Today is also happy. My nephew was born on that horrible day so I always have something positive to think about on 9/11. Happy 7th Nate!
God bless America!!!
RIP to all who were lost on that sad day.
R.I.P.
And my heart goes out to all those affected by this tragedy.
xoxo
The fear I and this country felt that day will forever be inbeded in our brains. I will always remember the americans that died that day. I hope the World has not forgotten this tragidy. God Bless you all on this sad and increadably hard day for us all.
God Bless America
I can't believe it was 7 years ago today..
Can't believe it's been seven years. In some ways it still feels so recent and raw.
NEVER 4get…
Short simple and to the point. A day to remember & reflect.
I can't believe it's been 7 years… Thoughts and prayers with everyone involved in every way and for our country.
I can't believe it has been 7 years! It is something that has changed all our lives forever! So sad. I say a prayer for all the families who have experienced such a great loss!
NEVER FORGET
My thoughts and sympathy to all affected. Rest in Peace.
Yeah, pretend you care people
Sad, but strong
I still get goosebumps when I think about that day and whenever I watch any of the footage from 9/11. And because I live in New Jersey I know so many people who were affected by the events. My dad was suppose to be in NYC that day but the bridge was backed up for miles so thank god he never made it. My uncle is a flight attendant who was suppose to be on one of the planes that went down. And the parents of the kids I babysat for years died in one of the towers. Its soo much more a scary thing on the east coast. REMEMBER WHO IS PROTECTING THIS COUNTRY AND WHO WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO..MCCAIN 08.
may they rest in peace and the Lord look after their families.
Very sad day indeed : (
Just like it was yesterday…..can never get the pictures out of my head.
To those who were lost in this horrific tragedy, you are now angels watching over us…
To the families and friends who are greiving, may you find peace…
To the incredibly brave men and women who worked tirelessly on that day and to those who continue to fight, a simple "thank you" is not enough…
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
Re: State ziti – Do you have any class or respect for others, at all? Give the rhetoric a rest for today. Jeeze.
God I can't belive it was 7 years already. I remember that day so clearly.
My thoughts to everyone who died that day and everyone who lost someone that day.
x x
America is a beautiful country filled with great hearts
Love you all, let's not foget.
Bless America
Also remember the brave service men & women who have been deployed to Afghanistan & Iraq because of this terrorist act, and those who are still fighting for our country's freedom today. FREEDOM ISN'T FREE.
When the next election occurs, terrorists will try to attack us again to test our government & every American who they hate with a passion. Vote for the person you believe can best protect & defend our country.
McCain/Palin '08. Country First.
Living near the airport, I will never forget the eerie sound of nothing…no planes flying overhead… RIP to those brave souls who died 7 years ago today.
Canada remembers
We will be praying for all the victims of that horrible day!
I just walked through WTC on my way to the subway and it's awful. It feels like a mass funeral, there are funeral flower arrangements (the kind you place next to the casket) everywhere and people have put their "missing" signs back up for their loved ones. I had chills the whole time and couldn't wait to get out of there. My heart goes out to the familes who lost loved ones on this day 7 years ago. Everyday when the PATH train pulls into WTC I think about everyone who was lost that day. God bless America!
Re: _Alice_ – Thank You. I was thinking the same thing.
My prayers go out to the families that were effected by this horrible tragedy & to America.
PEACE & LOVE….ALWAYS
LSD
Re: State ziti – STFU YOU FUCKING CUNT.
WHAT'S THIS GOT TO DO WITH ANYTHING.
OBAMA OR MCAIN ASIDE, YOU ARE ALL AMERICANS, THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH LIBERALS OR CONSERVATIVES, HAVE SOME FUCKING RESPECT FOR THE DEAD.
RIP.
wow, 7 years already…never forget.
Re: azz0r – Re: State ziti – suck my cock, assholes. i live in nyc, and i can do without your distasteful, inappropriate rhetoric. thanks, motherfucker.
Always remember. Never forget. 9/11
Re: State ziti –
Let's not make this a day of soapboxing, shall we? For one day, just drop party lines and be an American. You should be embarrassed.
God bless.
So hard to believe that it has been 7 years. I feel weird because today was the same day I came out to my family.
