A Blown Tire May Have Caused Crash

Experts are saying that a blown tire may have been the cause of the shocking plane crash that has left Travis Barker and DJ AM in the hospital and four others dead.
National Transportation Safety Board member Debbie Hersman said that a voice on the cockpit recording can be heard responding to a blown tire. The crew intended to abort takeoff when they heard a sound consistent with a blown tire. At that point, the pilot and co-pilot may have had mere seconds to react.
While nothing is certain yet, pieces of tire were found on the runway 2,800 feet down the 6,800 feet long runway. The tiny Learjet - which is so small that it cannot complete direct transoceanic flights - may have already been traveling 90mph when it lost the tire, and quickly losing runway, the crew would have had only moments to decide whether to abort or take off.
The plane requires at least 5,000 feet to get airborne, and at a top speed of 138mph, that runaway goes in the blink of an eye.
The recording also indicates that attempts to get off the ground had failed, sending the plan careening off the runway, into a fence, across a highway and into an embankment, bursting into flames.
Travis and DJ AM received support from fans this weekend, who gathered outside the hosptial with signs of inspiration.
We wish them a speedy recovery as well!
Investigations continue to determine the exact cause and timeline of the accident. In the meantime, Dr. Mullins adds, "Anybody who can survive a plane crash is pretty lucky." And we agree!

Can you imagine — these guys might have died from this. I read that DJ AM had burns on his head and arm. I'm sure he had burns on the face too and if he's lucky - 2nd degree burns that will heal and go back to normal.
Travis was burned on the torso. I hope the burns weren't too severe. I hope when the dr says "full recovery" that he means they will go back to normal. May God bless those who lost their lives and the loved ones they leave behind.
Shanna most feel special to be the person to be by his side right now. To stand by your man, for better or worst. hopefully this will just make them even stronger and closer.

In other words … if he has 3rd degree burns over more than 50% of his body he will probably not make it! 3rd degree is the worst! You don’t feel like anything has happened … you feel fine, you can talk and most times people with 3rd degree burns don’t even understand why they can’t just get up and go home … there is NO PAIN! That is the problem … you have damaged your nerve endings to the point where there is no feeling. When you do start to heal it is terribly painful … the nerve endings start to figure out what has happened … the skin gets a charred and black and they have to start a process called debredding …. That is when they soak you in a tub of water and have to peel off all the burned skin areas so new skin can grow … it stinks and it is soooooo painful! I can’t even begin to explain the kind of pain a person feels with 3rd degree burns. Of all the hospital time I did the burn unit was the worst!

Ive know Dj AM for a very long time and the love is amazing that you have all shown:)
He is doing the best he can, 12 percent of his face was burned and Travis is doing well too. Just a sad day that both will overcome. And we all miss and wil always miss the people that passed that night:(
