Thursday saw part one of Charlie Gibson's interview on ABC with Republican VP nominee Sarah Palin.
And, it turns out that ABC took in some high ratings.
People are really fascinated by this Palin chick and what she has to say - or not say!
According to the Nielsen Media Research, World News With Charles Gibson averaged 9.7 million viewers and a 2.5 rating/10 share in adults 18-49 on Thursday.
That's the highest viewed episode since last February.
ABC News' Nightline even outdid The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and David Letterman's show in the ratings.
Even ABCNews.com got a huge boost in traffic thanks to the set of interview clips they had up there.
They got 3 million page views, including 600,000 streaming videos for the interview.

It's unfortunate most people are so biased in regards to their political views. Few can look at the issues and vote for what is best for the country, not just themselves. According to the Mystic Twins (.com) and their analysis and prediction, McCain/Palin are going to win the election.

though i suppose it was to be expected. it was her first interview, and she got the hardballs thrown right from the start and was bound to be on the defensive. obama has been campaigning and interviewing for almost two years now, so i guess she does seem inexperienced in interviews compared to him. and charlie gibson seemed very condescending on several occasions with the whole "bush doctrine" thing. she seemed like a deer caught in the headlights, but that's exactly what charlie wanted to happen, since there is no one true definition of the "bush doctrine", rather a set of ideas that has developed and changed over time. i was sorry that she wouldn't go into more depth about the israel question, but he asked her a lose-lose question that she was going to look bad at no matter how she answered.
still hoping that she'll appear more comfortable and less defensive in upcoming interviews and not recite her talking points so much. but i'm giving her a pass on this one since it was her first time. hell, i'll give her a pass on everyone since no matter how poorly she does an interview, i still wouldn't switch to obama.
Have you noticed the media calls her "SARAH" not Gov. Palin. I don't hear them refer to the men as John, Barack or Joe…That damn "liberal" media is falling all over themselves.

Yes, those were his "making connections" days. His indoctrination of Chicago politics. He get's a behind the scenes look at how the vote is manipulated. This is where he learned how to get his opponents thrown off the ballot. He's got a plan that's for sure. He can still go down. He's on his heels. This is his first tough campaign. He doesn't normally run against the Republican machine. His US Senate contest was against a fill in candidate. The actual candidate dropped out due to embarrassing details about his divorce. Obama is in new territory.

This was to be expected. Her first interview as a national candidate. It takes time to prove yourself and they will keep coming at her until they feel there's no need to go there anymore. Once she smacks down a couple, the point will be moot. She”s getting advised everyday on everything she needs to know. This is part of the risk of pulling a move like McCain did. I have confidence in her. She showed poise and an ability to have an informed dialogue on the issues. I like all of her positions as proposed going forward. All of the so called scandals will amount to nothing.

It's a nebulous unofficial group of ideas, not ever written down or classified as such, and was something concocted by the press. It has unofficially 4 separate parts (according to Karl Rove). Many have said they wouldn't have known how to respond to that one. Sarah was asking for clarification, and don't pretend YOU would have known what the hell Charlie was asking her. Much has been written about the earmark $$ Alaska received under Palin. Let's look at Obama and Biden. Obama received $330 million in 2008 equaling $25.81 per person in Illinois. Biden took home $330 million for Deleware - a whopping $381.61 per citizen. McCain accepted $0 - ZERO. Alaska in 2008 received $197 million equaling $288.23 per person under Palin. Combined Obama/Biden raked in $660 million for 2008 and McCain/Palin benefited from $197 million - less than 1/3 the amount of the two Democrats. YIKES!
