The Governator Says NO!
California's governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, may make state history.
On Tuesday, he told the state's lawmakers that he'll veto the spending budget they planned to send his way.
This would be the first budget veto ever by a governor in modern day California.
The budget proposal is 78 days late!
Arnold said that he if the budget did not include three provisions to ensure the state a reliable rainy-day fund for times of fiscal trouble it will be ousted, reports the LA Times.
The governator also reportedly said that if lawmakers decided to override him (which they were openly planning) he would kill most of the legislation they passed this year.

"Hundreds of bills will be vetoed," Arnold threatened.
This year, California has developed a $15.2-billion budget gap.
Who and what isn't financially challenged these days?????

Politics version of black mail. It sucks though, some state and federal employees are getting paid minimum wage. But at the same time, Arnold has a private jet that flies him from Burbank to Sacramento (and vice versa)almost every day.
This sucks I am waiting payment of a Cal Grant for college which will not get issued until the Governor signs the budget!AARRGGGG!

Hey, the majority of Californians wanted him…now, they have to 'pay the piper'. Although, I don't understand why he would even think about cutting the pay of prison guards to minimum wage. I think that Arnie needs to spend a few days walking the corridors, of one of his prisons…to understand what the guards have to put up with on a daily basis.

I love you Perez but please read up before commenting on politics. Arnold actually isn't the bad guy here. The problem is that California state Assembly Republicans won't vote for any budget that includes new taxes, something Democrats and the moderate Schwarzenegger say the state needs.
Unfortunately in California, any budget needs a super majority of 66% to pass which means that 15 ultra conservatives from the central valley can easily stop a reasonable budget from being passed, and have been the road block for the past 3 months.
The only country without money problems is China!

California is the most F'ed up state in the union and I say that as a resident and tax payer. We pay the second highest taxes in the country, and the highest sales tax. So where does all the money go?
Have you ever heard such immature brats as our governor and assembly outside of a playground? "I'll veto it" "We'll just overrule you" "Then I won't sign any of the bills on my desk". My Boyfriend who takes care of the who family is one of those people and if we don't get paid, we have no way to pay our elecrtic bills, rent, food, gas, car payments, the list goes on. Governor Arnold is a Selfish Greedy Bastard who doesn't give a fuck about the people, he only cares about his own wallet.

PASS THE BUDGET economic times are hard enough and now thousand and thousands of people wont be able to support there family because of this. a $3,000 a month paycheck will become nothing…..is is such an outrage..State Employees already get lower pay then most proffesionals and look how they get treated by the Government….Get ready for some serious protesting, I'm sure you'll see me at the picket line!
