Another Music Group Takes Legal Action Against McCain Campaign
Music makers don't seem to like the McCain/Palin bid for the presidency.
Van Halen spoke out against the McCain's campaign's use of their tune last week.
And, now, rocker ladies Heart have taken legal action against the GOP ticket.
Lawyers for Heart's Ann and Nancy Wilson have issued cease-and-desist letters to the McCain/Palin campaign, demanding that their 1977 hit Barracuda not be used as Palin's theme song.
Barracuda was used on Thursday night both to introduce Palin and on the heels of McCain's acceptance speech, at the close of the Republican National Convention.
Stick to Big and Rich and Daddy Yankee for your tunes, Sarah!

It doesn’t surprise me that Bush was elected twice. There are a lot of ignorant people in the world. Bush has a history of drunk driving and breaking the law and people still voted for him. No matter how much information is dug up about Sarah Palin and her dysfunctional family people will still vote for her. Maybe people like to vote for those they can relate to.

It's actually not illegal. As long as BMI and ASCAP licensing fees are paid, "artists" don't have a say unless their song is used as an official theme song to promote a product or person. Barracuda was not used as a song to promote anything.
Plus, Heart should be glad someone is playing their song at all!
