She's the biggest celebrity in the world….but is she ready to lead?

  4. 4

    that's a lot

  5. 5

People like her. She seems to relate to people which is what any politician wants to be able to do. Seems like Obama isnt relating to very many people these days. Could it be that the bloom is off the rose?

Re: Nickysue – PLEASE she doesn't relate to majority of American people she relates to REPUBLICANS and CONSERVATISTS! Get your facts straight!

  18. 18

I like her, she seems very sweet and down to earth - A much needed change for Washington is desperately needed, and McCain/Palin is the answer!

Not the biggest Celebrity, we'll leave that title to BO. See, you have your very own lil "motivator" on your side, his racially deviding motives motivated me to vote Republican this year.

Re: mamajud – post 15- LOL, no not bad. She might turn out to be awesome. But I'm pessimistic. I have ZERO faith in the dems and repubs. Our candidates suck. Couldn't we come up with something better than Obama and McCain? I think we could, we just need a "Tea Party!" Woo-hoo, party time!

  25. 25

There were not 60K in attendance, more like 20-25K. The local fire marshal is a reknowned redneck and diehard McCain supporter, and they always overestimate their crowd sizes.

Are there any pictures of the rally? Didn;t think so.

Too bad they all leave once Palin leaves…no one wants to hear Grampy McLame put the crowd to sleep…

Palin is a joke, a man with her resume wouldn't have remotely been considered for the job.

  26. 26

Re: _Alice_ – hi sista…. i like the new pensive alice…i switched mine the other day, now it finally goes up when i decide to go back to the 1st one??…

  27. 27

People also like talk show hosts, but that doesnt mean I want them running the country…

What are Palin's credentials for VP?

5 colleges in 6 years for one journalism degree
    Sportcaster part time
Mayor of a dinky town five times smaller than the local college and leaving it in debt over $22 million when there was no debt when she took office.
Governor of one of the smallest populated states for less than two years.

Oh, but she can see Russia from her house, and is pro-Jezuz Chrysler.

God help the country if they get elected, that's all I have to say…God help us all.

  28. kjen says – reply to this

Good for Palin!!!!! Biden pulled in just 2,000 people when he stumped in the same area recently. I like her, and there is no denying that she does in fact have more experience than Obama and everyone knows it…they may not want to admit it, but they know it. Obama's only response to his experience was how he is running his campaign which has thousands of people…oh bullshit. Everybody with a brain knows that candidates don't actually "run" their own campaigns, he gets told where he's gonna be and what he's having for lunch every day by somebody who knows more about what's going on than he does…what a weak answer, just like so many others he has given. I'm just glad McCain is finally running ads tying Obama to some of his shady mentors and so-called friends. About damn time!

  29. 29

I don't see her as anything other than cold, manipulative, and very calculating. I don't relate to her at all, nor do I consider her ready to be the leader of the most powerful country in the world. There is no way I want someone who has to take a crash course in foreign policy in charge of this country. If she had a shred of self respect she would have refused to be the token woman candidate when she has to know that she is not qualified to be Vice President. Sure, she seems like she'd be great to hang out with, but I can't see her cracking her folksy down home soccer mom jokes while sitting around the table with Muslim leaders. I think McCain did this country a huge disservice by choosing her as his running mate.

  30. 30

Thanks for not saying anything mean about her lately, Perez.

  31. 31

Re: _Alice_ – i'm always up for a good party…lol…afraid not this time around…..for now, the political terrorists have seized control……i'm soooo over it

  32. 32

Just because she seems down to earth and normal doesn't mean she should be second in command. Everyone thought Bush was just an average, nice guy and look where that got us. I don't know about you but I like my politicians to be more informed and knowledgeable about the world than I am. I don't want someone who I can sit down and talk to about sports or whatever, I want someone who's going to do what's in the best interest of the country. For me, that means Obama!

  33. 33

·If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council
and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you're qualified to
become the country's second highest ranking executive.
While governor, she staunchly advocated abstinence only, with no other
option in sex education in the state's school system while her unwed teen
    daughter ends up pregnant

    Re: WatchGuardian
I guess you could say that a "white" man with as little experience as Obama wouldn't have been considered either. Hillary Clinton has more experience in her pinky than Obama has in his whole body…it's a shame he got the nom and not her. Before Obama got the nod the Dems were ranting about how he was inexperienced and had never done a damn thing as a Senator, suddenly that changes when he gets the nomination, suddenly he's experienced? At least the former Hillary supporters I know have wised up and switched to McCain and the one's that haven't (who were also the same ones screaming Obama was an idiot before he was selected) are now claiming he's the smartest man on the planet. All they do now is bash Palin, they don't bash McCain, because they know he IS experienced.

