Dr. Laura's Anti-Palin

Filed under: Politik > John McCain > Sarah Palin

laura__opt1.jpg

The Right's Dr. Laura, the homophobic radio host, plans to vote for John McCain, but….

She's not pleased with the choice of Sarah Palin as VP.

The doc took to her blog and slammed Palin by calling her an unsuitable role model:

I’m stunned - couldn’t the Republican Party find one competent female with adult children to run for Vice President with McCain? I realize his advisors probably didn’t want a “mature” woman, as the Democrats keep harping on his age. But really, what kind of role model is a woman whose fifth child was recently born with a serious issue, Down Syndrome, and then goes back to the job of Governor within days of the birth?

Ouch!

    7

I so agree with her, I like Sarah don't get me wrong but, she will not be able to be a good mom and be V.P! It is a fact and those who think otherwise do not have young children or have forgotten how hard it is to be a mom and have a full time regular job. I have a high executive job, have a nanny, my mom and my husband works shifts different then mine to help with the baby and still that little girl still needs and wants her mommy she is going to be 9 months and still even as adults we all know that mommy always makes us feel better.

  8. 8

Does anyone really care what this whack, hack-job says anymore? Or ever for that matter? Sarah is the shizzzzz right now; Dr. Laura is a never-was.

  9. 9

what the hell is her point? If she doesn't lke Sarah, then why vote for Mcstain

Perez, tell her that she is worthless! thank you

  10. 10

Dr. Laura's a nasty old bitty.

  11. 11

    Re: Andy27

well then I see nothing wrong with pullin out my junk and giving you some dark meat to compensate :)

  12. 12

So it's only the job of the mother to take care of the children? The dad can't take any responsibility in this?

    Awfully sexist, Dr. Laura….

  13. 13

Dr. Laura needs to shut the fuck up.

  14. 14

And why are you dragging her snarled up ass out Perez? She is oh so anti-gay!

  15. 15

    Perez quoting Dr.Laura?…….pretty funny

  16. 16

What the hell is wrong with women?????? WHy Can't a woman and a mother go to work>???? Are we in the 1950's????? What happen to "women can do anything?" This is seriously pissing me off. Fuck you Laura.

  17. bk says – reply to this

    17

Much respect for a republican who isn't a lapdog. I've never heard of one. Thanks for helping the democratic cause.

  18. 18

SP has obviously hired her other children (not the pregnant one though) as full time nannies to her special needs son.

  19. 19

Soooo.. let me see if I understand this correctly.. having a special-needs child makes them unsuitable role models?!

Plus, she's a working mother - going back to work days after child birth is sometimes a necessity..

I'm not a fan of Palin.. but seriously.. if you're going to slam her - find a better reason.

  20. 20

First, who cares about Dr laura - and who the hell is she to tell another women when she feels she is ready to go back to work… personally I think she should STFU!

  21. 21

Re: abercorey – It's possible, might be going to Orlando in the next month or two. You'll have to come down.

    22

Re: Debraw – The republican right would like nothing more than to put us back in the 50s, and that is what they work toward. They are regressive, and have the nerve to steal Obama's "change" platform and make it their own. They don't have a creative bone in their collective backwards body. Fuck narrow minded motherfucking republicans everywhere.

  23. 23

white liberal, middle class women are not represented in this election -they are nothing - and have effectively been turned on each other by the appointment of palin and reactions like dr lauras. Perez - in your opinion- is it worse to be a gay man in the us or a white middle class woman?

  24. 24

dr laura needs to shut her damn mouth. Leave the woman alone! What does her son having trisomy 21 have to do with her running for vice presidency??? My daughter died of trisomy 18 and all mothers of these children are heroes! going through what she went through with that baby, the emotional ups and downs-it's made her a hell of alot stronger than DR LAURA will ever hope to be. She needs to stick to things that are relevant and stop passing judgements on Palin just becausae she is a mother. If she was a father you wouldn't say ANYTHING about her running for vice presidency!

