Your country's GOVERNMENTAL welfare organizations should take care of feeding them! oh…I forgot…THAT mone was given to the military and Bush s weapon industry clansmen already!
Re: Bavaria –
"mone" should read "money"…
Good cause, first btw
Thanks for posting this Perez!
I live in Houston and we need all the help we can get!!
THANK YOU PEREZ FOR THIS AS A HOUSTONIAN I WULD LIKE YOUR READERS TO KNOW THAT THERE ARE MANY MANY MANY FAMILIES SUFFERING WITHOUT ELECTRICITY AND WATER- GAS & FOOD IS HARD TO GET LETTING 2 AT A TIME.
THANK YOU FOR ACKNOWLEDGING US I LIVE OUTSIDE OF HOUSTON WE HAVE HAD NO GOVERNEMNT HELP- MY HOUSE IS NOT LIVABLE AND I WAS DENIED FEMA AID- THIS IS LIKE KATRINA HOWEVER NO ONE ON THE NEWS OR GOVERNMENT IS HELPING US- TEXANS ARE STRONG AND WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS BIGGER AND BETTER THEN BEFORE PLEASE KEEP US IN YOUR THOUGHTS & PRAYERS!
First off, Bavaria, your and IDIOT!!!!!!
Now, thank you so much Perez. I live in Texas and the folks hit by Ike need as much help as they can get. It is heart breaking to see what has happened down there and it will take a long time to get back to normal.
All our prayers are with you all.
Thanks so much for posting this! I live in texas and was effected by Hurricane Ike, luckily we weren't hit as hard as everyone…and definately not as bad as Rita tore us a new one, but others were. So thanks to everyone that has kept the victims in mind!
Thank you, Perezito. You're a sweetheart. We really need the help.
Re: Bavaria – Re: Bavaria –
WOW…I really hope if something happens to you and your family/friends, the government is right there to jump in and fix it all…..it's about neighbors helping neighbors……treating others as you would treat them.
TO ALL WHO READ THIS:
As a Houstonian and proud American citizen, my home was spared from major damage, we have a generator providing us with basic electricity.
MILLIONS OF PEOPLE ARE WITHOUT POWER…PEOPLE ARE HELPING AND WORKING LIKE CRAZY TO RESTORE POWER, AND FILL FOOD NEEDS ETC. PLEASE BE PATIENT..EXTREMELY STRESSFUL AND DIFFICULT FOR EVERYONE AFFECTED, HOWEVER, COMPLAINING IS NOT GOING TO MAKE THE SITUATION BETTER…OR GO AWAY
Thank you Perez for helping Texas!!! I live in L.A., grew up in Hollywood. I can not believe no one cares about Texas. Is it because we hate President Bush so much we are turning our backs on his State!
In the past Americas were the first to rush and help those in needs. Nowadays we rush to help other countries but we have turn our back on our own neighbors.
Please Perez make this a bigger issue. Texas needs help!
God bless all those who are in need at this time. May they have hope and may help arrive!
Re: JennioChooBaby –
MY Governemnt DID exactly that when there was great flooding in the Eastern part of Germany a few years ago! Those who lost their HOUSES, e.g., got money from the German government (= tax payers money!) to buil new houses….
Re: tammy59 –
No, YOU are the idiot for NOT demanding from your GOVERNMENT financial help! INSTEAD your tax money is WASTED on illegitimate wars and criminals such as Cheney, ENRON, CARLYLE… etc.
Scruffy, no food or water but you are surfing celebrity web sites on a computer??? Things that make you go, hum…
Thanks Perez! i live in Houston… and there are a lot of people including me with out power and they r telling us we wont get it back till sometime next week! im here at work so that is why i can read ur page! im glad u posted this because luckly my house its ok but there people like my boyfrieds family that the winds blew a tree in to there home and they need help! so thanks for makin people aware!… texas need help! Love u Perez!!!!
Thank you Perez… we are STILL without electricity at home.. and will be for another week or so.. My area was hit pretty hard by Hurricane Ike and Centerpoint Energy has predicted they get our power back on AFTER monday 9/22/08. We are running low on fuel & food. We need all the help that we can get.
Re: yup – If I could slap you.. I would. The only reason we are able to get on this site is because of work.. Centerpoint Energy's primary focus was getting businesses, emergency facilities, and schools their power back to get things back to normal quicker. THANK YOU FOR BEING A SMART ASS WHILE WE ARE TRYING TO GET BACK ON OUR FEET!
Thanks for not giving a shit about those of us still dealing with Gustav.
