Re: Stevie D. – You are the one who needs to think before they speak- His mind is fresh and full of new ideas, we don't need another asshole in the office because we think he has experience with foreign policies. Look at where ir got us with Lil' Georgie Jr. he even had his daddy to hold his hand and STILL F'd up- Were are now facing a recession, there's no were to go but UP WITH OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT!

    3. 103

Re: cleoschatzi – I agree with you, that comment she made was just MORONIC and that's putting it nicely.

    4. 104

Re: onlyme – and what makes you think Obama will "change" everything? He's just selling in campaign. In the end, Biden will be doing all the work. We are so knee deep in this horseshit from the past 8 years that there is no possible way Obama can do it in 4 years. No way. I believe he can do well, but not now.

And btw, we were already on our way to a recession back when Clinton was in office.

    5. 105

SAMMY - How ignorant are you? Obama/Biden = Osama Bin Laden + Sadaam Hussain??? You probably think it's hilarious and aweful but the real sadness is that you, and many others like you can get consumed by something so irrelevant as a name and COMPLETELY MISS the real issues. If McCain wins my family and I are moving to Canada. We've lost our house to foreclosure and our daughter has to take a college semester off because we can't afford tuition right now. And Bush/McCain? They have just become rich bastards while leaving the American people in recession and despair. Get real please. Remeber REALITY when you go to the polls…..not a f*ckng ridiculous name comparison.

    6. 106

      thank you perez!

    7. 107

      aw i like him now
      im really nervous though
i dont know what to beleive like it all sounds so good
but it could be empty promises
i dont know he just seems really sure of himself
so i'd believe him and vote for him :]

    8. 108

My Goodness…My Goodness. I wasn't a fanatic before because of my sociopolitical views… but, WOW!! WOW!! WOW!! I watched it at a Watch Party in L.A. because I wanted to feel what everyone else was feeling. There were so many people from many different walks of like there, young and old. All were excited, hopeful, and stood in solidarity to support this man. Any person who can bring that about has to be something special. He, his speech, and this movement made A FAN OUT OF ME!! Wow!! Wow!! WoW!!

    9. 109

With so much negative going on in this country, it is so refreshing to have someone like Barack Obama running for president. We have an unbelievable opportunity to make this country great again, he makes me so proud. This convention has been amazing, I cannot tell you how many times I have cried watching it. Great speeches from everyone!

    10. 110

Obama made history last night…so exciting! He makes me want to strive for the American Dream..he is such a positive role model for my son to look up to and know that Anything and Everything is Possible!!!!!! McCain is TOOOOOOOOOO DAMNNNNNN OLDDDDDDD AND HE IS A SNITCH!

    11. 111

Skittles, Ok I apologize for the beer can thing it was childish but frankly I am just tired of listening to all of the nonesense. Obama explained all that one would expect with an hour long speech. Did you expect him to sit down at a desk last night and give his plan to you point by point. If your really interested then go to his website and you will find those points. H expplained in clear terms that there was wasteful spending all over the government. Sounds reasonable to me. In your own household do you not dump unecessary first in tough times ? I could go on an on about the overall theme Obama clarified yesterday but you were obviously expecting a much longer speech and a more boring one at that because in order to spell out line for line how he is going to achieve his goals it would take hours if not months. He clearly stated he would go over the budget with a fine tooth comb. and as for McCain, no I am not watching the RNC because McCain is not running it, his right wing party is. He is just stooge for them. McCain had my respect several years ago but no longer stands by any of his former positions. So again I apologize to you only for the beer can comment, but I still stand strong that you really weren't listening. Watch it again, Obama was as clear as he could be with an hour alloted to speak to the country.

    12. 112

      HE LOOKS LIKE CURIOUS GEORGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
      just sayin

    13. 113

you idiot assholes who are blogging against obama need to open your fucking ears and learn to flippin read. Cuz if he doesn't win this country is screwed for another four years

    14. 114

      Re: theone24 – 100% agreedd…

    15. 115

Amazing. Inspiring. And yes, yes he did say what he was going to and how he was going to do it. I'm absolutely moved and ready to do anything in my power to help bring about CHANGE that will truly lift us up and make us a better country, a better people and a better world.

      OBAMA+BIDEN '08!

    16. 116

      Re: magentaii

Barack has already said he wanted to tax those who made over $250,000 a year. He understands how much the middle class is hurting right now and I highly doubt he would heavily raise taxes when Americans are financially hurting so much. Also, you can create many new programs without raising taxes. It's called re-distributing money in the system. Obama is not a war monger like McCain or Bush. He will take a LOT of that Iraq money and put it back where it belongs…in our country helping OUR people. Letting Bush manage government spending was unfortunate, but Obama will clean up his mess when he becomes President….

    17. 117

that was an absolutely amazing speech it seriously made me want to cry nobody could have said it better i effing LOVE obama and cant wait for november whos with me?!

    18. 118

PART ONE - WOW. I thought I would come on here and have a peak at what people thought. Why is there so much negativity? I'm not American citizen but I live in America Legally. This is the first time I've seen these speeches live etc and I have to say that I wasn't blown away by Obama's speech. That said, the criticisms thrown at this guy on here seem slightly ignorant.

Yes he has made many promises. That's politics. If he came on stage and said nothing, made no predictions etc he would be laughed off. This is what politicians do - they promise things. That's what you all (as American citizens) have to base your judgment on. McCain will also do the same tonight.