  26. julu says – reply to this

    26

So much for empowering women. She also believes women are responsible for their husband's affairs.

Re: Sammy – You're right. Sarah Palin should just get back in the kitchen and make dinner.

  30. 30

EW Dr.Laura is a mean lady!

All you fags on here are funny!
    Yay gay boys!

  31. 31

I'm not a fan of Palin's but it really annoys me when I see people judging the way she's handling her bidness. No one has the right to say when she should go back to work after having a baby with down syndrome. That is for her to decide. Her world can't stop just because she had a baby with special needs. To say that her going back to work so soon after having a baby makes her a bad role model is unfair. Either way… VOTE OBAMA!!!

  32. 32

I am disgusted by the sexist attacks that are coming towards Pallin, but especially disgusted by the fact that harshest attacks are coming from woman. The statements that these woman are making are ones that you would expect to hear from men in the 1950's. Though I do not agree with Pallin's stance on many issues, nor do I believe that i will vote for her ticket, I respect her many accomplishments and her right to run. Pallin is fortunate enough to have a husband who will be able to be the primary caretake while she is in office. Though it maybe a reverse in gender roles, I hope that we as Americans are not so backwards in our train of thought that we will reject and condemn her unconventional lifestyle.

  33. 33

    Would the good doctor
approve of a woman who not only allows
her husband to have serial affairs,
but the same woman tries to destroy
the reputations of the women to protect
her husband, instead of leaving her lying
    cheating husband?
    (Unless she needed her husband
around so she could ride his coattails
to political office because she could not
    do it on her own?)

  34. 34

… and there you have it, straight from a repube

  35. 35

People are idiots. Why would this "DR. Laura" tell someone else when they are suitable to go back to work? It's none of her business.

Re: julu – I would not go that far but, VP of the country that is alittle out there. Like she states what is she going to chose a sick child or a meeting with world leaders!!

  38. 38

This is ridiculous!!! I hate all these people who think a woman can't have a job and raise a family. Furthermore, when you have responsibilities like Palin did/does, that's what your other family is for. Who says your husband/mother/sister can't help you.

This is a bunch of bull shit spun by someone who couldn't even run a state/the county, even if she took the giant stick out of her ass.

I may not be a fan of Palin's politics… but at least bash her for that… not her decisions in raising a family. The media/other people can spin that however they want.

  39. 39

    I AGREE!!!!!!

  40. 40

SHE'S NOT HOMOPHOBIC YOU MORON, GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT. I LISTEN DAILY AT WORK (NOT THAT I AGREE WITH HER, BUT FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES) AND GAY MEN CALL HER ALL THE TIME FOR ADVICE. SHE'S KIND & HELPS THEM. HER BELIEF IS THAT CHILDREN BELONG IN A MALE/FEMALE HOUSEHOLD. AND SHE'S ENTITLED TO BELIEVE THAT. NOT THAT I AGREE WITH THAT, BUT THAT CERTAINALLY DOESN'T MAKE HER "HOMOPHOBIC".

  41. julu says – reply to this

    41

Re: Sammy – And no woman with children has ever had an important career. Just shut up. Your lucky you get to voice your stupid opinion thanks to women like Sarah Palin.

  42. 42

I got to agree with her. I grew up with a working mom, and always wished I could have my mom at home. If you can stay home, it is better on the kids. Mom or dad, but a parent always in the house DOES make a difference.

Not taking at-least 6 weeks off after giving birth is a lil scary though.

  43. 43

I am a Republican and I COMPLETELY DISAGREE WITH THIS STATEMENT. I am a single mother to an almost 2 year old and work. NOt everyone can stay at home and live that kind of lifestyle. Pisses me off. GO PALIN.

  44. 44

She is not a homophobe, perez! I wish you would check your facts for once! Dr. Laura also says she WILL be voting for McBriliant/Palin, even if she doesn't agree with the VP choice, because voting for Barry would be just too scary.

