Where were y'all? Under the covers crying about the shitty state of our economy?
Why weren't you glued to the tube in support of the networks' big Thursday night shows?
The new seasons of Grey's Anatomy, Survivor AND The Office premiered Thursday to LOWER ratings than the previous season, according to a new report.
- Grey's was down 18%
- Survivor down 12%
- The Office down 6%
Ugly Betty was another premiere loser on Thursday. It slipped 15% from last season, marking its lowest-rated debut to date.
Was there something going on that we didn't know about?
Wonder if y'all will be back to 'normal' next week.

I watched MSNBC adn CNN all day yesterday! I think most Americans like me are more interested to keeping up with what is happening with our economy than some stupid sitcom!

Well, I was watching ER and BAWLING my eyes out! Best spisode in YEARS! IT WAS AWESOME. If you have not seen it and need a good cry - go to www.nbc.com and watch it. I seriously cried from about 12 minutes after it started until it was over!

Grey's was FABULOUS…I am really hoping they are back on track with some funnier stuff like the first season. Loved it, I really like the approach they took with Callie and Hahn.
I almost did not watch, last season was so flat…I really thought it was in the end of its run, but last night was great. I also loved the teaser of McDreamy dying…and Rose's hilarious prank…OMFG that was fabulous….he deserved that.

No advertising…I found out last night that Grey's was on at 9. That was the only time I saw a preview…it was good though. I love Grey's Anatomy. Don't think it needed to be 2 hours though.
My cable went out in the last minutes of this show. I really would like to Thank Time Warner Cable, because this first episode sucked!
I didn't watch lasnight because I was to busy getting drunk…but I have the DVR. Will watch later while I am busy being hungover.

2 hours of Survivor, ugh, too long. Also do not like the way it was filmed. It's not a Movie or Drama, It's a Reality Show. Film it with Video. Switched to Kitchen Nightmares after the 1st hour. Gordan Ramsay is way more drama then some whinny people in the jungle. blah blah blah. seen it all before.

I love the Office. I was even re-watching part of season 4 for the new one last night. But It was pretty bad 1hr episode overall. I watched all of it, but was pretty disappointed. After such a short season with season 4 because of the writers strike, the show seems to be going downhill. We'll see what happens.

well perez, that first sentence was pretty obnoxious of you, i hope maybe i am just taking you too literally….alot of people probably can't afford cable right now, they have to decide to pay more important bills rather than cable….some folks may of even been working more hours to pay for the extra cost of gas…..i can think of several explanations….
I recorded Ugly Betty to enjoy later. Grey? Seriously? Screw that show. It's been terrible for too long. Meredith is the most annoying main character since Ally McBeal. Her on again, off again relationship with McWhothehell cares, is boring. I love Kevin McKidd but not enough to watch the pathetic train wreck.
I didn't watch any of them. Never liked Grey's. Never watch it because it sucks big time. Was busy and couldn't catch Betty. I watched Nancy Grace instead of the Office. I did, however, watch ER. My Thursday night favorite. Of course I'll watch because it's the last season…how could I not?? Watching Dr. Pratt die, wow, I was crying buckets. You don't realize how attached you are to these characters until they kill them off and you're seriously bawling your eyes out.
The Office was amazing! C'mon guys…gotta watch this show

Don't forget about the huge chunk of would-be TV watchers that still don't have power due to Ike and Gustav. STILL no power! Even if many have power back they might not all have TV's replaced if they were ruined. I'm not sure if the millions involved in those disasters would even be a blip in ratings, but millions of viewers not viewing might be the cause of dip in ratings. Just a thought.

I have to tell you Perez…I was looking forward to Grey's, but I can't even remember what happened on that show because I'm still crying over Dr. Pratt on ER!!! That show has had it's ups and downs…but you have to admit, that was great television. Gut-wrenchingly sad…but great.

i think people got use to watching cable shows and cable reality shows while the strike was goin gon and over the summer when there were no new ep. so people just arn't tuning into regular primetime shows this season as much.
Last night was the USC/Oregon St. game. Geaux to hell USC!
