55. 55

I'm sorry, did I miss the election? In no way shape or form is Obama the President of this country. It is very arrogant and moronic to say that is the President. You know, it's hard to give you ANY credibility Perez when you spout off lies all the time.

  56. 56

saw it last night…after that speech i don't see how he's not gonna become the next president.

  57. 57

This guy is like all politicians! FULL of promises but zero deliverys… The main problem of americans is employment not iraq, afghanistan and all those little war that propel our economy.

All the products consumed by us, are manufactured overseas because of low cost of production that´s the real problem, and this guy do not have a clue of how to solve that issue.

I believe Mr. Obama is a great vedette, but nothing else…

  58. Minx says – reply to this

    Re: JennSmith
    You are one smart cookie.
I plan to watch the RNC and listen w/ an open mind. The roblem I have w/ McCain though is that he surrounded himself w/ Bush's cohorts and voted 95% with Bush! The McCain I knew and liked in 2000 is NOT the same McCain that stands before us today. It shocked me that as a prior service man he says we can "muddle through" Afghnistan and recklessly push for Iraq w/o weighing the consequences. That is what knocked him off early of Kerry's short list of VP choice.

  59. 59

BTW, Obama does not have experience. He doesn't need Presidential experience, but he needs political experience. He has done NOTHING since becoming Senator of IL except campaign for Presidency. Name ONE THING the man has done for our state. I live in this Democratically run bankrupt state of IL and Obama has done nothing. He talks a lot of talk but doesn't follow it up with action. Give him another term as Senator then try for the Presidential election. He's putting the cart before the horse.

  60. 60

Re: SoupNazi – Wow… you don't know crap do you… Democrat's only recently took over congress from the REPUBLICANS…. It's the Dem's who are trying to clean up the mess left over by the Bush Adm. and those damn whiney Republicans…..maybe you should check your facts before posting something so asinine… you just made yourself look like an ignorant fool…. Also.. it's so funny when people are scared of their opponent.. they start talking trash.. don't worry Perez it's just fear talking… And I highly doubt that McCain will win by a landslide in Nov…. America is tired of the failed politics of the last 8 years.. and that's all he's promising them… more of the same crap Bush gave us….. so sad…. I would rather listen to an inspiring man make us promises that could happen than listen to a jackass tell lies knowing damn good and well if it hasn't happened in the past 8 years it's NOT going to happen now…… get with the program America we need CHANGE!!! NO WAY NO HOW NO MCCAIN!!!!

  61. 61

Yes do your mindless Zombie chant… OBAMA! OBAMA! OBAMA! Keep singing victory , so that we can laugh harder when your "GOD" gets a beat down come election day!

Plinkie, I live in Illinois Chicago Hyde Park to be exact and I am waiting for you to share your knowledge on what he HASN'T done. Go on I am waiting since you are so well versed on Chicago politics.
Running a state, a batallion, a city is not the same as running a country a nation and NEITHER has that experience. You won't have experience till you put your ass in that chair.
If you want to interpret "experience" a different way, being in the senate 30 years doesn't mandatorily make you wise ( Whoopi Goldberg). That's what's wrong w/ CAREER POLITICIANS!
Cheryl Crowe was a McCain supporter until he said the best years of this planet is behind us and that is why he voted against the Kyoto protocol…sad.

Re: Minx – I feel similarly. His service in the military used to be a positive in my eyes, but no longer. I think he is a yes man and will continue to be so. whatever the Republican party wants he will do, but I still plan to listen and truly hear what he has to say before I make a final decison.

  78. 78

Excellent points! We do need to focus on OUR country but I still want to know EXCACTLY what is he going to cut? What doesn’t work? I have my own opinions on that; start with all the freebies. We spend more aiding other countries then we do on our own it doesn’t matter who is in the white house. I say if you live in a shit hole of a country then it your responsibility to clean it up! We need to feed our own American people first. See I do realize there is a problem I just don’t know if Obama is the one to fix it.

  79. 79

  82. 82

Get your head out of your asses McNut supporters. Obama will be our next President because unlike McCain he is agent of Change. The last four years have been a joke, a nightmare for all americans except for the rich, out of touch ones like McCain and his conservative cronies!!!

