It's not safe to ride the GreyHound buses anymore,damn. Canadians, what's with the violence, you're not Americans. (ha!ha!).

I'm in Canada and thank God I fly instead; no bus for me!! The airline security is waaaay safer; I just returned form the Holy Land and you wouldn't believe the security there; we even had armed guards and a police escort on the tour buses in Egypt and Israel!!

I live in Winnipeg, and incidents these severe occur next to never. Considering you can sneak just about everything onto a bus, it's a miracle more of these incidents haven't happened.

Its sad, but there is violence everywhere. Saying "wTF Canada…" well look at any other country, say the US, when we have a slow non-viiolent news day, we show a bunch of stuff that has happened there. There is more people there and happens more often. We have less people and when something does happen, they make it sound so huge!

I don't get it. How does this story apply to your site Perez? It was a stabbing, they happen all the time, everywhere, and it was nothing like the last greyhound stabbing. There weren't even any details.

The thing with Canada is that they do not do as many media coverage as the US. Like every time I am watching the American news, they talk about things that cause cancer and the latest shooting in a state. But here in Canada there are people who get stabbed and shot, but the media doesn't cover it the same as the American media. I know that this has been bad event but I believe that there are going to be some actions taken. Hopefully.
Now how's PETA going to try and jump on this one?

Damn and I was going to take the bus next weekend.. guess that won't be happening anymore..
It is definately scarey to see something like this happening so soon after the first major incident.
I live in Portage la Prairie (about 15 minutes from where the beheading happened) and I guess it's just disheartening to see that Greyhound obviously hasn't done a thing to make bus travel safer.

after the portage la prairie incident, i stopped taking the bus and trains. And now another stabbing? I probably won't ever take one again. Its so close to home!
I'm really angry about this. Why did the cops put this guy on the bus without escorting him to his destination? And why did the cops put this guy on the bus without frisking him first for weapons. If I was the victim, I would sue the cops for negligence, sue the mental institution for stating that he was "OK to travel and was no threat to others" when obviously he wasn't, and sue Greyhound.
Its been rumored often that cops or other city officials often give undesirables a one way ticket out of town, Good Job Dudes!
I live in Canada and my boyfriend and I moved to a different province. I had to stay in town for an extra day while he moved our stuff and I took the bus the next day. After I arrived (safely) I heard about all these bus attacks on the news. (The one that happened in Manitoba where the guy beheaded another guy) It was kind of scary and I wonder if maybe some of those people could have been at the bus transfer.
i ride the greyhound up here alllll the time. Ya they could add more security, but 2 attacks in 2 months out of…..YEARS of service, think about it. There are way more school shootsings, or road rage shootings in the states then there are stabbings on a grey hound. yes it's bad but the first guy had a mental problem. this guy was put on the bus by police, and violated parole. you can't start telling canadians they are turning into americans there aren't even close to as many violent attacks here
