The Jonas Brothers React To Russell

The Jonas Brothers weren't bothered by Russell Brand's constant ribbing at the MTV VMAs, they say.
The boys talked to Brand's countrymen at the BBC on Tuesday about being the comic's main target and all the 'purity' jokes.
Nick said, "For us it's cool to see that he recognises we are gentleman."
He even went on to compliment Brand, adding, "I think he did a good job. We saw him on Conan O'Brien and thought he was hilarious."
Kevin says that the Brit comic didn't 'ruin' their night in the slightest: "We had a lot of friends there and everybody's so nice. We had a good time."
And there you have it!

It is great to see that even though they are like 15, that they are mature enough to take it like a grain of salt. These guys have more class and maturity than any one else that was at the VMAs - and they were probably the youngest. This just shows why their fans love them. They are the coolest and they ROCKED at the VMAs. GREAT JOB, NICK, JOE AND KEVIN! WE LOVE YOU!
The MTV Music awards would have been a disaster if it wasn't for Russel, He was the only one with any type of energy. Everyone who performed on stage (besides paramore) sucked balls. Omg Rihanna sounded like a dying bird, Lil wayne looked like a moron, Chrisitna A. looked horrible along with her performance and music choice, they cut off kate perry (the only thing I looked forward to), pink - what can i say, same material different song. It was dumb as all hell, Russel made it worth watching

I think these gentlemen are amazing. It is so good to see that there are some fellas that have stepped up to say that they want to wait until marriage for sex. In our culture, I think there is a double standard when it comes to sex. Men are suppose to go around having sex, they are encouraged and when they don't they are teased like Russell did to the Jonas Brothers. Women, on the other hand, are expected to wear "a white wedding dress" and if not, she is a slut. But, think about what the world would be like if everyone made the same promise to stay pure till marriage. It would be the end of STDs, unwanted pregnacy, and perhaps the divorce rate would go down from this sad 1 out of 2.
Now I admit that Jordan Sparks used the wrong words, it doesn't make you a slut if you have sex but, it can lead down that path.
I say, way to go Jonas Brothers. I love how you stand up for what you believe in even if it is not popular or the social norm. You are a great example for kids around the world who are thinking about making the same choice.

Only Nick is under 18 btw. He is turning 16 this month and Joe is 19, while Kevin is turning 21 in November. Anyway, maturity isn't about age and I think they are very mature, especially Nick and he is the youngest. You don't have to like their music, but I don't think people should make fun of them because of their life choice. There is a double standard when it comes to sex and its frankly depressing.
They're probably well accustomed to ribbing by now, having taken a stance that is unusual these days. Mr. Brand was actually fairly witty in his remarks, and the boys took it in that spirit, but it's still something that he can't understand at all, so far has the world declined in just a few decades. It was only 50 years ago (since it was still common in the 1950's) that the state of purity was almost universally considered desirable and appropriate for young people, and in fact many young people tried to live up to that, not feeling that it was anything unusual. At that time, for anyone at all to profess to be being totally immoral and totally immersed in impurity would have been regarded as almost an admission of criminality, if not insanity. These things were true, as unlikely as they sound, and in fact, these days the opposite is true, and a state of near-depravity seems to be accepted as good and wholesome, while purity and restraint have been tossed in the dumpster. We will see what this collapse of the morality system will produce in time, and in fact we are already seeing some of it. Meanwhile Mr. Brand, apparently all unaware of the former emphasis and acceptance of the idea of continence and self-control, can come up with a lot of jokes about purity, and they will probably be funny, but what a plainly visible barometer or indicator he is of the terrifying plunge into the unknown that the world has taken in the past five decades.

I love how Perez dissed Russell on MTV right after the show for ragging on the Jonas Brother's purity rings but calls it Karma that Sarah Palin doesn't believe in sex ed and her daughter gets pregnant. These people tell their children to abstain and wear purity rings and then refuse to teach safe sex and birth control methods.

Congrats to them for not fighting back. I still think that Russel disrespected them and anyone who believes in what they are doing but whatever. If he mentioned it once that would be fine,but it seems that was the topic of the night and it was just not the right place to be talking about such a personal subject.
And DUKE just to let you know the jonas brothers have a backup band. So you were hearing three guitars,and there was three guitars being played by three different people. Also MTV did not hire extras. All those people running were some dedicated fans,that had been there since the night before or the early morning. I had friends that went and MTV even said a lot of the people were crying right before they were being filmed so yeah no extras.