    19. 119

As for people moaning about promises without explanation on how to achieve these….we wouldn't want to know. It would be boring if he stood there and explained how he was going to cut taxes whilst increasing health care. He is one man. That is why thousands of people are employed within a government - Highly educated people who know the ins and outs of economy! He said a few ways in which he will achieve tax reduction with more investment anyway (listen to it again).

      From what I heard he can bolster the economy by;

      1) Create more jobs with a new improved green energy.
      - This will mean more jobs = less foreclosure, more people spending on consumer goods = more people retain their jobs in retail etc etc
      2) By ensuring that car manufacturers receieve newer technologies so American companies can make 'greener' cars = more jobs = more people spending on consumer goods = more jobs etc etc

    20. 120

I think Barack's speech was powerful, moving, and inspirational. I got chills. I think his daughters are absolutely adorable and I think Michelle is extremely sophisticated and beautiful. Biden is a perfect choice. He has experience, good relations, and seems like a nice guy, in general. I like what Obama stands for, and I cannot even stomach having another Republican in office again. Bush's 8 years were disastrous enough. Time for some change………. Obama has my vote this fall.

    21. 121

Re: jennzzz – YOU ARE AWESOME THANK YOU. COULD NOT AGREE MORE…even though this time around im pretty positive its going to be obama for me, but i agree completely with what youre saying

    22. 122

Re: kinkyandsweet – wow get an education please

    23. 123

If he does raise taxes, it will be for the rich people, you dumb asses. McCain wants tax cuts for CORPORATIONS = ridiculous.. They're rich enough already and most of them have factories/offices in other countries and don't even pay all taxes here!!!! McCain's old ass sucks and he better not fucking win.

    24. 124

      Re: SoupNazi

If he doesn't get elected, it's because this country is not ready and is still too ignorant. There's so many disgusting, judgmental people with their heads up their asses. I hate this fucking country. I hope Obama can come in and restore my faith in the US. And if he loses, I will have less faith than ever. Why would people vote a man into office that is similar to the worst president in history which we've had to deal with for 8 years? I'll just move to Europe if McCain wins.

    25. 125

lol if america votes mccain in for presidency, the whole world will come to realize george bush was no mistake - american people really are that dumb!

      126

I think he can and will follow through with his vision! He has been the first presidential candidate in years to inspire people and that is how you change a country. Not with sticking to a plan that has lead us into a war, a recession, and into debt. The people who back McCain must be the rich bunch who don't want to see that tax cut taken away. OBAMA, OBAMA, OBAMA!

    27. 127

"no infant is better of without its mother" He needs to stay out of people's personal life…everyone knows that family issues are on a case by case basis and some people are better off with one parent or adoptive parents…he should understand that on a personal level

I hate when ppl generalize and just say what the masses want to hear…not that McCain is any better but at least he has his own views whether you like them or not…he owns up to them.

      *Not Voting

    28. 128

This Canadian hopes that Americans get it right this time. Obama for change.

    29. 129

Re: JennSmith – I most definitely was listening to Obama's speech. The real problem is that you believe the lies! Nobody (me) said anything about the system being perfect….we all know there are issues! Some of us have just followed political history longer to know campaign lies when we hear them regardless of which party is spouting them!! Besides, the President is NOT the one really in control of "programs" — "programs" have to be funded and Congress is the one doing the funding. If Congress doesn't fund the program, there is no program!! :)

    30. 130

      Re: magentaii

That is 100% correct. Congress does have to pass 'bills' through. Which is probably why you all don't have better health care during Clinton's reign since congress (Republican) stopped all efforts.

I don't think there were any campaign lies in his speech. I think he believes everything he is saying. Tony Blair learned from his mistakes of promising too much. All I would say, is that the current administration, who claimed that they had 100% proof that weapons of mass destruction were in the hands of Iraq….well that was a lie AND they knew it. I think that is worse. When is Bush going to be held accountable for that by the way?

    31. 131

wow! i am SERIOUSLY appalled by all those who are bitching about obama after the AMAZING speech he made! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! canadians are fucking sick of getting the backlash of the repression YOU are in! OPEN YOUR MINDS and stop being so fucking stuck in your old ways. If McCain is in…then you all deserve what you get: no healthcare, no college education, an economy in the dumps and a rest of the world that hates you. Enjoy your idiocy.

      132

WHAT? The speech was a joke. I was SERIOUSLY disappointed. He was Andrew Shephard from the American President. I expected more…

"I've known Bob Rumson for years, and I've been operating under the assumption that the reason Bob devotes so much time and energy to shouting at the rain was that he simply didn't get it. Well, I was wrong. Bob's problem isn't that he doesn't get it. Bob's problem is that he can't sell it! We have serious problems to solve, and we need serious people to solve them. And whatever your particular problem is, I promise you, Bob Rumson is not the least bit interested in solving it. He is interested in two things and two things only: making you afraid of it and telling you who's to blame for it. That, ladies and gentlemen, is how you win elections."

    33. 133

      Incredible!!! Great president to be

    34. 134

bosmells…you try gving a speech that is supposed ot be the most important in his life…ummm president or not that is a lot of pressure for any himan being… you're a fucking ignorant republican that makes me emabrassed to be an american….that is hwy the whole world hates us …bc of fucknut leadership like bush mcCain and idiot supporters like you

    35. 135