  45. 45

How dare she make that comment. I have never heard someone say this about a man!

  46. 46

    Re: bk

Yeah, right back to the 50's. Guess that's why they put a STRONG woman on the ticket. Just so they can publicly denounce her power and put her back in the kitchen. The change Obama speaks of is all that will be left in our pockets once his tax and spend mentality comes into play. That big old fuck you goes right back at ya.

  47. Tmack says – reply to this

    47

Palin was a quick poll boosting gut reaction that took 2 days, while Biden was a carefully considered well researched decision in a 2 month process. This alone should tell you who has better approach and decision making skills to lead this country in the right direction. It's not a coincidence that Mccain is talking about change, he just now realizes that that's what people want. By the time he actually develops a plan, the election will be over.

  48. 48

Ooooohhhhhh. . . . . now I get why liberals are so pro-choice! Apparently, they think that once you're a mother, YOU CAN'T WORK!!! Makes total sense now. . .

    ***McCain/Palin2008***

  49. 49

    I concure! She's a horrible mother.

  50. 50

a woman who not only cares for her family but the people of her state and her country.
fuck that stupid bitch. downs syndrome is not life threatening, she can be a mother and a governor at the same time. the same as a man who goes to work after his wife has a baby.

  51. 51

Sarah Palin and her family love that child dearly; he could not have been born to a more support and loving family than this. Each day you can read horror stories about people who lock their children in closets, beat them with anything within reach, sell them to perverts, etc etc etc. People, get over this already!!!! Yes, she's a mother, a wife, a governor, a woman. And she's more than capable of doing the VP job, just as she's done an excellent job for Alaska. Dr. Laura's ideals are her own business, she needs to keep them out of politics.

  52. 52

I agree with Dr. Laura. What kind of woman leaves a child with special needs at home and goes back to work. I dont care if she is running for vp or working at McDonalds. This child has special needs and needs extra comfort from his mother. If McCain wins the she wont really have time to even be in the same state at times. I just think its horrible. I would stay with my child, no matter what. But hey thats just her way of thinking/

  53. 53

And next we'll be hearing from Dr. Phil…. LOL

  54. 54

    Fuck this old cow.

  55. 55

    To the clueless here,
Dr. Laura believes that no woman should work outside of the home until her kids are grown. That would go for Michelle too. She believes all women should stay home, cook, and have a chilled martini waiting for her man when he comes home from a long day at the office. She's against divorce and believes that no divorced woman with kids should enter into another relationship until her kids are grown.
I believe Peresito forgot to clue you in.

  56. 56

She's not even a real Dr.!! Who the hell is she to make a ridiculous comment about her baby. MANY working moms go back to work after having a child. The baby was born in downs not a life threatening ailment that requires 24 hour care. Dr. Laura is a looser.

  57. 57

Dr. Laura should spend more time worrying about her own fucked up child instead of someone else's. Don't get me wrong, I am no fan of Sarah Palin, but not because she isn't a role model. I don't agree with her policies. That alone is the focus of an election. You would think that someone with a title of Dr. would have enough sense to know that. I wonder, who took care of Dr. Laura's son when she was off working?

  58. 58

This is the same racist, homophobic, so-called "doctor" who ALSO said not too long ago that it's the WOMAN'S fault if her husband cheats…she needs to just shut up already!!! I'd love to hear who HER pick would be for President…they need to kick her happy ass off conservative radio, she is a disgrace to the Republican Party!!!

  59. DaLa says – reply to this

    59

It's Sarah's whackadoodle religious beliefs and her inexperience that would make her a bad VP, not her kids. Dr. Laura is just jealous because Sarah is a more attractive version of the same snarky, homophobic, right wing be-hatch she is.

  60. 60

    Re: jadeeyedgirl

Her husband does work full-time. Their 5th child will be a full-time job.

