Credit crunch victim or is someone living beyond their means?
Famed photographer Annie Liebovitz is $715,000 in debt, according to recently filed court documents.
It's crazy that Annie's in debt. She reportedly gets about $2 million from Vanity Fair magazine every year.
The photog allegedly owes money for unpaid taxes, an aborted book project, and outstanding equipment rental fees.
AND, she's supposedly at least a year overdue in paying for renovations to her Greenwich Village townhouse.
Wonder if she's asked Vanity Fair to give her a bonus for the much-buzzed about pic she snapped of Miley Cyrus?

I have NO pity for rich people that wind up in debt. They have NO excuse. My husband and I don't make anything like that sort of money, but we pay our bills and have a little left over to put towards retirement.

She is probably getting well above the 2 million per year from Vanity Fair. That might a direct fee for so many covers but she is also making plenty of money on usage. Also she is a very bossy person to work for, but so many of the big photographers are. Most are just plain'ol bitches.

I absolutely cannot stand it when celebs try to avoid paying taxes that everyone has to pay. They can't afford it? Did it just slip her mind that she owed several hundred thousand dollars? People who try and manipulate and circumvent the rules of our society just make it worse for everyone else. I actually like Annie Liebovitz and I hope none of the debt came as part of the medical bills and other expenses surrounding the long illness and death of her lover Susan Sontag. If so, perhaps it should remind the world why it's important for the state to recognize gay and lesbian relationships so that when one passes away, they government doesn't recognize you as "just friends".
