Both Ryan O'Neal and his troubled son, Redmond, were arrested in Los Angeles on Wednesday morning on drug charges.
Police authorities say they were performing a probation search involving Redmond O'Neal at the actor's Malibu home when deputies found the two in possession of methamphetamine.
Deputies found Redmond in possession of meth and a vial of the drug was found in Ryan O'Neal's bedroom, said Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore.
Maybe it was his son's?????
The detaining occurred at 7:15 a.m. this morning.
Redmond, whose mother is Farrah Fawcett, was arrested last year on charges related to carrying heroin and crystal meth while driving under the influence in Malibu.
He avoided any jail time by agreeing to a plea deal.
He was sentenced to three years probation and $1,688 in fines for the DUI charge.
In yet another case from 2005, Redmond was placed on probation stemming from an arrest on suspicion of methamphetamine and cocaine possession.
Ryan O'Neal was arrested last year on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and negligent discharge of a firearm after firing a gunshot during an argument with another son, Griffin O'Neal.
The actor said he fired a warning shot intended to scare his son.
Ryan is also the father of Tatum O'Neal, yet another crackhead.

That kid didn't stand a chance just like his other kids didn't,they are both greedy vile individules who both put themselves first.
I feel sorry for this family. They've had enough chances to turn their lives around. It's time to put them in jail. Redmond needs to man up…your mom is fighting cancer! You need to help her and not be an added stress in her life! I know parents can only do so much, but anyone who has a history of drug or alcohol dependency in their family really needs to drill it home to their kids that they are more susceptible to this sort of thing.
That family has some serious issues. Ryan was fighting cancer a while back. I would think that would've scared him into staying clean. Redmond has been a screw up since he was a kid and has been in rehab countless times. I don't see him changing his ways anytime soon. What a sad, sad family.

Celebs pay for it in different ways than "regular" people. They lose their never get over their problem until it eventually is the death of them..They dont get the proper punishment and rehadbilitation treatment they deserve and that is sad. They are regular people despite their celebrity they need that punishment in order to get better.

Remember when Ryan was arrested for pulling a gun on his other son Griffin, or vice versa? It was over drugs, too. This family is messed up, completely.
Sounds like a continuous and habitual user to me. So he has gotten in all this trouble and little Paris Hilton had to go to jail? I still think they treated her unfairly in comparison to how other celebs are/were treated. I'm not a Paris fan but I read this shit about other celebs doing far worse and getting a slap on the wrist.

Just like alcohlics who hide bottles everywhere, drug addicts hide thier drugs everywhere. I would bet money that Ryan is just another victim of Redmonds drug addiction. If drugs are found in your house, then you will be arrested, as if they were yours.

You know, this family has been through so much. I don't feel sorry for the guy…I read Tatum O'neal's autobiography, "My Paper Life," and it was shocking to read everything she's been through…I'm surprised she's still alive! Bryan O'neal was and always will be a horrible father…As to Tatum O'neal, she was on Oprah the other day, she's so hopeful, she's got a great personality even after all she's lived.I wish her the best.

Addiction is a family disease. It is not a joking matter. Getting busted sometimes is the only thing that saves peoples lives weather you are famous or not.

Re: Moopig – Redmond is NOT adopted. He is the biological child of Ryan and Farrah Fawcett. I do agree though that environment might play a role. Apparently the one child of Ryan's that was raised primarily by his mother is clean and very successful. As far as I know, same with Tatum's kids.
See, it could all be the trifling son's stuff. All that has to happen is that the police find drugs in the house and if no one fesses up to ownership, the entire household gets arrested. That guy really needs to get his household together… seriously. I would never want to go to jail over some BS someone else in my house did.
