A new headliner has just been announced for a big Barack Obama fundraiser on September 16th.
Set to preform for the Presidential hopeful is the diva herself, Barbra Streisand, at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles.
This is also expected to be Obama's final visit to raise money before the general election.
The evening will start at 5:00pm with a dinner for about 250 people at a mansion in Beverly Hills.
Tickets will be on sale for the event for the small price of $28,500!!!
Perezzers will not be attending. Although we did contribute to his campaign, $28k is a bit too much for us (and most EVERYONE ELSE)!
Later that evening, Obama will attend the party at the Beverly Wilshire hotel, which will be followed by Streisand's performance.
It will be co-hosted by the DreamWorks Team (Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen) and will include Andy Spahn, a political consultant.
Tickets for that event are sold separately. They cost only $2,500 per person.
Streisand has been a big supporter for the Democrats. Back in 2000 she sang at a concert for Al Gore and again in 2004 for John Kerry.
This year she even spoke at a fundraiser to support Hillary Clinton, though she then endorsed Obama once he secured the nomination in June.
Babs has even posted a wonderful blog on her official site where she claims Sen. John McCain must think females are stupid.
She writes, “I believe John McCain chose Gov. Palin because he truly believes that women who supported Hillary — an experienced, brilliant, life-long public servant — would vote for him because his Vice President has two x chromosomes. McCain’s selection of Governor Palin is a transparent and irresponsible decision all in the name of trying to win this election. John McCain has served this country. No one in this election is denying him that. But his selection of Governor Palin has demonstrated that he is willing to put his desperation to win this election above the welfare of the American people."

Her explanation then was that it would be pointless to try to persuade Congress to come up with the money. She blamed it on Congress no longer having interest, not lack of her own! Alaska is still and by far the largest per-capita consumer of federal pet-project spending of any state? This is the thrifty woman they speak of?
For a person being touted as such a "morally-guided, family committed, fiscally responsible person…," Palin fails! There are numerous examples to counter almost every positive quality the Republican party is claiming Palin possesses.

McCain and company keep thundering about change…yet the majority of their positions on issues mirror that of George W. Bush…how is this change? McCain complained in his speech at the convention about this country's me-first attitude, yet who comprised the majority of his audience…rich, white-collar, me-first assholes. McCain's tax policies benefit these me-first people, while Obama "would retain all of the Bush tax cuts for families making less than $250,000 a year, but would do away with Bush's cuts for people making more than that. The money raised from tax increases on the wealthy would be redirected by Obama to tax relief for lower-income Americans." Under McCain, wealthy taxpayers (i.e. making around $600,000 or more) would see an average reduction of $48,860! And this coming from an extremely wealthy man…talk about me-first.
This country is in need of a dire facelift on the international front, and McCain and Palin are not the answer. If McCain is elected, there is no doubt in my mind that the rest of the world will continue to view America as a superficial, money-hungry, imperialistic, delusional horde.
