Quick Thinking Saved AM and Travis

A policeman on the scene of the tragic accident that seriously injured/burned DJ AM and Travis Barker revealed how the duo were able to escape the flame-engulfed plane, "[Travis and Adam] told me that they slid down the wing on the right side of the plane."
The cop also revealed that the two were on fire and that they, "tackled each other and put each other out."
He went on to say that when he got to the site Travis and AM were pacing and in shock.
And, contrary to other reports, the official said the pair weren't naked.
Though shirtless, Travis had on shorts, a sock and his black hat on. AM still had his boxer shorts on.
The pair have been undergoing procedures this week to treat their burns.
We wish the two a speedy recovery!

Most likely because planes are probably not going to be driven by some drunk, reckless person. And if they are, then there's something wrong with the way they train pilots these days.

once they left they had no time to turn back. you can't say what happened and how the scenerie was, so maybe they thought there was a way to escape and then help, or they thought the others would follow, but i'm sure they will hate temselves for the rest of their lives for not helping, but also i'm sure that if they'd tried, they would have been burned, too.

Except that story contradicts eyewitness reports. You know the people who were there when the plane came skidding across the highway, not the cops who showed up later or the two guys who were on fire. Seems a little fishy to me that those two escaped while the other two in the passenger area did not, I guess they were just lucky.

My Uncle died at the same hospital these two young men are at. Not because of the care at the hospital. The team at the hospital were outstanding and gave my uncle excellent care for 3 weeks before he passed away. My Uncle was lifted in a boom box working on a sign in Myrtle Beach where he lived, and an electric mishap caught him on fire and while trying to put himself out, he fell from the boom box onto the ground and was still on fire. It was a terrifying and horrible accident. It is a horrific thing to be literally on fire and trying to put the flames out on your own burning body.
I wish these two men, who I really follow in their careers and admire (Travis is amazingggg)…..I pray very much for a very quick recovery. I pray for their mental injuries as well…..having to mourn their friends and also trying to handle the pain of the wreck. God bless you both and your families.