Re: JennioChooBaby –
AND: No where did I write that one (i.e. Governement finaancial help) does or should AXCLUDE the other (help from citizens!) - just for your information: I myself gave and transferred a little bit of money from Germany to a U.S. /internationally working aid organization
I wonder also, HOW MANY floods, increased number of more and more FIERCE hurricanes it ACTUALLY TAKES until the USA "realizes" that maybe there might possibly be some TRUTH in the world-wide worrying about global warming, wich th eU.S. Governemnt is still DENYING and doing NOTHING against it out of greed and not wanting to change your environmental damanging lifestyle! (heated up oceans for example contribute and are the reason for severe storms and floods!)
I m referring to the "Katrina" catastrophe in New Orleans where I said I gave some money…
Okay, I live near Baton Rouge, LA and there are STILL people without power and this is more than 2 weeks after Gustav! But you don't hear any of that on the news. There are trees down all over down, houses crushed, debris everywhere, but since NOLA wasn't flooded the media packed up and went home, waiting for the next big disaster to occur, i.e. Galveston. I feel for the people in Texas who suffered damage, but to hear that Louisiana "dodged a bullet" with Gustav is maddening. Just because Baton Rougeans (and south Louisianians in general) weren't standing on our rooftops screaming and hollering for FEMA to come do something, it's not a good story. Instead, the day after Gustav, residents were outside, cleaning up their homes and property, helping their neighbors, and doing for THEMSELVES. We had the hours-long lines for gas, food, water, ice, and tarps, but, again, you didn't hear any of that on TV. No Superdome-type horror = NO story. Sorry to go on and on, but where was the "Worthwhile cause" for Louisiana residents?
Re my earlier comments: I don't think anyone here in Baton Rouge expected a fund drive for Gustav victims. We realize that after the way the NOLA Katrina victims behaved, no one would want to give to a Louisiana disaster fund. I know I wouldn't!
thanks perez! it's been a mess… we drove around for 3 days till we finally were able to get our hands on some charcoal and gas fluid to be able to cook outdoors. it's a mess… ice, that took 3 days. we were lucky though, we got electricity on the 3rd day as well and i have friends who are well on their 5th day without it. we need all the help we can get! houston needs to spring back!
BUSINESSES ARE UP AND RUNNING NOT OUR HOUSES- BUSINESS IS SLOW AS MANY ARE NOT ABLE TO RESUME TO THEIR LIVES- GUSTAV & IKE HAVE DONE SO MUCH DAMAGE TO THIS PART OF THE UNITED STATES- I WATCHED THIS ON TV AND COULD NOT RELATE SO I DO NOT EXPECT OTHERS TO- LOUISIANA AND TEXAS WILL REBUILD BIGGER AND BETTER- ALL I AM SAYING IS THAT I AM WORKING TO MEET MY DEDUCTUBLES TO PAY MY HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE & FLOOD INSURANCE- THERE ARE MANY WHO CANNOT NOR DO THEY HAVE THAT MANY AREAS ARE HIT AND HIT HARD AND HELP WITH GAS, FOOD & WATER IS NOT GREAT- REALLY ALL I WAS SAYING WHEN I POSTED WAS THANK YOU TO PEREZ FOR ACKOWLEDGING HURRICANE IKE AND THE NEED FO R HELP FROM HIS READERS- WHEN SHIPMENTS TO OUR PORTS CANNOT COME AND OIL & GAS FROM THE GULF IS NOT AVAILABLE THE UNITED STATES IS GOING TO FEEL THE PAIN FROM HURRICANE IKE AND MANY ARE GOING TO BE SAYING WHAT HURRICANE? WHAT STORM? ATTENTION IS NOT OUT THERE FOR AMERICA TO SEE OR HEAR THE SUFFERING THAT IS HAPPENING HERE. THIS IS MY LAST REPSONSE TO THIS AND I AM HOPING YOU CAN UNDERSTAND AND NOT SAY CRUEL THINGS WHEN THE CONCEPT OF COMPASSION IS NOT AVAILABLE TO YOU.
THANKYOU IF I COULD SLAP HER/HIM I WOULD TO- I LIKE YOU AM AT WORK AND WORKING/SURFING ETC THERE IS POWER AT MY OFFICE- I WAS JUST GLAD TO SEE THAT PEREZ ACKNOWLEDGE THE FOOD BANK BECAUSE THEY NEED HELP- GOOD LUCK TO YOU- HOPEFULLY WE WILL ALL HAVE POWER BY NEXT WEEK
I will be sending money. Too bad I can't be there to volunteer. Washington is too far away…:(
I'm sorry………. gotta call BULLSHIT on this one. If all these posters; in Houston and surrounding areas are doing so bad, WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU POSTING HERE??How do you have power for internet and a PC? I live in Wichita Falls, north of Dallas, and let me tell you……… Houston will be fine. Everyone from here and the surrounding areas are helping out, as well as the State gives ALL victems DOUBLE FOOD STAMPS NO MATTER YOUR INCOME!!! Between FEMA, insurance, and all the State and local help, plus fundraisers and volunteers going there from ALL OVER THE STATE, they are gonna be fine. Have you seen pics on the news of dead people in the streets like Katrina? Nope. Just busted up buildings.
