Bam! Now you see him, now you don't…and now you're going to see Emeril again! In ten new books, in fact, through a deal with Martha Stewart Omnimedia Inc. - which owns the rights to the Emeril Lagasse book franchise - and publisher HarperCollins.
The kitchen cheerleader is set to release the first book, an edition on indoor and outdoor grilling, in May 2009, and though he's produced twelve books prior with HarperCollins, this will be Emeril's first in four years.
Though the terms of the contract remain undisclosed, it is known that Emeril will receive 50% of all profits to compensate for a modest advance, a new trend in publishing to help combat stagnant book sales and climbing production costs. MSLO Executive chairman Charles Koppelman thinks Emeril is "the perfect author" for the new "cutting-edge book publishing formula."
So far Lagasse has generated $17 million in revenue since MSLO purchased the Emeril franchise for $50 million in February. In addition to the book deal, Emeril writes for a column in the Domestic Queen's Everyday Cooking magazine, has deals for a television show and cookware line, and a regular gig on The Martha Stewart Show.
So let's hope that in addition for a recipe for a fabulous jambalaya, Emeril's also got the ingredients for a comeback hidden under his chef's hat.

From his size, it looks like he likes the food he makes. Which should be encouraging for people visiting his restaurants.

He's on some obscure "green" channel now where his show takes place in a market. It is soooo boring, I couldn't wait to reach for the remote.

I have Emrils pots and pans set which is awesome, but as for watching him on t.v. i hate it. He always seems so smug and boring to me. How he had two shows on the food network, I'll never know. Maybe some people like to watch that.

This is what Perez is know for, and I think he takes charities very seriously and he puts good ones on here. If you don't like the semen drippings then fuck off and don't come on the site. Emeril Lagasse has had a continuing TV show on the cable Food Channel several times a day, and now his new show on cable's Green Channel, where he takes questions from shoppers at Whole Food Markets. Emeril even sits in for Regis from time top time on Kelly's morning show.

Most of us can't afford to have our meals delivered via FedEx like you and we actually have to create our meals from scratch. I betcha our Emeril meals taste better than your meals ala box. But then we also haven't lost the phenom weight you have with your diet meal plan.
Interesting, I would love to find some new receipes. Family is from there.

I notice a lot of these chefs are getting fat as hogs. Mario Vitalli is huge now too. It looks like Emeril is enjoy a bit too much of his own good cooking too.
his live nightly show on the food channel was cancelled this past january, due to low viewership. so now, he's in reruns only on the food channel and the second rate channels along w/martha have picked him up. he's in good company now–just where he belongs!
