What a Wonderful, Gay, Reality World

timgunn.jpg

According to a new report, the number of gay and lesbian personalities on non-scripted TV continues to rise.

From Project Runway to Work Out the gays have hit reality full force as contestants, consultants and judges.

Fagulosity!!!!!!

This, however, is in stark contrast to reports that the number of gay and lesbian characters on scripted TV has declined.

A lot of it sucks anyway.!

Plus, Project Runway star, the openly gay Tim Gunn suggested in a past interview that non-scripted gay portrayals may have more impact than scripted ones, "They’re just very honest portrayals. Versus all the contrivances when they’re scripted.”

And, unlike the narrow minded olden days, advertisers are spending money on the gay-friendly reality shows as they've grown more comfortable with gay themes.

The gays are taking over!

Re: abercorey – my vote is asexual. i like him, but he seems too stiff and uptight to get down and dirty or even suck a dick

It s important that everyone also in the USA can openly live gay/lesbian, cause otherwise they are easy prey to BLACKMAILERS and will possibly give in to blckmailing, which is very CRITICAL when they are in high political or managerial positions!
This is a point that you shoul dnever NEGLECT to take into account - even if you personally are against gays/lesbians!

In the big cities at least in Germany, you can today live openly(!!!) gay as a businessman, politican or "normal" employees/colleague (except for the LOWER uneducated classes or among Muslim immigrants maybe) …A lot of years ago, when they still "hid" their orientation, it was "unuttered common policy" among the German media and journalists NEVER to mention the sexual orientation of a gay/lesbian politician in the press unless he/she outed him-/herself. I wonder why it s so different and so much HATE int he USA against gays/lesbians….(no, I m not one of them, I m straight).

      Woohoo!! Take that homophobes!

Sorry to burst your bubble, but while I'm glad that Tim Gunn is out and gay and talented. Only a portion of the gay community will identify with him. I really like the guy but he doesn't speak for me. Here in the US It's always the Bobby Trendy, fashion, crappy fabulous, shop ’till you drop kind of gay. In Europe they have more imagination and both scripted and non scripted shows have more variety of gays. I still miss the 4 episodes of Normal Ohio with John Goodman playing gay. It really sucks that to be gay on tv you have to be flamingly super fem, or have hints about it. How about a show of the gay single dad who has to raise his kids by himself? Nope, I didn't think so.

Re: MC-Daddy – no intention to offend you (this isn't a site that I go to argue anything serious). But I'll say this; I agree with certain conservative notions as I do more liberal.. it's just unfortunate that there are a LOT of conservatives out there who give open minded people such as yourself a bad name.. same with liberals… same with Christians… etc etc etc… I am speaking to the generalization of the tons of people that I've encountered that don't have to include you. My personal apology to you sir. (but I stand by my light hearted statement) :)

    27. 27

…I may sound like a bigot, but statistically gays have been shown to be more intelligent than us straights, or me straights. It sounds really bad but studies have shown that gays have even improved housing prices in many neighborhoods…and I ain't no "Ordinary Fool".

Why are gays so fucking obsessed with their sexuality preferences. It is beyond boring. Most of us do not give a shit who has sex with whom. You make such a damn deal out of. Get over yourselves ..your sex is no more important than anyone else's.

    36. 36

      yay, taking over! taking over!

ACCORDING TO FORMER ALASKA GOVERNOR TONY KNOWLES:
"WHEN SARAH PALIN WAS THE MAYOR OF WASILLA ALASKA WASILLA CHARGED SEXUAL ASSAULT VICTIMS FOR THE COST OF THE SWAB KITS AND FORENSICS EXAMS NEEDED TO GATHER EVIDENCE FOR PROSECUTING THOSE RAPES OR SEXUAL ASSAULTS."
      *********
Guess in Sarah's world you only deserve justice if you have money!!!
And why does she hate women so much anyway–it's not like her queer-faced hubby would ever leave her for one!!!

    40. 40

I personally don't even think it matters. We're all human and you don't see straight people boasting about their sexual preference or making a huge deal of "coming out". We should all be treated the same. No one should give a shit about your sex life unless it's the person your sleeping with or yourself. It should be kept personal. I don't walk around telling everyone "hey I'm straight!"; I wouldn't expect anybody to care.

It's so hilarious how this country is so prude, yet at the same time everybody is obsessed with sex. Either having sex or sitting on the internet and speculating for hours about whether children and adults alike are virgins or not. It's unnecessary whether your gay, straight, 15 or 35; no one should even care. People need to start worrying about themselves and stop talking trash about people who choose to go against ordinary sexual morals.

Below are a few lines from Obama's books, IN HIS WORDS!
From Dreams of My Father: 'I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.' / 'I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race.' / 'There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white.' / 'It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.' / 'I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa , that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.'
************'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.'**************
      Hmmmm….NO THANKS! McCain / Palin 2008! :-)
