Luke Perry Nixes 90210 Comeback, Remains Douchelike

Earlier this week we mentioned how Jennie Garth opened up to the media about her latest developments on 90210.
The shocker on the show was the revelation of the dad to Kelly's four year-old son.
And, to the surprise of some, it turned out o be Luke Perry's character, Dylan.
So, now, Perry has opened up - slightly - to reporters about being a daddy on the show, as well as a possible cameo.
Perry, who's currently in Sweden working on a film no one will likely see, spoke to reporters on Thursday and made it very clear that he wouldn't be returning to the show.
When asked if he'd make a cameo, he simply said, "That would be a no.”
And when asked what he thought of being named the daddy, he sharply responded with, “They own the name and likeness."
Is is just us, or does someone sound a tad bitter?
He did say, however, that he was thankful to the original show for the amount of success it brought him.
Perry said, "When shows take off and they sort of, you know, become part of the American psyche like that, there is a time when it's happening that you are a little resentful of it because you had no idea it could possibly get that big. When you stop and look at the whole of your life and you look at the whole picture from that perspective I'm very proud of it. It was a lot of fun. It gives you a neat relationship with the American public. It really does put you on a little bit of a closer basis with all kinds of people. The world could use a little more of that."
Well, why not return to the show then???
Instead, he's just making crappy cameos on other shows, like Law & Order: SVU.
Well, if Perry doesn't want to return, we say, bring back Brandon!

I don't blame him at all and I think it's pretty ignorant to criticize him for it. That was a show he did when he was younger. I was successfull at jobs I did when I was younger, but I'm not going back to them. I've moved on, and so has he. Besides, the current show is a joke. The one back then was a right for the moment thing, this one is silly and past it's prime.

Maybe he doesn't want to be known as Dylan McKay for the rest of his life. Maybe he wants to prove he is capable of playing other characters. Anyhow, like Harry said, the show will still stink no matter what.
He was doing road repair work before being cast in 90210 and now suddenly he is above it?!? LOL!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps he is a little more intelligent than the others from the old 90210. He has moved on with his life and could care less. So what if he is filming a movie in Sweden that may not be that great. At least he is working and happy with what he is doing.

I can see Luke eventually caving, at least for a cameo. If Shannon did it, everyone should! Jason, Luke, Tori, Brian Austin Green - they all need to pass through, because none of them would even be known without the show! They owe it to the show, and especially their fans.

If you NEED a Luke Perry fix you can always watch Jeremiah on SciFi - Thursday nights, 7-11.
If they want Perry, make him a good offer: script approval, guest cast approval, he directs the episode(s) and he gets final cut. And of course offer at least $100K.

Im not going to try to argue this, because none of them actually OWE anyone anything, but I think it would be nice for them to suck up their pride and at least make an appearance. Yeah, its a cheesy ass show, but so was the original. I know they probably want to distance themselves from it, but like I said, they owe a LARGE majority of whatever "fame" and fans they have to the show. Is it too much to ask that they each make a cameo. 3 minutes of screen time is not going to make or break their careers, but it would mean something to true (original) 90210 fans.
I actually wish they would have left 90210 alone and let the original cast have the closure they had in the finale…..but they didnt. I just want Dylan and Kelly to be together….but they cant if he wont come back.

I respect his decision. I think he realizes what a mistake it was to remake the show in the first place. Give him props for that at least. That show is horrible. They probably would have done better by running re-runs of the original.
