Microsoft's Seinfeld Replacements
Now that the Jerry Seinfeld "phase" is out of the way, expect to see Eva Longoria, Pharrell, and famed Indian doc Deepak Chopra in the new Microsoft commercials.
The new ad featuring Eva, Pharrel and the doc directly attack Apple's "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" ads that portray the PC as boring and out of touch.
They reportedly also seek to counter Apple's 'elitist' vibe by featuring everyday PC users, such as scientists and teachers.
Sounds like a political ad!!
According to a new report, someone at Microsoft's ad agency, Crispin Porter and Bogusky, said that another ad featuring the Seinfeld and Bill Gates had already been filmed, but the company had decided not to broadcast it (cuz it probably sucked hard too!).
We saw the new Microsoft ad during the Emmys.

We remember Eva and her husband, Tony Parker, in the ad (they were chilling on chaise lounges), but we don't remember seeing Pharrel or Chopra.

I saw it and saw Pharrell and Eva. No idea who Chopra is. I wasn't that impressed. It was better than the Seinfeld ads, but… that's not a high bar to break.
I think this is all a lost cause.
With all that money, she can't get a dress that fits, or even some double-sided tape to keep it from gapping?! Honestly.
Pharrell uses the iPhone as well as Macs. They must have paid well. Whatever, apple products are far more superior!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did not watch the emmy's, but did see that commercial. I think I turned to the emmy channel right when that commercial was on, stopped and watched, was thinking wow, this is a slam on the mac commercial and everyone in the commercial came across so real.
Dude whatever, macs rule. I got one after years of PCs and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Windows is sooo 1995.

Seinfeld and his Shoshanna-a-like wife, owe a refund. Microsoft needs to get the money back from the pr firm as well.
For the love of God watch the ads before you run them this time! I can't understand a company of the size of Microsoft could have such bad taste.

I don't like the Microsoft ads - I understand that they are trying to appeal to "the average Joe," but somehow they just end up making you feel like Microsoft really doesn't understand "the average Joe," and probably never will. They need someone like Justin Long, or that guy from Dell (you know, "Dude, you're gettin' a Dell!"
i thought it was brilliant. obviously it was effective because people are definetely talking about it. anywayz, i was sick of all the hate towards PCs. I have one, and its awesome! even though i do love those commercials haha with justin long. but im glad PC fired back. the mac commercials have gone on for soo long now, im surprised they didnt do it sooner.
they have been running that ad for a while. and chopra ended the commercial. way to pay attention. you think your cutting edge, you are a week behind on everything you "discover" and post on here.

I really like the I'm a PC ad. It is MUCH better than the Seinfeld/Gates ads. They make being a PC user seem hip. Deepak Chopra's line: "I'm a human being. Not a human doing." (Or whatever) is great.

Hey, I just saw the ad! It starts with the PC guy from the Mac ads and have various people saying they're a PC. I thinks it's kind of cool Microsoft lured the PC guy away like that but don't Mac own him and his "character"? I loved the ad and am glad PC's are responding back to those Mac ads. Nonetheless, I am a Mac girl.
The commercial with Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates was so lame, I could have done a better job. It is typical American business practice to "directly attack Apple" and to "counter Apple's elitist vibe"; instead of just cleverly demonstrating the values and advantages of your own product.

ARGH! I am not a fan on this commercial because it's marketing BS. A Mac is technically a PC! Mac/Linux/Windows are just different OS's! I remember eva, tony, and pharrell in the commercial. Totally didn't notice Chopra, I will pay attention more next time.
this one time i was a pc and i have regretted it ever since. i am a mac and bias but, that commercial was a pretty lame and elementary way of making pc's look "cooler."
i guess now that eva has her own "ring" she can stop wearing "tony's" around her neck.
i dont like them and now i have even more of a reason to never be a pc again.
