Seems like a lot of people out there don't like Republican VP nominee Sarah Palin.
Even John McCain's former adviser, Mike Murphy, thinks she's a joke!
Murphy, who's also a Time columnist and contributes to MSNBC, was on air with Wall Street Journal columnist and former Reagan speechwriter Peggy Noonan this week. And when anchor Chuck Todd cut to a clip, the three of them began talking, not realizing that a technical glitch was allowing viewers nationwide to listen to their comments LIVE!
Todd was caught saying, "I also think the Palin pick is insulting to Kay Bailey Hutchinson, too."
While Murphy commented, "Still McCain can give a version of the Lieberman speech to do himself some good."
And Noonan said, "It's over."
But this is when it gets good. Todd then questions, "Yeah, I mean is she really the most qualified woman they could have turned to?
To which Noonan responds, "The most qualified? No! I think they went for this, excuse me, political bullshit about narratives."
HA!
To which Todd agreed with, "Yeah they went to a narrative," followed by Murphy's comment, "I totally agree."
And it gets funnier, Noonan adds, "Every time the Republicans do that, because that's not where they live and it's not what they're good at, they blow it."
And Murphy responded with, "You know what's really the worst thing about it? The greatness of McCain is no cynicism, and this is cynical."
"This is cynical, and as you called it, gimmicky," added Todd.

Ha Just heard about that too on NPR. Crazy. Just heard her speak. Nothing that she talked about addressed me as a woman. It kind of made me uncomfortable to watch and hear the speech because the GOP convention was pretty much empty. I think I only saw 4 black people. One actually in the audience the rest were security. There is no connection with the youth vote. It's all these Baby Boombers who want to live in a 50's ideology.

I was disappointed by her speech. All potshots no real issues discussed outside of drilling. She was also clearly uncomfortable talking foreign policy as well. Maybe it's b/c she came late on the scene I don;t know. I hoe she is ready in the coming weeks to answer to Biden. She has fight and grit, I like that but her speech didn't say much about her other than that.

Palin gave a KICK ASS speech!! Even CNN and MSNBC (both liberal ubber allas) gave her kudos. Intelligent people who understand domestic and foreign economics and policies know why the McCain/Palin ticket is the way to go.
What was a joke was her speech tonight. It was full of half truths, and down right lies. Not to mention that she was boring as hell. I could barely keep my eyes open. Sarah Palin is a great speaker. I loved her use of sarcasm. I was impressed with her speech. It actually had substance. She pulled it off and really seemed to connect with her audience. What McCain may lack in charisma Palin certainly makes up for.

First of all, Chuck Todd must not know much about politics because Senator K. Hutchinson told I believe Meet the Press that she was not interested in being Vice President.
Palin made good comments which we residents of Illinois know. One, Obama has not written any major legislation in Illinois or the US Senate. Two, the church he belonged to for many years is actually host to many events which discriminate against Hispanic or White members. My friend went to the church and was told by one of the parishioners that White people were not welcome to worship. Three, Barack Obama primarily favored legislation that supported African Americans. If you examine his Illinois voting record, he voted for Hispanics to not get equal representation even though they are the fastest growing population in this country. Plus, he has ties to an unapologetic terrorist, Bill A. Now, if this were a Republican, he'd be dismissed as racist and unsafe a long time ago.
In the future, let's elect a real African-American leader. There are so many. Obama isn't one of them. I wonder if it is too late for HIllary.

I agree with them! It's insulting to Kay Bailey Hutchinson!!! She's an extremely qualified candidate who might be Texas' next governor. Her politics are fairly similar to McCain's (before the election at least), especially when you take into consideration that she's pro-choice (as is McCain, but he keeps it a secret).
