Steven Spielberg RULES

Steven Spielberg and wife Kate Capshaw are totally awesome!
PerezHilton.com has learned exclusively that the superstar director and his wife just donated $100,000.00 to help strike down Prop 8 in California, the November ballot initiative which seeks to take away the right to marry from gays and lesbians in the state.
Spielberg says:
"By writing discrimination into our state constitution, Proposition 8 seeks to eliminate the right of each and every citizen in our state to marry regardless of sexual orientation. Such discrimination has NO place in California's constitution, or any other."
We totally heart them!
Bruce Cohen - producer of Oscar-winning American Beauty and a vehement NO ON 8 activist - had this to add:
"It's phenomenal that Kate and Steven are affirming their unwavering commitment to equality in such a significant a way. More than 15 years ago, Steven was the first person in Hollywood who I came out to, news which he greeted with his full love and support then and ever since.
"It is my fervent hope that other entertainment industry leaders will follow the lead of Brad Pitt and the Spielbergs and fight to maintain equal rights for all Californians."
Bruce Cohen married his partner, Gabriel Catone, in June.
Cohen and his filmmaking partner Dan Jinks produced Milk, a film recounting the life of assassinated San Francisco city supervisor and activist Harvey Milk, who was also openly gay. The film is slated for release later this year.
All the celebrity support is really fabulous!
If you're in California, make sure to exercise your right to vote!
We still feel like we need MORE support, though.
Ellen & Portia, where are you??????

LISTEN TO PROPOSITION "LETTYB" IT PROPOSES YOU PUT SOME INTERESTING SHIT ON HERE PEREZ! FUCKTARD!
Re: mama of 2 – HEY FRINGE IS ON TONITE! WHOOHOO!
Pray that McCain/.Palin do not win the elections, because if they do our rights as citizens will be in their crazy hands! Also, you all should never have voted Arnold in as governor.
Bruce Cohen did not direct AB, it was Sam Mendes
how much has Mario Lavadeira given? ZERO point ZERO!
F inner city youth, homelessness or poverty! Donate all your money so gay people can be together!!!
Um…Sam Mendes directed "American Beauty," not Bruce Cohen.
VOTE YES ON PROP 8.
boo!
You liberals crack me up. If the proposition passes it will be from the will of the people not government. If the Masses think Marriage should be defined as a man marring a women then that's how it should be.
Also if you had a clue you'd understand McCain and Palin don't have control over this issue. This is decided on at the state level. Just like abortion will be is Roe Verse Wade is ever overturned. Each state will be able to put it on a ballad!!!
He really needz to buy that wife of his a make over, dang.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Re: LettyB –
Hi LettyB
how U doin?
zzzzzzzzzzz
zzzzzzzzz
Re: LettyB –
I find this post very newsworthy…..thank you.
You homos crack me up, you think you marrying is equal rights? What makes you so special that you deserve equality? Should people that like to fuck horses have equality too? how about pedophiles should they get equality? necrophiliacs should probably have it too. If you say that one sexually deviant lifestyle deserves equality then all of them should or you're just discriminating again. If you wanna fuck another guy in the ass, that's your perogative, but don't think you should get any special treatment or even "equality" for doing it.
FUCKING SLOW PEREZ!
Re: abercorey – SHUT UP ABERCRACKY!
Um, Sam Mendes directed American Beauty…I think Bruch Cohen was just a producer.
Re: krazihottkelli/bitchygrl – HEY GIRL!!!
i love speilburg now:):):):):)

Amy Irving should have killed him when she had the chance!
Re: LettyB – i know. we just got a new tivo and i am freaking out it will mess up and not tape it.