"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
Never forget — I surely won't I was there.
God bless America!
i,ll never forget,and thanks for this posting……………..
RIP those who were lost to us seven years ago this day.
.
It always makes me do a double take because it doesn't feel like that long ago.
I am so proud to be an American. May God give peace to all who lost loved ones on this tragic day.
Me too, P
happy september 11th today my baby turns 18!!!!!!!!!
as someone that lived and worked in NYC at the time today is a really tough day for me. i lost friends. i will never forget this day. rest in peace dear friends…
Yeah everyone is soooo sad…when the world changes for the better than no one that died that day will have died in vein.
God Bless all the families who suffered a loss that day. And thank you President Bush for keeping us safe since then.
I can't stop crying this morning. Today is also the birthday of my deceased grandmother…..
Re: crazymegtay – you know i agree with you. these attacks started this wars ball rolling. i hope we don't lose sight of that. we are fighting to defend those who were murdered because of the terrorists on 9/11, and to make sure it does not happen again. people forget they not only attacked us, they attacked spain, england, and scotland, and it won't stop there unless we do the stopping!
.
I hope we all stop and pray for the victims and for our soldiers today because they are the ones keeping us free and safe from this event happening again.
It was a brilliant, beautiful, blue day…. As I dropped my children off at school, the radio station I was listening to, interupted to say that a plane had hit one of the towers. How? the empire State Building was hit once, but it was in the 30's on a foggy day, no radar. As I drove away, a report came on that a 2nd plane hit the tower. The dj's were confused, how on this beautiful day could someone hit the towers? Then, then they said it was not a small cessna, as thought, but 2 commercial jets. I stopped, shaking, realizing this was not an accident. I went home and witnessed the towers going down. I continued, transfixed on the tv for a week. Both my children had classmates whose fathers were in the towers. Men who lived on the block in front of me and the block behind me were gone. I saw one father, Christopher just 2 days before at a football practice and talked. My husband, who worked in coney island, came home with dust in his hair and his car covered totally with the dust of the WTC. It was a beautiful, blue day that you thought you could see forever. The forever, unfortunatley, ended for over 2000 that day. I will never forget that 'beautiful' day. RIP Lt. C. Sullivan
Re: azz0r – Looks like YOU and your fellow apathetic pal Ziti are the only ones who actually DON'T care. Tell it walkin', assholes.
I miss looking at the twin towers..they were a beautiful sight to see.
Re: Rachel74 –
I completely agree. It should be a day of remembrance regardless of political affiliation.
There have been many people who have been through so much because of this day 7 years ago and the best that we can do is to pray for them, their souls, and our country that this shall never happen again.
Let us not take God out of our country. Once we do, things like this happen.
On this day, this tragic day where too many husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, fathers, sons, mothers, daughters were taken away from us before their time we should not be proselytizing our political agenda’s and pointing fingers. We should be honoring those who were lost through positivity. The weapon that we have that will hurt the people who did this to us most is, positivity and unity, for us as a nation to be doing well, that is the weapon we should be using. We all have the right to our own opinions that is what is so GREAT about America, so lets have those opinions and allow others to have their own no matter how against them we may be. Thank you
Kind of sad how it takes a tragic event for people to actually be nice to each other.. RIP to everyone who lost someone on that day, and for my cousin who faught for our country in Iraq and Afghanistan three times
I will always remember where I was and what I was doing from the moment the first tower was hit. We were on vacation in FL 800 miles from home. God bless the victims and the families and friends of those affected by the tragedy.
We will ALWAYS REMEMBER 9/11!
For me, sometimes it is hard to believe that it's been 7 yrs. seven very painful, difficult years. 9-11 has been a bag of mixed blessings for me personally. We should take a moment for all the brave police officers, firefighters, everyday civilians, the people on those planes, the people in those buildings, the volunteers who have helped. God bless them all.
Re: State ziti – Well, considering that this attack was being planned when Clinton was president, your statement is flawed, un-American, and completely disrespectful to Perez. You know that is not what Perez meant. This isn't a day when someone thinks about whether they are a republican or a democrat. This is a day when someone remembers that we are American, terrorists took the lives of some of our hard-working people, and Americans came together to save lives and help families in need. I knew people that lost their lives in both attacks. Terrorists don't hate our foreign policy as much as they hate our way of life. Today we thank the lord for our freedom and that we are American.
