Bill on Hillary and Barack
Monday on ABC's The View, former President Bill Clinton said that although he understands and respects Obama's choice in running mate, he believes his wife, New York Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, “would have been the best politically.”
The former White House bad boy said that he likes Senator Biden and acknowledged that selecting a running mate is a "personal choice." He also added that Hillary didn't really want to be Obama's running mate and that she loves being a "senator from New York."

Despite his remarks, Bill remained vague on whether or not he thought his wife would have been a better choice because she is a woman, securing the now wavering Democratic female vote.
He diplomatically explained:
“Voting is a complicated process. We give our allegiances to candidates and parties and issues for all kinds of reasons. We vote for some people because we like them even though we disagree with them. We vote for some people because we identify with them on race or gender.
“It’s not an entirely rational process, and it is different for everybody.”
That's not exactly reassuring!

I am not sure who I am voting for, or even if I am voting. I feel that Obama does not want my vote. McCain does want my vote, but the Republican party is 180 degrees in opposition to most of my beliefs.
Why didn't Obama pick Hillary as his running mate? Does he feel he does not need her supporters?
I'm a democrat and a woman, and I can assure you my support for Barack Obama has not wavered.

Public transportation. In a city like Chicago, families of four (especially those with two members who aren't old enough to drive) don't need more than one vehicle.

first thing I probably agree with. And please Perez, don't go with the 'not reasuring' bit. You quickly changed to obama after Hillary lost the nomination. You were very Hillary because of her views on gay rights. A poll should 98% of blacks backing obama-do you think that they are doing this because they totally back his beliefs or because he is the first black candidate. The same thing with the women drifting over to Palin because she is a woman, not on her beliefs. We are more of an emotional being than logical beings.

I agree. Here's some facts about precious Obama. From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working. Even then he mostly voted present. 143 days on the job!
After 143 days of actual work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be President after only 143 days.
In contrast, John McCain's has logged 26 years in Congress, 22 years of military service including 1,966 days in captivity as a POW in Hanoi Hiton. They can't go after McCain on experience, he has it. So they go after Palin who in reality has logged more on-the-job hours than Obama.

Well, let's see here: Obama wins, the scary bitch has to wait another 8 years (please no) before she can probably run for president. McCain wins, and she only has to wait 4 years. It still blows my mind that Clinton was not selected as VP…and Bill is absolutely right that she would have been the best choice politically. This woman had the support of 18 million people which would have translated as 18 million votes for Barack Obama (more than likely)….
You totally left out the "best politically, IN THE SHORT TERM". Obama is a long term strategist with a vision. He makes careful, calculated decisions weighing every option so that he can make the best choice. Joe Biden, chair of the foreign relations committee and almost 30 years of experience proves that. It took Obama 3 months to select his VP, it took McCain 15 minutes.