Re: WakeUpPeople – no shit we shouldnt have voted in arnold! what happened is a bunch of dumbasses rented the terminator and thought he was hot stuff and got him in. not all of us did though, trust me!
slow.
Go Steven.
…it's f*cking 2008 cretins. Everyone should have the same rights. Everyone should be able to have "We've Only Just Begun" at their wedding if they so choose. Or "Smoke On The Water" or anything they want to hear…And I know it's up to the 'people'. What I don't understand is how so many people can be so uneducated.
WOW Perez your a big celeb these days I actually challenge you to PUT SOME OF YOUR MONEY where your MOUTH IS……… Give some money PEREZ. I bet you don't care about it that much do you ?
yawns.
Maybe some of these movie stars should donate some money to help Galveston due to the storm. Pretty sad that no one has even mentioned helping Galveston. Galveston was hit just as hard as New Orleans was in Katrina. No one is even helping the people here. I think that it is horrible. I havent even seen anything anywhere that Angela, or any of the others have done a thing. I guess people only pick and choose who deseres help. Pretty sad.. We dont even get the media coverage anymore. Everyone has just forgotten, or never even cared. Very sad. I mean its great that Mia Farrow and Brad Pitt are helping Haiti, but we have places here in the United States that need help too. I guess people only want to help places where they can get attention. they should open their eyes and realisie that a lot of people here in Galveston lost everything and still dont have sewage, power, or water. they do not even have homes anymorw. Wake up people.
Re: swampthing – The equality, that homosexuals are seeking with Prop 8, is the right to love and marry who they want….with all of the same rights, support and benefits that are afforded to heterosexual marriages. It has nothing, whatsoever, to do with "sexually deviant lifestyle". Pick up a newspaper every now and again…you will be simply amazed at what you can learn.
BTW…putting homosexuals in the same category with pedo's, necro's, and those into animals, is seriously repugnant and moronic.
How much money are you giving Perez????????????
For my dear life i canot imagine why a so-called-civilized country like America would not allow same-sex-marriages. Witht he dovorce rate as high as it is, noone takes heterosexual marriage serious anymore. Why bother about same-sex?
Re: swampthing – Pedophiles are NOT consenting adults. You are really ignorant to compare the two. What a dumb fuck homophobe! It seems homophobia and stupidity go hand in hand!
Perez, Where are you? How much have you donated?
You didn't learn this exclusively. Popsquire posted this story several hours before you did!
YEA! The Spielbergs are SO cool! The walk the walk! He is the greatest movie maker of our times!
I just donated $125.00 of my summer chore money, that I was saving for a new laptop. Too important of a fight to lose!
Have you seen the new NO on 8 commercials with the mom and dad - it's great.
NO on 8 EQUALITY for ALL!!!!
The sad thing is the right wing and the Fundies are going around to churches all over the country for money. The Evangelicals from the south are pouring money into YES on 8. WTF should they be giving out of state money to a California election. The money is pouring in from them.
If you are out of state and support NO on 8 - go to the No on 8 web page and level the playing field - make a donation for $5.00 or $10.00!
how much have you donated perez? you can't call out other people unless you've donated too. you make a lot of money from all these ad sales so you should have donated $100,000 too
Re: swampthing – dude shut the fuck up, theres a difference between a consenting adult and a child or an animal
Re: KOOL KID – I recall reading, in a previous post, that you are 13yo. Yeah, uh huh. Why aren't you in school?
Re: swampthing – Stupid, stupid!!
I'm all for gay marriage, and I'm a Republican. It should be legal. Just please, can't you call it something else. Find another name for it so that, for one thing, little kids aren't confused (try explaining it to a 4-year-old and you'll see what I mean). I think you'd get it legalized nearly everywhere if everything were the same except calling it "marriage". Suggestions, anyone?
100,000 to him is like a dollar to most people so don't split a gut genuflecking Perez.
Re: boiledchimp – You "are all for gay marriage", but yet you would like it called something else?? Have you ever heard the saying "A rose by any other name…"? You are either ALL for equality between hetero and homo marriages…or not. There shouldn't be conditions and/or restrictions imposed, for it to happen.
I have a half-brother and a half-sister who are gay. We grew up in the same household, and they are more family to me, than my blood relatives. They 'came out' long before my child was born….in fact, I had a more difficult time 'explaining' my gay sibs to my soon-to-be hubby (who WAS a severe homophobe, at the time. And, he, in time, grew to love and respect them. Not only as family…but, as friends). My son always knew that he had an Aunt Dawn and 'Uncle' Tammy…and an Uncle Ed and 'Aunt' Greg (names are changed to protect the 'innocent' and oblivious lol)…and, to this day, he has never used a derogatory remark towards homosexuals. Not because he doesn't know any different…but, because it has never been a taboo/hateful/prejudice inducing topic, in our home. Children tend to follow their parents' examples.
why don't you lay off Ellen & Portia, they aren't going to donate bc you are pressuring them to….
Re: boiledchimp – Just so happends that Im the mother of a 4 year old. And she doesnt have trouble understanding this. She and I both believe marriage is something sacred between two people who love eachother. Gender has nothing to do with it. Her parents happend to be straight, but we have close friends who are gay and whom we consider a part of our family.
A child is never born racist, sexist or homophobic. Adults are responsible for passing on hate. And teaching children to look down on others will deprive them emotionaly, as well as the rest of our society.
That's nice and all, but couldn't they at least give a little to the victims of Ike? I just think their priorities are a little…off. Maybe give 50% to Ike victims, 50% to the gay marriage cause? Just sayin'.