Here's to healing on a tragic day.
I bow my head and pray for the fallen.
we will never forget…god bless
As a New Yorker lucky enough to have not lost someone that horrible day, but to witnessed the events as they happened all I can say may we never forget, and may we always be strong and stand united as one nation.
I remember it only too well. We had a bunch of televisions all in a row in the front lobby of our office (Pierce Promotions). Everyone was standing around then transfixed. The city of Portland had a memorial that Friday uptown. I stayed in the office and wrote a song instead. I still play it every so often. Here are the lyrics:
Our burning Lady
Written by Steven Arango
9/14/01
Started out like any other day.
I pour my coffe and I'm on my way,
and it don't matter the things we do or say.
That's what I said but I'll take it back today.
[Chorus]
Cause today I watched out towers burinin'
We're mired down in this mass confusion.
Better pay attention to things we're learnin,
Cause today we watched while a beautiful lady burned.
Well no more days are gonna be like yesterday.
Don't take for granted the lives around you say,
I love this life and I'm gonna pay it back today.
Cuse no more days are gonna be like yesterday
Standin tall, not afraid to say
It hurts like hell and I couldn't help but break down and pray.
[Chorus]
Cause today I watched out towers burinin'
We're mired down in this mass confusion.
Better pay attention to things we're learnin,
Cause today we watched while a beautiful lady burned.
Today we watched while our towers were burnin
It's more than just a little disconcerting
Cause we watched while our towers were burnin
Today we watched while a beautiful lady burned.
wow—7 years ago I was a senior in high school and classes were put off as we watched everything happen live. I can still feel the fear I felt that day…..
sad
After 7 years it's important that we remember those lost and those who lost loving, healthy people to the hands of men suffacated by conspiracy's and hate.
God Bless America!
My heart truly goes out to all of the innocent victims and their families….
My heart truly goes out to all of the emergency workers who ran into those collapsing buildings to help people………..
I still pray for anyone who was affected in any way by this horrific national tradgedy.
Again, GOD BLESS AMERICA
happy birthday to my ex!! haha
Lest we forget, good for Remeberence/Memorial day, good for today. A great tragedy. Americans, Canadians aswell as other nationalities lost their lives because of a A**HOLE who is bent on world domination. My heart goes out to the families of those who lost their loved ones that day aswell as all the fallen soliders who have fallen to protect us. R.I.P. Die BIN LADEN and rot in Hell
These radical Muslims can kiss my ass along with the slope heads that bombed Pearl Harbor.
God bless the victims.
I remember I was in my office listening to Howard Stern. They started talking about a plane flying into the World Trade Center…and I imagine some tiny propeller plane…
Then a second plane…and I remember thinking, "How is that possible?"
The horror and sickness I felt when I heard the news reports about hi-jacked planes…and realization dawning.
My friend turned to me and said, "Nothing will ever be the same again."
Re: calamari –
You seem classy. Not.
God rest their souls and God bless America!! NEVER FORGET!!!
Re: State ziti – wHAT Does that have to do with a fucking thing?!?! Can't you just remember the loved ones people lost and have a little respect for them and their families?!?!? Leave this damn election aside and let people mourn and pay their respects!
9 11 was an inside job
God Bless America!
My thoughts & prayers are with those whom lost someone on this day, may their souls rest in peace.
God bless America and foreign OIL!! GEORGE BUSH + DONALD RUMSFELD = TERRORIST
BUSH DID THIS SHIT
Re: Lauren_G – Disrespectful to Perez???? Are you serious??? You are an idiot…seriously!
R.I.P never forgotten. It's hard to believe that in just one day the world changed forever. I doubt America and the world will forget the atrocities that happened that day.
Re: 1L – Well said!!!!!!!
Re: calamari –
oh dont take the piss.
r.i.p to everybody who lost their lives that day and my prayers are with the families of those who died x
wow, seven years. I will never forget the sheer terror of not knowing if I would make it home that day and see my family again! God bless those who did not and their loved ones.
watching the remembrances……angry they are reading names in a construction site.