  61. 61

What if it had been a male governor who had gone back to work three days after his Down's Syndrome child was born? Yup, sexism.

  62. 62

    Re: Debraw

Why would you have a child if you are not going to raise it? A day care worker is not the same as a mother.

  63. 63

I can't decide why it's her fault that she had a baby with Down's….it's stupid of this woman to think that something is wrong with a woman because she chose to go back to work after her child was born. She's the governor of her state for heaven's sakes…Down's Syndrome is something you can live with. The children usually turn out pretty good and have excellent personalities. This woman couldn't possibly be a "papered" doc…

  64. 64

Normally, I don't post comments on these posts but have to address the ignorance displayed by all of you who believe Sarah Palin should be at home playing housewife.

She's a horrible candidate and an absolute nutjob, but women will never be equal outside of the home until men are equal in it. Yeah, she's a woman, but who says she needs to take on the role of "mummy dearest" to her plethora of poor, misguided children while the men go out and play politics?

Even though I despise her platform and think she's totally batshit crazy, I acknowledge that for many women, being at home and caring for baby isn't the be-all-end-all of their existance.

  65. 65

Re: hyde30 – EXACTLY! Great point.

  66. 66

I am not going to write much, but I do agree with Dr. Laura. I am not saying a woman cannot have a job or a career, but it if a woman is going to bring a child into the world, the statistics are much better for the child if the mother takes care of the child for the first 4-5 years of their life. A child care worker is NOT a substitute for a mother. The bonding between the mother and child is extremely important to solidify relationships when the child ages.

Also, if you do take care of your husband (chilled martini, heels, makeup, perfume when he comes home), what would be the reason for him to stray? It seems like women tend to believe once they have the wedding ring on their hand they can treat their man like sh**. Trust me, sex with your husband is one of the most enjoyable things in the world - fun, stress relief, and fulfilling. Why would you want to deny your husband, and yourself?

  67. 67

I agree with her. I have a 9 month old and there is no freakin' way I would be able to be a good mom to him, take care of my family, and be second in comman of a country. It's not really possible. She's got so much to worry about, her son, her daughter who's pregnant, the other few kids, especially the one shipping out soon. I think she's very shady and McCain made a terrible choice in VP pick. Let's hope he outlives everyone's expectations.

  68. 68

Dr. Laura (Who isn't an MD) is the most hideous piece of shit this country has ever plopped out of its collective arse.

Who the fuck cares what this old douche thinks about anything?

Here's a little newsflash for y'all. Dr. Laura's own mother was DEAD in her condo for months in the same city where Dr. Laura resides- before she was found. How dare this old cunt lecture anyone on anything to do with families?

  69. 69

Not surprising a Republican would want her to stay at home with the kids; but sad coming from a R woman.

  70. 70

Re: Debraw – You really should STICK AROUND and DEVELOP A BOND with your newborn baby if you intend to have a well developed secure child, ma'am. Since when is it a 50's thing to care enough about your child to BE there instead of hiring someone to push food in one end and clean shit off the other? Do you know anything about infant development and object relations?

  71. 71

Just because someone doesn't believe same sex couples should have children doesn't mean they are homophobic. I would think being homophobic would be against her religion!

  72. 72

Re: PEOPLE HOOKING UP ON THIS SITE – desperate attention whores…. Get checked regularly. Kisses.

  73. 73

    Re: aliciau23 – Yes alicia!

  74. 74

Re: SWEETAZHONAAY – You're young. And obviously unlearned (or didn't pay attention) - So lemme tell ya something: mommy is the MOST important thing in a kiddo's first years. Period. Daddy doesn't LACTATE. The first years are crucial to help kiddo develop a sense of security. You dont need a degree to know that. You could read it in two languages at your local poor people medical clinic.

  75. 75

It's NOT sexist to expect mothers to ACT LIKE MOTHERS. MOTHERS are WOMEN stupid! And in a gay relationship, the kiddo STILL deserves a PARENT around AT ALL TIMES!

