I was slightly excited to hear a cover of Metallica's Unforgiven… the opening was exciting, the mournful tones, the ominous church bell… but as soon as she starts singing, it turns into an Ace of Bass-wannabe techno song! It completely lacks the pain and depth of the original. One of the most meaningful things about the original is the way its sung, simply, but with complex emotions. This version… she's not singing the words, she's not expressing the pain. She's singing to be heard. To glorify herself. One could argue the autobiographical value of the original song, words expressing the original artists' pain in dealing with depression and self-loathing. Without that experience, without that first hand knowledge of what its like to be beaten down, to feel worthless, to be willing to end your life… you cannot give justice to this song.
this is a terrible cover that tries to make Unforgiven up-beat and poppy. The entire intent of the original is missing in this, I don't even want to call it a 'version' it's so far off from the original.

Sweet Christ, that is a godawful terrible cover of an amazing song. Listen to the original Perez, it's waaaaaaaaay more soulful than that garbage. I only made it about halfway through before I had to turn it off.

EPIC FAIL!!! FUCK THAT WAS AWEFUL!!! I think she's alright and has a decent vioce compared to some, but how could you cover THIs song and try to make it up beat! Seriously shameful! And she's singing it like it's poppy, she sings it like Britney would-dead eyed and emotionless…I wanted to hear her belt it and scream a bit, make the song MORE intense, not kill it with every note that passes her lips delivering another fatal blow. As soon as I heard that drum beat I could just picture a bunch of Pasis wannabe dancing in a club to it…and I threw up in my mouth a little bit!

I'm not going to pan her voice because it wasn't that bad. I will say, however, that is about as soulful as caviar and Robin Leach. That back beat thoroughly stripped the heart of the song and it was almost like watching a smiling Sarah Palin wring bunny necks with her bare hands while singing Amazing Grace - just a little frigging freaky and way wrong.