.
.
7 years later, and the gov't bureaucracy stands like a brick wall, blocking timely construction of a proper memorial on the hallowed ground!
.
.do you really think it's wise to hand over control over your healthcare come november??
.
.
.sad sad day
i will never forget.
Let us pray for the brave men and women who lost their lives 7 years ago today. God Bless America!
To state ziRe: State ziti – I'd just like to say (in a respectful way) thanks, to you and everyone else who replied viciously to your vicious comment, for spoiling what could have been a beautiful journal entry
You Jackass!!!! 9/11 gets this tiny ass box!!!!!!! are you fucking kidding me!!!! You are giving Madonna three fucking pictures and 9/11 gets this!!!! Hey do all of us a favor who were there that day and went through it and lost people…don't even bother writing this if you are not going to show the respect it deserves!!!!!
Remember and then.. do what??..Get back into your usual habits of staring ,laughing and commenting at any person who is not a white American? So that even more people hate America…right?
R.I.P To all that lost there lives that day
You are and will always be rembered as hereos
My thoughts with all of the familys who lost on that dreadfull day
God Bless America
All the way From The UK
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Re: Fatso – I was thinking the same thing. Thank you for saying something. I would have expected a little more then a little box that just says 'remembering'. I also feel that maybe this page can cut out the negativity today…on a day like this. To watch a video of Pamela Anderson saying how much she doesn't like Palin, is, at least to me, really wrong on a day like today. I knew people. Lost people. I remember in my own way….but I just wish Perez would take a moment today to realize that maybe today should be a day of positivity instead of his usually stuff. ( I doubt it will happen though)
Re: give_it2me – ARE YOU KIDDING ME???!!!!! ok i know your paranoid type. you think your cell phone is tapped and your neighbor is working for the government and spying on you too, right? GET REAL PEOPLE hahahaha i laugh at the niavety of your comment!!!! The "conspiracy theorists" group needs to relocate to another country!!!!
Re: State ziti – Give it a fucking rest for one day. Rememberance is NOT about being a Democrat or Republican today for God's sake. It was the worst dau in US History for ALL Americans - no matter what your party affliction is. You're an idiot - lay off for the day at least and just TRY to be a good American.
God Bless America! And God Bless our troops who stand up for our country!
Re: MRS.RICKY MARTIN – and you too. take your "latin" husband and go join "give_it2me" in some other country!!!
Re: castinggirl – Oh, for Christ's sake. Everyone remembers in their own way - it was tragic beyond belief. What do you expect? I know that my daughter's school had a "moment of silence" today before classes started - Do you expect them to halt all classes for the day?! No - of course not, as terrible as it was - people mourn and remember in their own way. We remember, we grieve, we mourn and we continue to live our life. Don't hate on Perez - he simply wants us each to take a moment. You are clearly the type of person that would hate NO matter HOW is brought up 9/11.
Re: Lauren_G – VERY well put !!!!!!! thank you
I was in University…getting ready for classes with the t.v on CNN….when it happened…..watching the second plane circling the second tower and thinkin' to my self "that other plane is fly pretty damn close, that's not right"…and bam….looking at the plane dive into the building and feeling nothing but shock and horror…….I will never forget….never…..the days following never seeing a vapor trail of any planes in the air for a week after…so eerie…..
In the Words of Lennon and McCartney…"The Love you Make is equal to the love you take"….Make love not war……
I was born and raised right across the Hudson River in Jersey from where the Towers were. One week before 911 I was visiting my mom from VA with my kids. They were young at the time. My mom wanted me to bring the kids over to Manhattan and show them the towers. We were to go for lunch bring the kids up the beautiful buildings I knew my whole life. BUT…I said "No Ma not this time when we come back next time"…..the rest as they say is history!!!!……true story….I miss those buildings……we use to sit on the old navy piers right across from the Towers and the Statue of Liberty…….Even when I go home today its seems surreal that those Towers are not there…….ks
Re: miss*bizzy –
think for yourself sheep..bhaaa baaa. people have opinions. stop telling them to leave the country because they can think critically and dont eat shit up like you.
