      i was in chatsworth yesterday trying to get to simi valley with some friends.
      it was by far the worst thing i've seen here since the 94 earthquake.
      the pictures don't do it justice.
      i have never seen so many emergency vehicles in my life.

      Thanks everyone. Luckily for us on the central coast we haven't even seen any rain yet, just a little windy. We are thankful it didn't make it toward us but we are very heartbroken for the people of Houston/Galveston. Best wishes on your recovery efforts.

      My family and I have been praying all night for everyone on that train.. We live right next to the crash in Chatsworth, it's been nonstop noise of sirens and bright lights since yesterday. Thank you for posting this- and my heart goes out for everyone affected by Ike.

      Re: yourazzzuckzbuttermilk – Wow you are a complete idiot! Obama pushed for funds for hurricane Katrina survivors… you know what McCain was doing? Hanging with the President chowing down on some cake… not even concerned that the entire south was affected by that tragedy… do you really think he would do anything about Ike if it does some extreme damage?

      I live in central h-town, medical center area, and Ike really tore us up. Kind thoughts and prayers are definitely needed now because it is REALLY bad here.

      my parents place were messed up from hurricane gustav and now ike is flooding the place, for those who understand how serious an issue this is it is truly sad and a hard time to go through i mean you lose everything

      More than 90% of Houston is without power.
      :(

      houston is getting there. lots of damage… finally got power tonight. the weather after the storm was a blessing. in the 60's at night!!!! we could have had it much worse… i walked out in the morning after the storm and couldn't believe what i saw. then i saw the pictures of galveston days later on my cell phone. now that, i can't believe. devastated! no debris even, it's all gone in some places. i pray for those families…
