Posh Launches Her Pricey Frocks

Victoria Beckham just unveiled her new collection of dresses to fashion industry rag WWD.
WWD reports that collection of 10 looks 'stay true' to Posh's style.
They are tailored to the body, made with fabrics such as basket-weave cotton, fine gazar and georgette silks and have touches of Indian embroidery and hand-sewn beading.
The collection is reportedly priced between $600 and $1,400 at wholesale.
So, that means by the time it gets to your fave retail outlet expect to pay at least $1,200 for her cheapest piece!

Posh supposedly said the following about her pricey dresses:
“The collection was inspired by the femininity and sophistication of the midcentury silhouette. I’ve always been drawn to intricate, seam-detailed designs, as their structure enhances the flattering shape of a woman’s silhouette. I like to focus on the posture of a woman and how she holds herself, which led me to incorporate features such as modern corsetry and grosgrain details,” she said. “All corsetry is made for comfort and support with the finest materials, and, in addition, there are finer grosgrain belts that are incorporated into the line of the softer constructed dresses to give this effect in a more subtle way, thus enabling women of all sizes to wear my dresses to create a magnificent silhouette.”

Yeah, she also created a dress line that only people of her wealth status would afford. The most expensive dress I've ever purchases was $450 and it was my wedding dress. Thankfully it can be tailored to be used as an evening gown, but I don't think I would purchase another dress that was the same amount or more than a wedding dress. Sorry.
It doesn't surprise me that she would "create" an expensive line of clothing. I don't see her being in favor of selling stuff that normal people could buy. Oh well, her loss, but I'm sure it will still make her some money. Which is a pity.