  35. 35

Of course she is ready to lead! She was a governor and a mayor. And I'd go to see her too. It is ridiculous that anyone could criticize her experience or anything in comparison to Obama. She is the number 2 and he is number 1. The guy has done nothing for Illinois, and I know because I am from there. He's been a US Senator for what 100 weeks where he has campaigned the whole time for President. It's just interesting how when it comes to Barack the glass is always half full and with the Republicans and discussing what they have to offer, it's always half empty. You want a guy with no foreign relations experience that belonged to a bigoted church for 20 years to lead this country. Ridiculous.

I'm glad you posted. I have a friend from Illinois and she said the same thing about him, that he didn't do a darn thing.

  39. 39

is that 60,000 or "60,000" ?? Because the McCain Camp. has been caught make up numbers of their attendees lately. They even stated a number that was thousands above what even the fire marshal would allow at the venue.

  40. 40

and who cares if she is relatable? shouldn't the president be someone who is better than all of us?? who is capable of things we never dreamed possible?? If I wanted someone like my mom to run the country I would start campaigning for her! She is INSANELY relatable and she was a PTA mom for way longer than a year!!!!!

  41. 41

She was speaking at The Villages, which is part of Lady Lake. The Villages is a huge retirement community of 55 and over, and if you search about this place, you will see that there has been a huge influx of sexually transmitted diseases. This totally sounds like a joke, but it's not, search the net. Evidently, the old folks like to get down with massive swinger parties. This is the perfect place for an conservative to push their (narrow-minded, ultimately retarded) views.

Do you all think that Palin would be pro-sex ed for the elderly who obviously really need it?

    Vote Obama!

  43. 43

    they're idiots

  44. 44

    Re: kjen

Thank you. Yeah, Barack Obama is from my hometown and I lived in his district at one point. Worthless and says a lot and does nothing. He never showed up to vote. He voted present over 125 times. That is not voting no or yes so he can't tie his name to a vote. On top of that, the only reason why he is where he is today is because the Illinois Republican Party fell apart. Jack Ryan was killing Obama in the polls and then his wife made up a bunch of allegations about Jack being in a sex club saying things, which weren't entirely true according to him. So, Republicans took him out and ran Alan Keyes with only a short time to contest Obama. They were going to run Mike Ditka, and he would have won, but he didn't want his personal life destroyed. So, if Obama does win this election, he has Jeri Ryan to thank. He's worthless though. He had like 10 years Illinois State Senate experience and he was not a well known Democrat. He showed no signs of leadership until he spoke at the convention. I think it is weird that no one new him Illinois until that convention. Now people are comparing him to Jesus. Funny, I don't think Jesus discriminated against Whites and Hispanics and supported partial birth abortions.

Well I just think it's insane that he happened to give a great speech a few years back and now he's the best the Dems have. I just understand him getting the nomination over Hillary…blew my mind. He'd make a great preacher but I don't think he's ready for the Oval Office. Of course, that's just my opinion and I know I'm in the minority here.

  64. 64

  66. 66

My great-grandma lives in a retirement community near Orlando, they told everyone that if they would get in the bus they would take them to see Bob Hope and his wife and they would all get a free fudgecicle - they all did it, but all they got were Palin and McCain. Oh well, it's one way to boost crowds!

  67. 67

    Re: kjen

Kjen, you are not in the minority. The media and entertainment are liberal, and don't represent what most of Americans are feeling. While the polls may also show the race as close or Obama or McCain ahead, they are not fullproof either. Second, Obama has little experience and even more importantly, no foreign relations. Then, he flip flops on everything. One minute he says he will meet the foreign governments without conditions, then there will be. One minute he is for drilling, the next he is against it. The only thing consistent about him is he talks a lot and does nothing. On top of that, he thinks people are stupid enough to believe he had nothing to do with the racist church he belonged to for twenty years and was married in, that he is not friend with terrorist Bill Ayers, and he also downplays that he is half white and has discriminated against whites and Hispanics in his Illinois State Senate law voting. He is a joke. He also never mentions Carol Mosley Braun who is the first African-American Female US Senator. She's from Illinois and also ran for President. And his racist wife said this is the first time she is proud of this country. She wasn't proud about Carol Mosely Braun's election 10 years earlier. Come on, they are a joke to people from Illinois and this country.