The young and the educated, the new voters that are finally engaged in the process for the first time and the older ones that finally have faith in a candidate again will decide this election and over 90k of them were in that stadium last night and millions at home finally excited to have a candidate that finally gets it and wants all Americans to prosper not just the ones at the top of this fucked up class system!!!

And if you don't vote for him and you vote for McCain then if by some horrible act or another stolen election McCain does win then when the economy gets worse I hope you stick behind him when you have no job. When he brings back the draft, I hope your asses are the first to go off to fight in another unjust war or this one, that will last "100" years if he has anything to do with it.

The moral of this story…you reap what you sow bitches….OBAMA 08'

  83. 83

Nancy Pelosi is a fake Democrat. I hate her. Obama is no hilary or bill, but he's better than putting in someone who will kill all Asian's.

I am a registered republican but I will vote against my party on some things. My loyalties lay with my family and what’s best for them not my money.

  88. 88

Here you go again. Obama will win and let me tell you how he beat hilliary, it's real simple…HE WON MORE DAMN RACES…34 BEATS 23. You keep harping on hilliary it's over. If she could have beat Obama she would have a chance to beat McCain but she didn't. She has gotten on board finally so her supporters should to.

Obama is going to win in November. He is going to beat McCain the same way he beat hilliary win back in Feb all of her supporters were saying it wasn't going to happen. Move forward ppl, the future is that way=======>

Yeah, King Agamemnon was guilty of that (hubris). But Barack isn't talking about himself, he is talking about US. As he said, this election is not about him, it's about us, what we want to see happen. If we want change, we need to start laying the groundwork for it NOW. If we put our collectiv foot down business as usual in Washington will NOT continue. We are a Pride rich country and WE need to start being more aware and holding government accountable. Sticking our heads in the sand isn't going to work anymore. We are the only Industrial country scared of our own government. That is ass backward. People please watch Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, an old black and white political film to get a perspective on what our government used to be and can be reborn into.

  94. 94

    Re: Plinkie9
You obviously do not live in the same state that I do because if you did you would know that during his eight years in the Illinois state Senate, Obama worked with both Democrats and Republicans to help working families get ahead by creating programs like the state Earned Income Tax Credit, which in three years provided over $100 million in tax cuts to families across the state. Obama also pushed through an expansion of early childhood education, and after a number of inmates on death row were found innocent, Senator Obama enlisted the support of law enforcement officials to draft legislation requiring the videotaping of interrogations and confessions in all capital cases. This is just to name a few. So to say all he did was campaign for the presidency is absurd. GO OBAMA!!!!!!

    Re: LettyB
That is sad news to hear. This is why we need to start following the money trail and start holding ALL governments responsible. We do need to neautralize Bin Laden but Al Qeada has evolved into such a complex terror system that I am losing hope of us effectively quelling this new form of war. See you on the McCain post!

  96. 96

Why are most republicans so close minded and hateful? All they usually do is spew some sort of negativity. Even though Obama is running against McCain and has constantly had everything from his religion to even his heritage questioned by the republican camp, he still doesn't try to belittle McCain as a person. I can't remember a republican who didn't conduct their campaign that way. It's a disgrace.

  97. 97

Re: Little Lotte – And how is Obama like Hitler again? That comparison is pathetic.

Reagan increased taxes, so did the first George Bush. And as far as multi-national corporations evading taxes by off-shoring to Bermuda and the Cayman Islands, this practice DIRECTLY causes your taxes to increase. These corporations use our infrastructure, our educated workforce, our country and then give nothing or little back in the form of income tax. While those of us who work for a living pay through the nose. In the past 30 years almost all of the wealth generated in this country has gone to the extremely rich the biggest gains were made in the top 1 1/10th of 1%, while the bottom 90% of us when adjusted for inflation have seen our incomes stagnate or drop. This is based on tax return information and is hard to refute. Look at the numbers we also have the highest rate of personal debt since the depression. GW had a Republican controlled House and Senate until just recently yet what did they accomplish, a bankruptcy bill that is crushing, and a deregulated banking industry that has lead in part to the sub-prime mortgage fiasco. DO YOUR RESEARCH! How are we better off now? No one is perfect but we NEED CHANGE! Re: Little Lotte
