Who writes a memoir at the age of 26????
Serena Williams does!
The tennis champ is set to release her memoir some time in 2009 - by Grand Central Publishing.
It will, of course, chronicle her life story as one of the best women's tennis players.
Editor Karen Kosztolnyik says, "Serena Williams is one of the world's most remarkable athletes. We've watched her rise to No. 1 despite physical and emotional setbacks, and her hard work and determination have inspired legions of fans young and old. Serena will give her memoir a strong motivational slant."
But is that even worth reading?
And, although financials for the book weren't released, some insiders said that the bidding reached at least $1.3 million.
Let's hope that was a good investment - especially in these financially rocky times!

People who will retire in their 30's after great success are allowed to start talking memoirs at 26 years of age. This girl ran played in front of tens of thousands live and millions on TV as a teen. Alone and sweating. Beads flying everywhere. It was great. And now again. After a college career and injuries she comes back like a steamroller. And then her sister and the battles they have played out on legendary center courts. You don't have to be a tennis fan to find something interesting in those stories. I'm hoping it will contain the secrets of their focus and willpower. I feel the need for some silver platters myself.
let's get real. she is a pretty interesting woman - between her tennis career, her family dramas, a fashion line, and maybe being a lesi. and in the life of tennis players, 26 is close to retirement age! #4 andy murray has a book out already and he's, what, 21??
no way in hell i'm paying for it because they talk about her life enough on tv during tennis tournaments, but i might rent it from a library…

Rafa Nadal put a book out in Spain that when he was 20. Tennis players are prodigies, usually washed up by 30. Some burn out at 19, like Jennifer Capriati. Bjorn Borg, one of the greatest in history, melted down completely at 26 and admits now he did not know "how to live" outside tennis.
The Williams sisters have been batting bucket after bucket of tennis balls all long, day in and day since they were in kindergarten. Their father forced them to do this. They've made 40 million bucks on tennis alone. They are not like you and me, biaccches.
It's not like she is writing an autobiography!!!!!! There is a deference between an Autobiography and a memoir. A memoir is about a certain event; whereas an Autobiography is about the entire life. And She is athletic!!! not like all the fatties in the US who only know fat or the superficial model thinness found in magazines. Please do accomplish something great, and write about it.

Ok so i've worked at a tournament where she was playing and her and her sister were the only diva's making ridiculous demands like, "oh we only want purple gatorades and 2 orange ones on our practice court."