  76. 76

Re: julu – Look dummy - when the kiddo is in school and is stepping into a different phase of development, mom can go have her fucking career. My wife (i'm female) and I raise our kiddo together and I can't FATHOM leaving my little baby with a paid caretaker. Havent you seen those fucking nanny shakenbabysyndrome videos? Stop being so selfish and be OBJECTIVE and intelligent, not emotional. What's best for the kid is what is more important than mom's selfishness. She has a new role and has to put kiddo first while they're learning trust/mistrust and bonding. There's no other stage during which this can happen.

  77. 77

    Re: Lulu_The_Cat:) I like LuLu.

  78. 78

I do not think she is a "homopho" she is not for gay marriage but I believe I have heard her offering advice to gays on her radio show in the same way she would others. Just because someone doesn't believe in gay marriage does not make them Homophobic. I believe it is a personal choice. Let people be. So many bigger fish to fry! Didn't she say they should have the same rights as other couples? (keeping marriage out of it) I believe she did, excuse me if I am wrong.

  79. 79

HAHA ANDY27…I though that jacket was horrible too! Good call!
I'm a republican, but this bitch is crazy! WTF! Her books are full of all kinds of complete crazy bullshit! Who cares about her opinion!!

  80. 80

I am a republican and cannot stand this lady, she is everything Feminist's Aren't..I mean just look at the name of her book. She thinks if a Husband Cheats, its the Women who needs to "Properly Care and Feed the Marraige"…she hates Palin because she is a strong intellegent women who has a family and a career..women can do it all…we aren't just mothers!

  81. 81

Re: arrora – She doesn't say stay home forever till your kids are 18. She suggests staying around for the bulk of the development years (around 4 or 5) and being emotionally available. If you can do both and work, go ahead. But don't be in the mind of a mom being perfectly okay w/the belief that "nothing should stand in the way of a woman’s ambition - nothing, including my family." A wife and a mother are important. How dare you insinuate that these roles are unimportant? Jeeze. Breadwinners are important, too. You probably just read ABOUT HER and are like many others who don't research.

  82. julu says – reply to this

    82

Re: ammmber – Do whatever you want with your family. No one is dictating what you should or should not do. But don't think anyone will take you seriously or imagine you to be evolved if you demand that other women follow the path you have taken. What is selfish is to validate yourself and your own actions by demanding the same of others. This whole argument is a bullshit cover anyway. The same women that demand Sarah Palin to stay home to be a good mother are the same women that degrade others for doing so. The bottom line is Sarah Palin is the uber-left's worse nightmare- grasping at straws is not attractive.

  83. 83

NO WAY ARE YOOOOUUUUU ACTUALLY SAYING THAT DR LAURA HAS SOMETHING WORTHWHILE TO SAY.
    .
ISN'T SHE IN FAVOR OF PUBLIC STONING OF HOMOSEXUALS!! MADE STATEMENTS IN THE PAST THAT MOST HOMOSEXUALS ARE ALSO PEDOPHILES!
    .
SHE HAS ALWAYS FELT WOMEN SHOULD NOT WORK OUTSIDE THE HOME, SHOULD NOT HAVE CAREERS AND FAMILIES, SHOULD NOT LET HOMOSEXUALS NEAR THEIR CHILDREN, AND SHOULD NOT BE SO DARNED DEMANDING ON THEIR HUSBANDS BY WANTING ORGASMS!

  84. 84

LAURA IS A DISGRACE TO WOMEN. I WAS GOING TO TRASH HER WITH FURY BUT SHE IS NOT WORTH MY TIME…THERE YOU GO….

  85. 85

I guess when you are an old, washed up, judgemental woman this is the best you can come up with. Can anyone say insignificant? Hey, if you want to see what kind of mother she is, Google her son Deryk and introduce yourself to a truly vile boy. Good job Laura!!!

