This guy just loves being a celebrity. It has probably been killing him to be out of the direct limelight. Trouble is, no one cares about him anymore - despite his pathetic self promoting resurgence!

If you leave when you're on top you're a champion. If you go back then you set yourself up for failure and your original glory will then be diminished because now you've got this loss as part of your history. DUMB idea.

Good for him. If he wants to cycle again, then he should do it. I mean, most of us cycling fans (the real ones) like other legendary bikers better (LeMond, anyone?), but we definitely supported Lance and cheered him on to 7 straight Tour victories. I would have liked to see him retire gracefully ( I wanted Favre to do that too, this coming from a Packer fan….), but what can you do. He's a good athlete. He'll do well.
