When Celebrities Do Good

Here's another celebrity using her name and fame for good.

Mia Farrow was in Haiti this past Sunday as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador meeting with victims of the storms that have hit the small country in the past few weeks.

The storms have left over 300 people dead.

Farrow told the AFP, "I saw a city mostly submerged in deep mud (and) people still stranded on roof tops. Other people are still living in school and in a church."

Sad.

She added, "There is a sense of confusion, loss and anger. The people in the shelters had not eaten for days, (there is) not enough water coming — of course there is in no sanitation of any kind."

Farrow promised to spread the news of the horrible destruction and death that the country is facing once she returned to the U.S.

Mia said, "My hope is to be a good steward of this information, to take this message to the United States and the international community with the hope that the conscience of the world will respond."

Let's hope her efforts help.

Mia appears to be a class act and a wonderfully caring person. Contrast that with that perv she used to live with…the one actors line up to work for. Yuchh. Always on Mia's side.

love me some mia. she looks great for her age and she was ama-zing in gatsby.

I wouldn't trust the Red Cross to help out. It is really pretty horrendous in Cuba also. The people in that country are waiting on a signature from Condaleeza Rice to bring over food and supplies. The hurricane season has really wrecked havoc here too.

Mia's efforts in helping others are very much appreciated. Bless her and her family.

and sparks nemesis……..Allen wasnt that girls father. and she was an adult when they fell for each other. I wish people would get the full story. Allen is a great guy and a great artist who GAVE Mia a career after the 60's.

    Love her.

I was scrolling fast and I thought that, that was Michelle Williams.
Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

  13. 13

She is a great person, she takes care of many special needs children and doesn't seek publicity for herself, or sell photos for money unlike other celebs.

  14. 14

The fact that her youngest child Ronan is publicly known as a humanitarian at only 21 rather than a socialite show's her not only as a caring and responsible mother but someone who practices what she preaches unlike Bob Geldof and similar celeb parents.

And THIS is who Angelina Jolie is imitating…

Mia Farrow is the original humanitarian - and SINGLE, adoptive/parent of 11 children!