  68. 68

Everyone here seems to be so Pro Obama! The idea that Obama could be the President is actually scary to me. The amount of money I pay in taxes is astonishing and i am in no way wealthy. I am just an average person trying to get by. If the income tax is increased i don't know if I can even survive. I think I have the right to control my own money and government intervention is a violation of my freedom. I don't want McCain or Palin to be in office either! Sorry guys there is not that much difference between liberals and conservatives. Vote libertarian if you really want a change. Barr 08' Liberty for America No your Rights…Know who else is on the ballot!

  70. 70

    Re: jason1010
    Democrats are just as hypocritical.
Barack Obama has no experience. That is true. How is him appointing Sarah Palin hypocritical. She is not running for President, she's running for VP because she was appointed. She's spent two years in Alaska doing her job, versus being on Meet the Press and getting his face in front of people.
John McCain has always been a reformer. It's just a campaign slogan. And its smart for him to counter Obama with it. He has voted against his party and earmarks. Barack has not. How does Barack change America when he has offered no significant legislation in many years in the Illinois State Senate and two years in the US. McCain has changed Washington.
Obama has courted the spotlight with book deals and appearances on shows. Plus, he has courted the Hollywood vote. He's basically known for running for President. Conversely, Palin is drawing people in. She didn't ask to be a hit, she just is. Barack has gone after popularity for years.
He is a joke man. You will look back one day and say what the heck was I thinking. The only reason to vote for him is protesting. There's no agenda.

  71. 71

I think they are hyping up the numbers a bit - 60,000? The last time they had a large crowd, guess who gave the numbers figure to the press? McCain's campaign. So I don't believe it. I'm sure there were a lot of people but I hardly doubt 60,000 showed up for her - and definitely not for him. puleez.

  72. 72

Yes, old people. They would have showed up if you promised to show them a shiny penny.

  73. 73

What did her words look like?

  74. 74

  75. 75

She is the new Evita Peron. (Without the Che, thanks God) People, real people are totally in love with her, while the Hollywood "elite" hate her, why? BECAUSE SHE IS MORE POPULAR THAN THEM!…60 thousand people and is not even an acceptance speech!!! Whao…The more they hate Sarah, the more I love her. The more they make fun of her, the more I want to protect her. Why can they understand that? Bunch of losers!!!

  76. 76

Heck yeah!! She's more of a darlin' than Mary Magdeline, Phylis Scafley and celine Dion all rolled into one!!
Who care if them damn Hillary supporters hate her — they're just jealous cause the woman can go huntin, dress a mosse out on the tundra and be back at a governors meeting still looking hawt!!
Who cares if she don't know ever little detail about the Constitution or VPing, she's as REAL as they come man. Anyways, the Secretary of State will take care of foreign policy so them people asking her all that cr*p are just bitter.
    Palin 2008 WOO DOGGY!!

  77. 77

Re: Whatupperez – You got that right, man. Hell yeah!! Who cares if Obama was elected by voters to be the candidate. that dont mean nothin. They think voters know better than John McCain, who fought in NAM and went through prison??!! So what if he appointed her as his running mate. Them voters in the primaries don't know shit anyways.
And who the hell cares if Obama is super edcated and she only has a journalism degree. She's REAL , mand. Someone we can relate to in teh White House… and hell John McCain may have 13 cars and 7 or more houses but that boy is still good folks. As real and honest as the day is long. Palin/McCain 2008!!!

  78. 78

Re: kjen – "he didn't do a darn thing. " Well, you're right that he dodn't do _some things_… he diodn't push for a bridge to nowhere then claim he didn't when the public outcry started. he didn't push aerial slaughter of animals. He didn't claim the founding fathers were familiar with pledge of Alliegance was. etc etc etc etc etc.
For you to believe that he 'didn't do a darn thing', you'd have to be so biased you wouldn't read the ample information available. Oh wait
