Election coverage on MSNBC is about to get a little more boring!
The lefty version of Bill O'Reilly on Fox News, Keith Olbermann, and Chris Matthews are being ousted from MSNBC's election coverage anchor spots.
We bet Olberman's nemesis Bill O and the Fox News crew are loving this new bit of news!
They're going to be replaced by 'safe' NBC News journo David Gregory.
Olbermann and Matthews are considered to be too lefty-biased.
But, they will continue to contribute to MSNBC's election coverage as analysts. Thankfully.

This is BS. The only reason I watched MSNBC during the conventions was to hear the comments of Olbermann and Matthews (and Rachel Maddow, of course!). Who the fuc* is David Gregory?? as much as i really like olbermann, i have to say that in times of elections and politicalness, that reporters out of everyone are supposed to report everything ,and be unbiased. they are not allowed to talk about affiliations and such. and i think that is the way it should be as to not sway people's votes, as everyone does what the tv tells them to anyway. all policatal reports on news stations should be totally unbiased…including msnbc and fox news. however, that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. it is sad that america has become a flock of sheeps. ****sean masterson in '08! republicrats all the way!!!!!****
I can't stand Gregory. I switched to MSNBC for the conventions BECAUSE of Olbemann and Matthews- I will now switch back to CNN where at least Campbell Brown will tell it like it is.

In that case, it seems they woke up just in time to annoint Obama and rake Hillary over the coals, thus ruining the Democratic ticket. It will be fun to see the blank stares, and hear the sputtering as the "untihinkable" happens in November 2008 - McCain/Palin victory.

The reason Olberman & Mathews got the boot is because Americans do not want to watch severely liberally biased reporting (take a hint Perez). Fox news got almost FOUR TIMES the ratings as MSNBC on their democrat/republican convention coverages!!

I've been continually surprised over the past 2 weeks in my occasional watching of Olberman/Mathews (you know when Fox news is on commercial) to see they are able to actually speak on camera :hm2: –I would have thought that their mouth's being glued to the Obamamessiah's asz would have prevented any attempts at oration. MSNBC is removing Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews as the anchors of live political events, bowing to growing criticism that they are too opinionated to be seen as neutral in the heat of the presidential campaign.
The move, confirmed by spokesmen for both networks, follows increasingly loud complaints about Olbermann's anchor role at the Democratic and Republican conventions. Olbermann, who regularly assails President Bush and GOP nominee John McCain on his "Countdown" program, was effusive in praising the acceptance speech of Democratic nominee Barack Obama. He drew flak Thursday when the Republicans played a video that included a tribute to the victims of the Sept. 11 attacks, saying that if the networks had done that, "we would be rightly eviscerated at all quarters, perhaps by the Republican Party itself, for exploiting the memories of the dead, and perhaps even for trying to evoke that pain again. If you reacted to that videotape the way I did, I apologize."
Olbermann was involved in several on-air incidents during the conventions that drew unwanted attention. He told morning host Joe Scarborough, a former Republican congressman, to "get a shovel" as Scarborough was defending the McCain campaign. And when GOP strategist Mike Murphy was debating Matthews, Olbermann could be heard saying, "Let's wrap him up."

Keith Olbermann has no place in reporting. If he wants to have his own editorial show that's fine but he doesn't belong in front of the camera to report regarding the elections–he's too stupid and biased.
Chris Matthews would have done a thoroughly professional job. Gregory is kind of the white bread kind but he'll definitely not step on anyone's toes and that's what they need to do on coverage–not interject their own opinions.

You don't get it… there is a difference between news reporting/anchoring and punditry/talk shows. O'Reilly is not a reporter… he is the host of his own opinion show and as such, his bias is known. Reporters of news and news anchors, on the other hand, should at least have the appearance of non-partisanship when they report news. If Olbermann/Matthews were exposing their far left bias on their opinion shows, it wouldn't be an issue. It is because they couldn't keep it in the box during their news reporting that led to the demotions. Geez you're dumb.
