Zefron Gives It To Ya Good
With every large film festival, there's always celebs on the red carpet taking pictures and giving out autographs.
And when it comes to autographs, people take it seriously. Especially those crazed "professional" autograph collectors.
So, during the 2008 Toronto Film Festival, a survey was taken to find out who was the best and worst celeb autograph signers.
Ater some polling from the fans, photographers, festival volunteers and even the professional autograph seekers, the list was compiled.
And, topping off the list of best signers is Benicio Del Toro. It states, "The Che star was almost everywhere during his few days in Toronto - late nights and early mornings. But Del Toro never refused to sign. When one autograph collector mentioned that Benicio did 21 photos in a row at one stop for him - he was crowned our TIFF ‘08 signing champ."
Also on the best list was Rose McGowan, Kate Beckinsale, Dakota Fanning and Zac Efron who "signed up a storm at his premiere."
As for the list of the worst, Jimmy Page came in on top. "Disappointing for many, considering Page was the one autograph everybody wanted. Jimmy was at least nice and did explain to collectors - from the moment he landed in Toronto that he 'was not doing the autograph thing anymore. Kind of finished with that.' For his three days in Toronto - he basically stuck to his word and signed nothing. At least, almost nothing."
Among the rest of the worst on the red carpet for not signing, are Jessica Biel, Jennifer Aniston, Queen Latifah, John Malkovich, and Kiera Knightley.

Seeing as I live in Toronto and was at the premiere for Easy Virtue which was the film Jessica Biel and Colin Firth starred in, I can tell you that the way the press line was set up, there was no way they could give autographs, besides the fact it was pissing down rain so they couldn't go to the fans across the street. And I'm not kidding it was pouring rain, I had an umbrella and I was soaked by the time I got inside the Elgin. Besides autographs are silly…it's a signature. Unless you're a collector, why do you need their name on a piece of paper?

I just saw Leeann Rimes in concert and she was actually signing autographs while she was on stage in the middle of her songs! I thought that was pretty cool of her. I know she's not such a big name anymore but she put on a good show and that gives me a lot of respect for her.

Those professional autograph seekers are not fans. I wouldn't want to sign their stuff if I were a celeb.

ya know its funny… i think that autograph signing is a part of what your job is as an public figure "celebrity," but I would never, and have never saught after that myself… like why would I want someones signature, i'd rather talk to them. i dont know, i think pictures are cooler. but owning an autograph is like owning their dvd.
but hey, its a classic.
Add Edward Norton to the top of the 'worst' list. I saw him at the red carpet premiere of 'Pride and Glory' and he spent all of 10 seconds at the barricades with his fans. All he did was sign TWO things for a photo-op (and of course, that's the picture that appeared in my local paper the next morning) and then he bolted for the press tent. Fans had been standing in the cold, rain-drenched streets for up to two hours and he pretty much ignored every single one of them. Everyone got really pissed and started screaming his name, but all he did was give us a flimsy wave from his nice, dry press tent. I've since written him off as a complete douchebag.

In this photo, Zacquisha actually looks half-human. Although his type of androgynous look does zero for me, it's so obvious that anyone whose eyes are his best facial feature, needs to wear his hair up and out of his eyes. and here, at least, he's wearing simple, sharp dress clothes. These clothes look a lot better than what he wears around L.A., where his handlers always put him into clothes that project a straight surfer-jockboy image (something that Efron is emphatically NOT).

Of course, nothing of this will matter if Zacquisha doesn't deliver good performances. The buzz from the Toronto Festival was that the movie was not especially noteworthy, and that besides the very good performance of the lead actor who plays Orson Welles, the rest of the cast is not especially noteworthy (several reviewers have stated that the casting of Zacquisha was simply a "stunt" that was meant to try to increase the potential audience for what is, ater, all, an art-house film…..
That is weird. I went to Rose premier and she didn't sign shit. She went to the reporters right away and went straight to inside. I got an autograph from John Malkovitch
and Jim Sturgess….and Kevin Zeger

U know if it was not for the fans those celebrities would not be celebs so they should not forget where they started and what keeps them famous.
BTW Perez, I had the pleasure of hanging with Queen Latifah in Las Vegas at the Foundation Room (a private club) She was doing shots with our party and laughing and just having a good time. It wasn't until we wanted to take photos of her and her girlfriend that she got kinda mad and said no, then her security guy said no pictures. After that we left.
