Coming Soon: Live Action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

80's kids rejoice.

The co-creator of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has confirmed that a new live-action TMNT is in the works.

Looks like he's hoping for Batman-like money blessings!

Here's the latest statement released by the TMNT co-mastermind:

Yes, it is true. Although the CGI film did well enough to warrent a sequel, there has been much talk between Imagi and Warners to do a better "re-invention" (newest Hollywood buzzword) of the TMNT's, in a live action film–like what was done with Batman. Back to basics, back to the origin and the intro of the Shredder, etc…there have been talks, trips to Northampton to talk to Mr Laird, and discussions with the original "first" TMNT film director Steve Barron to come back and do it right–but no official word yet…will keep you posted. Best, Kevin

yay!!!!!!! I like this, I just dont think it can compares with The Dark Knight… btw

  13. 13

I did love them back in the very early 90s. I collected all their trading cards and action figures, and even saw the live action movies they put out…but are they even relevant these days? Did they really have such a cult-following to make it this far? I doubt it. They ought to just let it stay as an icon of the past, and not try to rehash it.

Good! Why should the state pay one red cent for these girls, Bristol Palin included. The FATHERS of these girls should be paying for their expenses!!! DUH perez, big government isn't the girls babydaddy.
Keep talking politics Perez…..all the idiots who agree with you in on this site, don't vote anyway, so your opinion is intersting at best, ignorant at the worst.

  42. 42

  45. 45

um… there is a "live action" tmnt …. in the 90's… im confused… how is this new?

  46. 46

NOOOO…the cgi film was so good, why devolve back to live action?

  47. 47

YES i found TMNT porno online!!!!!!!!!!

  48. 48

The new turtles have sex appeal. If they talk, it's not bestiality, right??
I wanna get on a swing and spin a turtle in a circle under me w/his schlong twirling in me.
    with his muscles. YUM!

  49. 49

Re: PLEZZZ – I disagree. I loved the 80's turtles and tried to hate the new ones w/o pupils. The truth is, the new cartoons are written better and have morals and real story lines. It's really great stuff. Give it another try. (Besides, the new ones are sexy!)

I'd rather a really ramped up, more adult (seriously, most of us who watched it in the early 90's/ late 80's are adults now) CGI film than a live action one. There's just no way of making a non-campy one in live action- ala the live action ones of the 90's. Cute then. lame now.