  86. 86

Re: ammmber – First of all, there are TONS of stay at home dads that take care of the kids (babies too!) while the wifey goes to work. That's what breast pumps and/or formula is for. Not every woman chooses to breast feed therefore a mans inability to lactate is not an issue. Apparently, you are "unlearned" yourself.

  87. 87

Have to agree with Dr. Laura (listen everyday). I am a working Mom, started my own home daycare to be in my kids life, although I am taking care of other peoples kids for 10+ hours a day. Very tired and burnt out by the end of the day. My family pays the price. Make sure when you marry and have kids, your husband can support the whole family. The most important person in a babies life is Mommy. By the way I have heard many callers that are gay call in to the Dr. Laura show about relastionship questions she always gives the same advice as a man/woman relastionship.

  88. 88

Hey, Swinstud, where can I contact you??Re: Swimstud

  89. 89

Darnit, Dr. Laura. We actually agree on something.

  90. 90

i think that is bs!! my mom had four kids the last ones being twin and a 3 and 6 yr old my dad worked full time and she worked full time all through her pregancy up to the last two weeks and her job was demanding too, and she was a awsome mother! just bc u have kids and a job doesnt mean ur a bad mom and cant do both!!!!

  91. 91

Re: Ms. McGillicutty – I agree with you about stay at home dads. But close bonding with mommy is very important. My "lactate" point was not to be taken as something against stay at home dads. I'm very much NOT unlearned by the way. :)

  92. larin says – reply to this

    92

I'm a republican through and through, but i honestly wasn't sure if i was going to vote until i watched sarah palin's acceptance speech - she was phenomenal, and she is an excellent role model. she went back to her job as governor because she had a huge responsibility, and because she is dedicated. there are plenty of good mothers who go back to their jobs after their kids are born.

ps - perez, u should have filed laura's pic under "if u are easily offended"

  93. 93

Re: julu – I am only demanding that women raise their children - not have others PARENT for them. It's okay if your children feel unloved, as long as you guys have two cars, right? Right…

  94. 94

Actually, If the woman has half an effin brain she would know that Sarah Barracuda takes her baby to work with her, breastfeeds, and manages to get her job done…For all these years it has been pushed that women work, but now all of the sudden it's not okay for her to run for president. Down's syndrome children are not all that different from any other children….it takes a little longer for them to do things…

  95. LOONS says – reply to this

    95

Um, hello? Dr. Laura is dead right. The first instinct I had when I saw Palin on t.v. was to shout "HEY, WHO'S MINDING YOUR CHILD?" I lost total respect for her pronto. She is off busy with her career, fixing her beehive and plastering her make-up on every day, and you want to tell me that her baby is okay not being with it's mommy? I don't think so. I have an eight year old and I can barely concentrate on grocery shopping let alone work full-time. Nice way to ignore your children. Way to go. Let's not judge her for ignoring her children because what is the point of a society if we don't judge each other. If we don't judge, what the hell is left? Love, a die-hard femi-nazi.

  96. LOONS says – reply to this

    96

Personally, after seeing what a basket case I became after having a child, also known as mommy-brain, I would never ever ever ever hire a mother if I was in a position to do so. Why would I want someone mentally gone 60% of the time. In fact, I am a single mother and I would especially not hire anyone like me, although I am grateful for all those people who have hired me part-time in the past. Bless your crazy warm hearts!

  97. 97

Dr. Laura is as big a hyprocrite as they come.
    .
For years, she boasts about embracing religion as she turn to modern Jewish orthodoxy. And then a couple years later she decides to no longer be religious because "it interferes with her daily activities". WTF???

I'm tired of Palin being judged for having a very strong work ethic. Isn't not having one (especially in politics) what everyone bitches about? What do you people want? Anyway, I have a few work-a-holic mom friends that are great mothers to their children and have healthy, happy families. Palin's a multi tasker… ooh, that's so terrible let me tell you! Oh and Andy, I agree w/ you on the jacket. Dr. Laura looks like she just got slimed.
