Saint Brangelina Gives Generously Again

They're better than us, and it's okay!
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's Jolie-Pitt Foundation has made a $2 million donation to the Global Health Committee to establish a new clinic in Ethiopia for children suffering from AIDs and tuberculosis.
Their daughter, Zahara, was adopted from the African nation.
In a statement, Angelina said, "Our goal is to transfer the success we have had in Cambodia to Ethiopia where people are needlessly dying of tuberculosis, a curable disease, and HIV/AIDS, a treatable disease."
The family's Cambodian center is named after their eldest son, Maddox, who was adopted from that South East Asian country.
They'll name the Ethiopian center after Zahara.
In a statement Brad said, "It is our hope when Zahara is older she will take responsibility of the clinic and continue its mission."
Tuberculosis causes approximately 2 million deaths yearly, and is the largest cause of death worldwide for children and adults with AIDS.
Brad went on to say, "The fact that poor people continue to die in our world today of TB, a curable disease, because of lack of access to drugs and care is unacceptable."
It's good to see that baby picture money is going to good causes!

However, we don't hear about other, we only hear about Brangelina. Though I like them, I really admire celebrities who give to charity quietly and truly out of the goodness of their heart. I love the idea that their children, whom the clinics were named after, would follow through on the philanthropic goals and mission. But, hopefully, it doesn't get 'forced' upon them…because that COULD cause resentment and animosity.

They are such phonies. Why do they have to publicize everything they do? Does anyone else notice how when they want to lay low, they do? Just proves that they live for the media and invite the attention. There are rumors that she is postpartum, so what better way still get publicity without being "caught" by paparazzi. Their charity is nothing more than a tax write off. I can't stand them or his whiny ex-wife.
As some of the commentators have alluded to…YES, they received $14M for the baby photos. BUT, as any money manager can attest to…it is NOT wise to distribute funds IMMEDIATELY after obtaining them. There IS research, to be done (so as not to give donations to charities that could/would 'squander' the money, or to finance a Center that is not even in the 'blueprint' stage).

FFS…would YOU hand over money, to an organization or contractor, before the contractual agreement was drawn up, the blueprints were sketched or the Governments' 'okey dokey' was finalized? I wouldn't.

I donate quite regularly (in fact, I have a check enclosed in an addressed/stamped envelope, which in I am mailing another substantial donation tomorrow, to a VERY worthwhile cause). Is it ANYONE else's business who I am donating to? No. I don't even tell my closest family members. I follow not only MY conscience..but, those causes that 'hold true' for my child. I feel no need to advertise my causes…but, I WILL say that neither I, nor my child, support ANY cause that advocates hatred, in any way, shape or form.
Re: NativeNYer – By the way…I have donated HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of dollars in clothing, goods and money (over the years), and I have NEVER accepted, or declared, a tax 'write off' receipt. I, personally, feel that it is my privilege and duty to do whatever I can, whenever I can, wherever I can.
Granted, it may cost me a few dollars, come tax time…but, I firmly believe that it sets a great example for my child.
