Actors Still Working Without A Contract - Power Shift At SAG

Change is in the air.
In a recent election, the 'old guard' at SAG, the biggest actors union, got the boot.
The 'change' party, Unite for Strength, won 6 of the 11 seats up for grabs.
Actors Amy Brenneman and Adam Arkin lead the way for Unite for Strength as the top vote-getters. Other 'party' winners are Ken Howard, Pamela Reed and former Gray's Anatomy star Kate Walsh .
Unite for Strength received backing from high-profile actors such as Marcia Cross, Sally Field, Tom Hanks, Felicity Huffman, William H. Macy, Mark Ruffalo and Gary Sinise.
Looks like the rebel party's message rang true with voters. Unite for Strength claimed that the 'old guard', Membership First, bungled the contract negotiations with the studios.
The suits supposedly plan to reach out to the new winners immediately to work out a new SAG contract.
Don't screw the actors!

For every member of SAG there are 200 drama students and wannabee actors that could do the job just as well, Maybe there would be more money to pay them if a very few like Angelina Jolie, Nichole Kidman and Brad Pitt didn't take $20,000 salaries to star in movies that bomb.
$20,000 = $20,000,000
I am as pro-union as they come….but, I am so tired of hearing about the woes of actors/actresses who make more money, in one day, than I make in one month.
While I would never deny that I enjoy the shows/movies…I CAN do without them. I lived through the days of 4 TV channels (which was HELL during the Nixon impeachment) and going to the theater about once every 5 months…and, I can do it again. Let them go out on strike. I am tired of the 'emotional blackmail/extortion'.