Hell, the town I live in was COMPLETELY WIPED OUT by a tornado on April 10, 1979, Terrible Tuesday. Guess who rebuilt our town? We did. Texas is that way. We do things ourselves and go on with living.
I want to thank you for posting this Perez. I live in Houston and like many people have been without power since early Saturday morning and will not get it back until Monday or later. There are alot of stores running out of food and with the threat of food poisoning, scary to eat out. Luckily my work is up and running so I can check the net for info (as well as surf your page) and soak up A/C. : ) Can't wait for Houston and the surrounding areas to get back to normal. My prayers are with those who were severely affected by Ike. We will bounce back from Ike and Gustav as we are all strong and remember, what does not kill us makes us stronger.
And those talking $hit below, eff off!!
Luv u Perez ; )
Re: Monalicious –
people are at work with power smartass….
Thanks Perez.
I just got my power back a few hours ago after 6 days and I come back and see this.
Thank you.
The red cross is a great way or khou.com also has a place you can donate.
Perez! You are my hero. Thank you for posting this. I also live in Houston and food is so scarce right now. I'll tell you right now I'm going crazy living on crackers and water! Very few stores, gas stations, or fast food/ restaurants are open and I live in the busiest part of the city….Galleria.
Oh…
P.S. Baton Rouge needs help too!! Brother in law lives there, he has power but says half of the city is still out. I fear this will be Houston as well 2 weeks or a month from now. Don't worry Tori, Houston has not forgotten you, we are advertising food banks for Baton Rouge as well
Re: TexasMegs – Thanks TexasMegs! I know what y'all are going through-I was without power for 8 days, and I consider myself one of the lucky ones! Hopefully, all the wonderful workers from across the nation who came down here to help us get power back will now be able to help out our Houston neighbors. If it weren't for them, we'd be in the dark for months. I now know how the Mississippi Gulf coast felt after Katrina-forgotten!! LOL All you saw on TV was NOLA, when they were basically wiped out. Oh, and by the way, I apologize for the evacuees we sent to Houston during Katrina! Hope you all don't hold it against our entire state!
Thank you Perez for posting this. I'm in Houston now and have a five year old son. It has been a horrible experience for us both. There is little food, no electricity and a shortage of gasoline. I work at a university so I have been fortunate enough to have somewhere to go and take my son so he can be out of the heat and able to watch a movie or two to kill time. We truly appreciate you and your willingness to spread the word of our necessities. Linda from Texas
A Houston radio station gave a shout out to Perez Hilton today for mentioning the Houston Food Bank's desperate need for donations. Thanks Perez for being so selfless and remembering those in need.
Re: Monalicious –
Monalicious - you do NOT know what you are talking about. I was there in Wichita Falls during that tornado and FEMA supplied trailers for the people who could not live in their houses. I think you need to go ask someone who was actually there before you shoot off your mouth. And how would we use these food stamps if there are not many stores open? We don't have a problem with money - it is actually stores that are OPEN that is the problem.
I now live in Houston and am very pleased that Perez has posted for the Houston Food Bank. Part of our area does need help if not with money then just some emotional support. Pay it forward!
Thank you for your support, Perez. I will speak for any Houstonians (that haven't posted at least) and thank you for this post. Many of those who truly need this assistnace cannot access a computer to thank themselves. Many of us were greatly humbled by the devastation — in North Houston we all learned that money can only buy so much when there is nothing. I am lucky by comparison as I still have a roof over my head and the capability to drive for gas and ice. I have lived in Houston for just over a year and I will say that I have never seen a community unite in such a way in the wake of such disaster. Before FEMA or any other government or private aid arrived, communities were banding together and providing for others where able (i.e.: food, ice, tree removal, medication, etc). I hope that this assistance goes to those communities that have nothing to give. Please keep those areas in your thoughts. Those of us with food, ice and a roof over our head need not complain about losing TV or A/C for a week or two. We're six weeks out from electricity and I'm still here for the ride!
Thank you so much for posting this perez!
i just got back today from evacuating and houston and galveston need all the help they can get.
Below are a few lines from Obama's books, IN HIS WORDS!
From Dreams of My Father: 'I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.' / 'I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race.' / 'There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white.' / 'It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.' / 'I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa , that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.'
************'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.'**************
Hmmmm….NO THANKS! McCain / Palin 2008!
Thank you Perez! Means a lot to us down in Houston! =]
Re: Monalicious –
Thats not true. No one is getting double foodstamps regardless of income.
Thanks for posting! Things are slowly starting to get back to normal
