Does the Academy Really Need a Reminder?

They've already squeezed out every Dark Knight penny out of us, but they still want more!
Warner Bros., the Batman studio, has announced that they're re-releasing Dark Knight in theaters this January, the height of Academy Awards voting season.
A studio insider tells the Hollywood Reporter, "It's just a matter of bringing it back as a reminder for people."
Seriously?
We think people might need a rest from Dark Knight. Everyone's been talking about it since the beginning of the year!
We're guessing that Warner will be releasing the Dark Knight on DVD about then, too.
Have the suits ever heard the saying "you can have too much of a good thing"?
Unless….
They release the film with bonus, unseen footage.
Then, we're all for it!

Still haven't seen it, so is it all that and a bag of chips? Tell me if it's good people. Bonus features would be great. I think it'd be great to see a bloppers reel, just because this is a serious type drama, not a comedy. But you know that there are alot of scenes that ended up on the editing room floor.
I Hate seeing them capitolize on death…. This was a good movie- but would u all have flocked to the movie theatre if he was alive… im sure about 70% of us wouldnt… And action movies NEVER get noms for academy awards-

i was going to wait til the film goes to those cheaper 1 or 2dollar theaters.

Oh, they made another Batman Film? I didn't hear a thing about it. They must not have publicised it much.
It's all about the money that they lost because the video game was not released to coincide with the movie. They lost about $100M, due to the game not being available.
It is NOT a reminder…since most people will go to the theater ONCE…and, then wait until the movie comes out on DVD to see it again.
We are being scammed, people.

I actually agree with you for once Perez, I absolutely bummed this film, saw it twice in imax and once in regular cinema, its incredible, was really excited to be waiting a while to see it again - i think the only way they'd get me into the CINEMA to see it again would be with bonus footage. Ill be preordering the dvd of course, but for cinema watching, defo would want bonus footage.

haha no I have a Jeep, but anyways it was a very smart movie….very intricate, I still dont get some parts of it but I was also stoned when I watched it lol

According to the FYE store, it's releasing on DVD December 19th.
Basically, here is the situation… they want to beat TITANIC. That movie did the same thing. It came back in January as well. It all goes to the total grossing and this will make The Dark Knight the #1 grossing movie ever.

Re: Swimstud – That's what I think. I saw parts of a bootleg DVD and it was alright but not the best movie I have ever seen as everyone claims. The Batman franchase is so over rated.

I am hardly a genius when it comes to vehicle makes and models…but, EVEN I can distinguish a jeep from a caddy.

Re: guilty of being white – Sorry but you cant really grasp a film on a bootleg copy…let alone Dark Knight. As for the batman franchise, the story arcs are some of the most interesting and complex of the comic book world, thats why its been done so many times, you could never run out of material. It deserved the reboot by nolan hes done it absolute justice, you should watch the whole film, then if you dont like it after watching it fully then thats fair enough, but at least give it a chance.

Actually, the DVD is going to be on sale right before Christmas. (middle of December) My best friend works at Blockbuster and they are already taking pre-orders for the movie.
Ok honestly the movie to me was not all that great, yeah I only saw it because my Heath was in it. I could not stand the way Bale talked overall the movie was cheesy. I have to say though Heath was amazing in it, but as much as I love Heath I have to say I think Johnny Depp will make a better Joker

well - we all know that the academy is unpredictable and they give the oscars to people that haven't deserved it as much as others - and they're old - so they should be reminded .. (btw over here in europe it's not that topic number 1
)
and it's a great movie - and heath baby deserves it for the role of joker (and not the life time honorary)
Oh c'mon lets face facts - the film stinks! Batman sounds like Patty Simpson, Heath (Bless Him) is not a patch on Jack and its sooooooooooooooooooo long and boring!! Hype works it seems
