The Ohio church that 'played' with Katy Perry's I Kissed a Girl lyrics on its signage to dissuade its girls from kissing other girls ("I kissed a girl and I liked it, then I went to hell") was hit by vandals.

I think the people who put up the orginal message deserved what they got. We need to stop hate. It makes me sick that people who would put up messages like that would call themselves Christain. Christains are supposed to be Christ-Like and their "message" did not reflect the teachings of Christ.

yeah…that shows a lot of class. the church used their freedom of speech rights to say what they wanted to say and when they received the backlash, they took it down. vandalising someone's property is never cool…unless it's your boyfriends car and you caught him with a hooker; then vandalise away!

I agree with what the Christian church did was repellent and non holly at all, but vandalizing a place of prayer is rude to god and to the gay-Christian supporters!

I don't usually agree with vandalism but I have to admire the creativity of the vandals involved in this act! I think it's actually pretty funny, especially since the church had previously put up something so hateful and not very Christian-like. From someone who did more than her fair share of "mischief" back in the day, I would give this a definite thumbs up. Well done!

go to yahoo, type in the churches name, "havens corners church" whatever tha fuck thats supposed to mean… and their website will be listed, make sure its the same pastor…it has their contact info… i sent an email, people should send what they think to these losers, since they felt the need to speak out to the public, let the public speak to them…..WHAT A TWISTED WAY TO TRY TO REACH PEOPLE!!! Katy Perry is not Gay. The song promotes PROMISCUITY, and DISHONESTY. Don't t hink it so wrong to try and steer youth away from that. Maybe the reference to hell is extreme, but that is about it.
They do deserve something along the lines of this but not vandalism. Let them look like the bad guys not everyone else for defacing their property.
Also Katy Perry, is using homosexuality to sell records. And to me that seems wrong. And no one can judge who goes to heaven and hell.

I am religious, although I haven't stepped foot into a church in years (I don't believe that one has to confine their prayers and 'talks with God' within a CERTAIN 4 walls, and only on a Sunday).
Do I believe that THIS church was wrong, with their 'play on words'? Yes, I do. I don't agree with what they stated and how they did it. But, I think that the graffiti artists were wrong, also.
I have to agree with the previous respondents who stated that 'two wrongs don't make a right'.
BTW….for those who e-mailed the church, as txnkvn suggested….keep in mind, that churches (like federal facilities) can, and DO, keep these e-mails and letters for Federal investigations.

Here's a pretty cut and dry run down of that which is RIGHT in God's eyes and that which is WRONG:

And, for the record, God does 'adore' you if you are gay, you were made in his image. But the Bible is clear that unless you turn from your sins with a sincere heart, repent and ask Christ to be the Lord of your life, you will not inherit the kingdom of heaven.
Jesus told Nicodemus, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit." and in Romans 8:9 it says 'Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.' People who have the Holy Spirit are convicted to turn from sins like homosexuality. So, it's up to the individual to seek truth and be willing to accept it even if it means they will have to change some things in their life…. or to harden their hearts and do what they want… in which case, they will burn in hell. The truth isn't always pretty - and Christians are called to speak the TRUTH - no matter how much it hurts. Blessings!

There is nothing wrong with teaching children that homosexuality is wrong and that a song like Katy Perry's is not cool and that only the people who are either hard hearted or ignorant enjoy a message like the one in her song.

If you've looked at the homosexual lifestyle from a religious viewpoint, yes, of COURSE you're going to judge the situation to be "unfavorable" and whatnot, but you should NOT judge those who have chosen that lifestyle. That's the big difference. Just because a church believes and preaches that homosexuality is wrong, it doesn't make them evil or offensive. It's religion, for goodness' sake. Everyone needs to settle down and realize this. Why is it wrong for people to be conservative, religious traditionalists anymore? Isn't that, too, a lifestyle choice? I don't think there's a better way to make a point in Ohio because most people there are close minded.. meaning racist and sexist. for the priest to say it was "a loving warning to teens" … it's just wrong.. the bible wasn't even meant for us anyway, the story that happened so long ago in Jerusalem has nothing to do with us now.. gay people lived then and they live now! if priest really followed the bible then why do they rape little boys? preaching so much that it's wrong makes them think about it and even obsess over it. I personally don't have a "faith" and if all it does is tell me to hate then i don't need one. Why do people hate based on ideas and rules dreamed up by people from the past whom weren't even learned enough to realize they, mankind, weren't the center of the universe. I think the good things about religion that everyone should focus on is love and treating one another with respect. Is it so hard to be happy and enjoy your life and let others enjoy theirs as well?
